When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS VACUUM CLEANER.
WA R N I N G
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
•Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
•Do not leave vacuum cleaner when plugged in. Turn off the switch and unplug the electrical cord when not in use and before servicing.
•Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
•Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
•Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If vacuum cleaner is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center before using.
•Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run vacuum cleaner over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
•Hold plug when rewinding onto cord reel. Do not allow plug to whip when rewinding.
•Do not use extension cords or outlets with inadequate current carrying capacity.
•Turn off all controls before unplugging.
•Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
•Do not handle plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
•Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow.
•This vacuum cleaner creates suction. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
•Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
•Do not use without dust bag in place.
•Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
•Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
•Store your cleaner in a cool, dry area.
•Keep your work area well lighted.
•Unplug electrical appliances before vacuuming them.
•For Household use only.
•This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

Thermal Cut Off
This vacuum cleaner has a special thermostat that protects the cleaner in case of motor overheating. If the cleaner suddenly shuts off, push the on/off switch off (O) and unplug the cleaner. Check the cleaner for a possible source of overheating such as a full dust bag, a blocked hose or clogged filter. If these conditions are found, fix them and wait at least 30 minutes before attempting to use the cleaner. After the 30 minute period, plug the cleaner back in and push the on/off switch on (I). If the cleaner still does not run, then take it to an Electrolux Authorized Service Center for repair.

•Ne pas transporter l’aspirateur en tirant sur le cordon. Ne pas se servir du cordon comme poignée. Ne pas coincer le cordon dans une porte. Ne pas tirer sur le cordon s’il est en contact avec des bords ou des coins tranchants. Ne pas passer l’aspirateur sur le cordon. Tenir le cordon à l’écart des surfaces chauffées.
•Tenir la prise lors du rembobinage du cordon sur l’enrouleur. Ne pas laisser échapper la prise lors du rembobinage.
•Ne pas utiliser de rallonges ou de prises avec une intensité nominale admissible inadéquate.
•Désactiver toutes les commandes avant de débrancher l’aspirateur.
•Ne pas débrancher l’aspirateur en tirant sur le cordon. Pour débrancher l’aspirateur, tenir la prise et non le cordon.
•Ne pas toucher la prise ou l’aspirateur avec des mains mouillées.
•Ne pas placer d’objets dans les ouvertures. Ne pas utiliser l’aspirateur si une ouverture est bouchée. Retirer la poussière, les peluches, les cheveux et tout élément pouvant entraver la circulation d’air.
•Cet aspirateur crée un phénomène de succion. Garder les cheveux, les vêtements, les doigts et toutes les parties du corps à l’écart des ouvertures et des pièces mobiles.
•Ne pas ramasser d’objets qui brûlent ou qui fument, comme des cigarettes, des allumettes ou des cendres.
•Ne pas utiliser l’aspirateur sans un sac à poussière.
•Faire particulièrement attention lors de l’utilisation de l’aspirateur dans des escaliers.
•Ne pas utiliser l’aspirateur pour ramasser des liquides inflammables, comme de l’essence, ou dans des endroits susceptibles de contenir de tels liquides.
•Ranger l’aspirateur dans un endroit frais et sec.
•Travailler dans des endroits bien éclairés.
•Débrancher les appareils électriques avant de passer l’aspirateur sur ceux-ci.
•Utiliser l’aspirateur uniquement dans un environnement domestique.
•Cet appareil possède une prise polarisée (une broche est plus large que l’autre). Celle-ci doit être insérée dans une prise de courant polarisée dans un sens précis. Si la prise ne rentre pas complètement dans la prise de courant, tourner la prise. En cas de problème, contacter un électricien qualifié pour installer une prise de courant appropriée. Ne pas altérer la prise de l’aspirateur.

Coupure thermique
Cet aspirateur dispose d’un thermostat spécial qui protège l’appareil en cas de surchauffe du moteur. Si l’aspirateur s’arrête soudainement, éteindre l’appareil en mettant l’interrupteur en position Arrêt (O), puis débrancher l’aspirateur. Inspecter l’aspirateur pour trouver une source possible de surchauffe, telle qu’un sac à poussière plein, un tuyau bloqué ou un filtre bouché. Si l’une de ces situations se vérifie, résoudre le problème et attendre au moins 30 minutes avant d’utiliser à nouveau l’aspirateur. Après 30 minutes, rebrancher l’aspirateur et remettre l’interrupteur en position Marche (I). Si le problème persiste, amener l’aspirateur à un centre de réparation Electrolux autorisé pour réparation.

•No debe tirar ni mover la aspiradora por el cable ni utilizar este cable como asa. Tampoco debe presionar el cable en una puerta ni colocarlo sobre bordes o esquinas afiladas. No utilice la aspiradora sobre el cable. Mantenga el cable alejado de superficies calientes.
•Sostenga el enchufe mientras el cable se enrolla por el carrete. No permita que el enchufe se mueva demasiado mientras se enrolla el cable.
•No utilice tomas de corriente ni cables de extensión que tengan una capacidad inadecuada de transmisión de corriente.
•Apague todos los controles antes de desenchufar.
•No tire el cable para desenchufar. Para hacerlo, sujete el enchufe, no el cable.
•No manipule el enchufe ni la aspiradora con las manos húmedas.
•No coloque ningún objeto sobre las aberturas. No utilice la aspiradora con ninguna abertura bloqueada; manténgala alejada del polvo, pelusas, cabello o cualquier elemento que pueda reducir el flujo de aire.
•Con esta aspiradora se produce succión. Mantenga su cabello, la ropa suelta que esté usando, los dedos de sus manos y todas las partes del cuerpo alejados de las aberturas y partes móviles.
•No recoja nada que se esté quemando ni que emita humo, como cigarros, fósforos o ceniza caliente.
•Sólo utilícela con la bolsa para el polvo colocada en su lugar.
•Ponga especial cuidado cuando limpie las escaleras.
•No la utilice para recoger líquidos inflamables o combustibles tales como gasolina, ni la utilice en áreas donde es posible encontrar este tipo de elementos.
•Almacene su aspiradora en un área fría y seca.
•Mantenga su área de trabajo bien iluminada.
•Desenchufe los aparatos eléctricos antes de aspirar.
•Sólo para uso doméstico.
•Este aparato tiene un enchufe polarizado (un diente es más ancho que el otro). Este enchufe sólo se adapta a la toma de corriente polarizada de una manera. Si el enchufe no se adapta completamente a la toma de corriente, delo vuelta. Si aún así no se adapta, póngase en contacto con un electricista calificado para instalar la toma de corriente adecuada. No modifique de ningún modo el enchufe.

Desconexión térmica
Esta aspiradora tiene un termostato especial que permite protegerse en caso de un sobrecalentamiento del motor. Si la aspiradora se apaga repentinamente, coloque el botón de encendido y apagado en la posición de apagado (O) y desenchufe la aspiradora. Verifique si en la aspiradora hay algún elemento que esté originando el sobrecalentamiento, tal como una bolsa para el polvo llena, una boquilla bloqueada o un filtro obstruido. But how do we build a quiet vacuum?
It starts with the motor, which is engineered to keep high-pitched noises to a minimum. We also make ample use of multiple layers of insulation to dampen noise further. Additional insulation near the air passageways also reduces the tell-tale sound of turbulent air flow.
Design plays a part as well. Air ducts are aerodynamic and parts fit snugly to keep air inside and noise to a minimum. Ingeniously, that tight construction also creates maximum pull at the nozzle.

Intrinsic to a quiet vacuum is its ability to move around with a minimum of fuss. Wheels on the Precision™ Canister are soft, gentler on your floor and quieter.
