Hot plates
The hot plate sections are indicated by markings on
the ceramic top.
The dimensions of the heated surfaces are such that
they can accommodate commercially available pans.
Heat control knobs
The heat control knobs allow stepless regulation of
the heat output from 1 to 12.
Theycanbeturnedbothtotherightandtotheleft.
Touch control knob for the doublecircuit heating element
The second heating circuit is activated when the
corresponding heat control knob is turned on and the
touch control pressed.
The heating circuit is switched off when the control
knob is turned back to the zero-position.
Residual heat indicator
This warning lamp will light up when the surface of
the hot plate section reaches a temperature which
could cause burning.
This lamp will also remain lit after heated area has
been switched off as long as the residual heat at the
surface of the ceramic plate is enoughto cause burns.
Thelamp willonly goout whenthere ceasesto beany
danger (temperature under 60° C).
The residual heat should be used to completing the
cooking process or to keeping warm food.

Practical Information for the housewife
The correct pans - See figure 4
Panswitha flat,solid basemustbeused on theheating
sections of the ceramic hotplate.
Uneven pans or pan bases will lead to unnecessarily
long cooking times, and thus higher energy con
sumption.
For cooking which requires a particularly high tem
perature pans with thick flat bases are most suitable.
Usingpans without lids wastes energy. So alwaysuse
pans with lids.
The pans should not be smaller than the heating
sections.

Care and cleaning
Your ceramic hob surface is resistant to extremes of
temperature. Neither the cold nor the heat can harm
it.
However, it can be damaged by the impact of any
thing which is punctiform such as a springkling of
salt, a spice bottle or any other small object.
Clean your ceramic hot plates surface thouroughly
before its first use and then clean it regularly, when it
is just warm or cold, and avoid continual burning of
dirt until it is solidified.
For cleaning use:
kitchen roll or clean cloth
razor blade scraper
Sidol stainless steel cleaner with alcohol or a steel
fixer or Cera-Fix or Collo Profi
Thechoice ofcleaning m aterial isdetermined by how
dirty the surface is:
Light dirt which has not been burnet solid can be
wiped off with a soft cloth.
All larger am ounts of dirt which have become
encrusted upon the surface can be simply and easily
removed with a razor blade scraper. Lime and water
deposits, fat splashes and discolourations which
shimmer in a metallic way are to be cleaned with
Sidol steel cleaner and steel fixer or Cera-Fix and
Collo Profi.
Do not use scourers containing powder and sponges
with abrasive sides.
Pay special attention to making sure that residual
quantities of sugar, jam and juices containing sugar,
and of plastic objects or aluminium foil are immediatelywhile theyare stillhotwith aglass craper.lf they
are not removed quickly the ceramic surface may be
damaged.

Care and cleaning
Note:
Changesin colourof thehot platesections arenot due
to a change in the material, but they are food residues
which have become burnt on as they have not been
regularly removed by cleaning. They have no effect
on the functioning and durability of the ceramic.
The cleaning agents which have been recommended:
Steel Fixer, Sidol Special, Cera-Fix and Collo Profi
can be obtained in department stores, specialist
electrical shops, chemist’s shops, grocery stores and
specialist kitchen shops.
