The shifter assembly for the Saturn Overdrive is only available for the original T90 3 speed transmission, 1946-1966.
The shifter bracket fits directly over the top cover plate of the 3 speed transmission and the pivot extends outward
towards the passenger side of the vehicle. To access the assembly of the T90 transmission , the sheet metal tunnel
cover will need to be removed. When mounting the shifter bracket, you will need to use the steel spacer washers
between the top cover and the shifter bracket. New bolts have been supplied for the bracket assembly to the
transmission. The linkage rod must be installed into the slotted shift rail on the back side of the overdrive. The rod
must be slipped over the transfer case and certain installations may require modifications to the shifter rod. With the
extension rod in position and the shifter bracket in position, you can now install the handle assembly. The handle will
slip over the shifter bracket pin as illustrated. The clevis assembly (or brake yoke), will then slip onto the shifter
handle. At this point, the adjustment between the shifter handle and the linkage rod can be determined. The handle
should be positioned in a vertical position and the shifter rod in the overdrive should be positioned into the neutral
location.

On installations that are using other types of transmissions such as automatics, truck 4 speeds and various car 4
speeds, it will be the customer's responsibility to modify the T90 linkage for adapting to your various transmissions.
Advance Adapters is currently evaluating all of the various applications and will eventually offer various shifter
brackets for the most popular installations.

When adapting the T90 linkage to other types of transmissions, the critical part is to make sure the linkage rod between

dealerships and parts stores.

the shifter bracket and overdrive assembly has sufficient access over the top of the transfer case. The linkage
bracket that we have supplied can usually be modified or added to for the various transmissions.

The shifter boot and boot ring have been supplied to give you tow optional access holes. The retainer ring can be
used on either side and the remaining portion of the boot can remain underneath the side that was not removed. New
holes and mounting screws will need to be used for positioning the bot assembly over the handle.
