Remove the small clamp that retains the power steering hose to the frame. Disconnect the steering shaft from the spline at the end of the steering gear box. Remove the steering box from the frame.
Remove the original mounting plate. You will need to reuse the 4 bolts that held the stock mounting box plate to the frame. The two lower bolts had sleeves that will also need to be retained, however these sleeves will need to be shortened 1/2". The new bolts and lock washers are supplied to remount the steering box to the new plate. The lock nuts and flat washers supplied are to fit the long stock bolts and to secure the bracket to the frame. The upper long bolt may hit the steering box, you can grind 1/4" off the end of the bolt. You should also check clearance on the bottom edge of the grill for clearance on the high pressure hose. You may need to clearance the grill for this hose. Once these areas have been checked and modified as needed, install the steering box and plate onto the Jeep. The bolts should be torqued to 55 ft.lbs.
