Copy-Track® Controller Software
Product Overview
Copy-Track and Alpha-X terminals to control and account for copying activity on copiers. CopyTrack manages up to 4200 user codes per copier, and supports up to 999 copiers.
Copy-Track communicates with Alpha terminals via RS232 serial, USB serial, ethernet, or Palm handheld protocols.
Ethernet communication, local or remote, requires Alpha-X terminals. Both Copicode Alpha and Alpha-X terminals are fully alphanumeric.
User codes can be up to 16 characters in length, and can be segmented into two or three parts for higher levels of accounting. User codes can either be pre-entered for security, or entered "on the fly" for third party billing.
User code names can be up to 25 characters long, and copier names can be up to 16 characters long. User codes and copiers are shown in column sortable tables. Segments of user codes can be displayed in separate, sortable columns.
Copy-Track has extensive reporting capabilities, especially with segmented user codes. Reports are based on readings, and are date range selectable. Individual reports for a user code single segment are also possible: for example, you can generate a report for one user, by client and matter, or one client, by matter and user. These individual reports can function as invoices for third party billing. All reports are fully printable, and exportable to Excel, or to the Clipboard.
Three different user prompts are available on Alpha and Alpha-X terminals. For copiers supporting multiple pricing schemes, the Alpha and Alpha-X terminals support up to four sets of four prices for four different copy types.
User codes picked up from individual Alpha and Alpha-X terminals can be accepted into the Copy-Track database and possibly propagated to other terminals according to a rule set in the program.
Data are first read, then collected by Copy-Track. Serial and Palm connections to Alpha terminals can be autodetected. These data are then placed in Copy-Track‘s Access database. This database can be placed anywhere on a network, be password protected and addressed simultaneously by multiple instances of Copy-Track.
Copier activity is shown in clicks by copy type, and accumulated value by user code. This activity can be valued in units or money. A collection report shows which copiers have had data collected from them. Copier activity is used to generate preventative maintenance reports. Data from Alpha-X terminals can be collected locally or remotely [over the Internet], either at will or on a scheduled basis.
User codes can be activated or deactivated individually or in groups.
Copy-Track is licensed by base cost, plus number of active copiers and active user codes needed. Palm data collection software is sold pre-loaded in a Palm Tungsten C handheld or equivalent, which comes with a special cable.
Copy-Track is designed to run on a Windows PC with a Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows 2003 Server operating system.

Print-Track® Print Tracking Software
Product Overview
Print-Track® is one of a suite of software products designed by Advanced Technologies Inc. (TekVend) to control and account for copying and printing activity on standalone copiers, networked digital copier-printers, and printers.
Print-Track is a revolutionary new printer control and accounting software product for Windows PCs. Print-Track comes in two versions: Print-Track Plus, and Print-Track Pro.
If you are interested in controlling copying, separately, or with printing, please investigate our sister products Copy-Track
Both versions of Print-Track work stand-alone, on a small workgroup network, or on a domain. Print-Track comes with three standard components: Print-Track Server, Print-Track Client, and the common (networkable) database. A variation of PrintTrack Client, Print-Track Release Station can be licensed and used in conjunction with a vending station for anonymous vending of print jobs.
Print-Track works with Win2000, XP Pro and Win 2003 clients. Print-Track Server need not be mounted on a Win 2000 or 2003 server: it can be mounted on any Admin logged-on PC on the Windows network, and it controls and accounts for any printer locally attached to any PC on that network, including IP printers. Print-Track Client should be (but does not have to be) mounted on all network PCs that originate monitored print jobs, but it must be mounted on all network PCs that have locally monitored printers. In "print for pay" or other "secure release" scenarios, Print-Track Release Station should be installed on a designated PC other than the server PC. In limited situations, the "fast switching" feature of XP Pro can be used, but "fast switching" is not supported on a Windows domains
While Print-Track works on a workgroup network, setting up a domain is highly recommended for networks larger than a few PCs, because a domain's Active Directory is well suited for logon authentication, PC netbios identification, and uniform printing security policies. See our white paper "Controlling and Accounting for Printing on a Windows Network".
While Print-Track is designed for Windows networks using Windows print drivers, it will properly control and account for (against Mac and Samba logon) any print jobs originating from Mac Panther or Tiger clients and utilizing CUPS PostScript 3 print drivers. In such cases, the Mac clients are not bound to Active Directory but instead print via Samba using our Mac-Track feature.
Because Print-Track uses TCP/IP communication, it will work between Windows clients and print servers on a Novell network.

Instances of Print-Track Release Station are licensed on a per use basis. Licensing must be completed through an email function. Please call us for pricing.
If you are interested in either version of Print-Track, you can download the appropriate demo version from our Web site at
http://www.tekvend.com/products/Print-Track.cfm
You can also download various sample reports and an Excel spreadsheet of supported printers (which is constantly being updated). If any of your organization's printers are not listed, this most probably only means that the driver has not been "officially tested" by TekVend personnel.
Windows 98 clients have not been tested with Print-Track, and are not supported. Additionally, installation of Print-Track server automatically includes the installation of Dot Net as required.
Installation and Technical Support
We will be glad to work with your IT personnel and your local copier / printer supplier to assure a smooth, quick and successful installation.
Print-Track comes with free software updates and telephone support for the duration of the lease period.
Vending Controllers
Currently, TekVend offers four vending controllers suitable for attachment to a PrintTrack Release Station: the M6500S, M6506S, M7500S and M7506S controllers. These controllers are identical to the M6500, M6506, M7500 and M7506 controllers respectively, except they have a serial port and specialized software for connecting to a release station PC. For a premium charge, these controllers can be connected to a release station via a USB port, or an IP hub connection on the local area network.
Note that not only can these controllers simultaneously control copying and printing on a single copier/printer, but they can also simultaneously control multiple printers. Furthermore, copy control can be performed via Print-Track Release Station on a locally attached copier/printer. Finally, print vending can be limited to cards only (totally, or above a certain print vend price).

VendGuard 1000 On-line Vending Machine Controller
Product Overview
Advanced Technologies (TekVend) is pleased to introduce the VendGuard 1000 online vending machine controller. This new product represents a quantum leap in the vending machine industry.
No longer are vending machines merely money-based dispensers of candy bars, soft drinks and the like. Instead, they are used as on-line terminal dispensers of - and accounting mechanisms for - any motor drivable product needed by employees to do their jobs.
With the VendGuard 1000 Controller, employees can receive any item they need at any time: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Plus, they are held accountable for every item they receive. Further, the server that the vending machine communicates with (is a terminal to) determines which items an employee is authorized to receive.
With the VendGuard 1000 system, which includes TekVend's controller installed in a pullout drawer and connected to from one to three vending machines:
Employees receive items needed to do their jobs at any time, including weekends and graveyard shift
Employees are held responsible for every item dispensed to them (no hoarding or shrinkage can happen)
Employees receive only the items they are authorized to receive
There is no labor cost associated with dispensing these items
There is essentially no labor cost associated with receiving these items
Liabilities related to accidents associated with needed items not being
available after hours is reduced essentially to zero
Keep in mind that each item dispensed is date-time stamped at the server as dispensed to a particular employee. On-line vending machines can therefore be refilled on a replacement only basis, significantly reducing inventory stock.
One obvious application for VendGuard 1000 controller equipped vending machines is the dispensing of personal protection equipment and daily consumables in a factory environment: gloves, sweatbands, safety glasses, batteries, Kevlar sleeves, tapes, tape measures, knife blades, lubricants, touchup paints, locks, lockout tags, etc.
Another obvious application is office supplies in a shared environment, specifically inkjet cartridges and other expensive consumables. A third applications would be hospital consumables such as bandages, gauze, syringes, suture kits, surgical gloves, antiseptic hand lotion, etc.
The VendGuard 1000 controller installs easily in a vertical pullout drawer designed to fit into a Fawn / USI Snackmart vending machine.
