Make sure your installation will conform to all applicable codes and requirements.
TEST FOR SIGNAL STRENGTH AND NOISE...
using appropriate test equipment. It is necessary to test the installation in the actual operating
environment. The amount and types of line loads may reduce the strength of the transmitted signal
and/or electrical noise may cause interference with the transmitted signal. Proper installation may
require additional couplers, filters or repeaters. Special coupling devices are required to allow signal
to be distributed to all phases and zero-crossings in multi-phase and multi-transformer distributions.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS...
consult your nearest Engineered System Center (ESC) for additional information.
There are no field repairable assemblies on this unit. It is covered by a two year limited warranty. If
service is needed, the unit must be returned to the ESC where purchased. Contact your ESC for return
details.

INSTALLATION / SETTING THE ADDRESS
WITH A LOAD CONNECTED: (See page 2 for "without a load connected")
1. Make sure the load connected does not exceed the device rating.
2. Plug lamp or load (make sure it is turned ON) into RP124 outlet.
Note: If you first plug the RP124 into an outlet it will respond only to factory preset address A1.
3. To change the address, hold in the push-button on the front of the module, insert the RP124
into the receptacle, or apply power if connected to a controlled circuit. If there is a lamp connected
to the module, the lamp will be illuminated, turn OFF, and then turn back ON (make sure the lamp
is turned on before you start). YOU DO NOT NEED A LAMP TO BE PLUGGED INTO THE
MODULE TO CHANGE THE ADDRESS BUT IT IS HELPFUL.
NOTE: The module waits for a new address to be configured for up to 1 minute. If a new address is
not received within that time, the module will turn off the lamp (if there is one plugged in and turned
to ON), and continue to respond to the old address.
4. Now transmit the desired address twice with a 1 second pause between transmissions (can be
any single address from A1 to P16) or address plus command (can be ON or OFF). Load does
not respond to configuration command as such, but the lamp will turn OFF indicating the new
address is now configured.
5. The module will now respond to the new address. Transmit an ON command to verify.

OPERATION
CHECKOUT
WITHOUT A LOAD CONNECTED:
Note: If you first plug the RP124 into an outlet it will respond only to commands addressed at A1.
1. To change the address, hold in the push-button on the front of the module, insert the RP124
into the receptacle, or apply power if connected to a controlled circuit. Two to three clicks will
be heard to indicate it is the configure mode. Release the push-button.
NOTE: The module waits for a new address to be configured for up to 1 minute. If a new address is
not received within that time, the module will turn off and continue to respond to the old address.
2. Now transmit the desired address twice with a 1 second pause between transmissions (can be
any single address from A1 to P16) or address plus command (can be ON or OFF). I r r espective
of the configuration command, the RP124 will turn OFF indicating the new address is now
configured.
3. The module will now respond to the new address. Now send an ON command. If the module turns
ON (an audible click will be heard) it is configured correctly.
With any controller that supports X10 commands, the RP124 can be remotely turned on and off, or
respond to the ALL UNITS OFF command.
To manually turn the module on and off, tap the push-button on front of the unit quickly.
If unplugged or if power is lost, when plugged back in, the output will revert to the state before power
was lost.
1. Test Operation:
Using a test or desktop transmitter, transmit the programmed address to ensure the module
controls the load in response to remote control.
2. Test for Signal Strength and Noise once again using appropriate PCC test equipment.
