FORD OIL FILTER
RELCATION ADAPTER KIT
KIT CONSISTS OF:
No. Qty Part No. Description
1. 1 716084 OIL FILTER KIT
NOTE:
Remove old oil filter (and bracket if there is one). Install new oil filter adapter WITH
O-RING. Apply Teflon thread sealer to two of the hose fittings. Apply Teflon thread
sealer to the two pipe plugs. It is important to select inlet to be used with one of
the hose fittings; PLUG OFF THE OTHER END with one of the pipe plugs. Equally
important is to select the most suitable outlet for the other hose fitting ; PLUG OFF
THE OTHER END. A maximum distance of 4 feet is available between the new
adapter and new oil filter base, since the hose provided is 8 feet long- (4 feet each
way).
Locate a solid place for the oil filter base plus the weight of oil filled filter. Remember: The
best position for oil filter is with its threaded drain upwards so oil won’t spill out when changing filters! Teflon seal the threads
of the two hose fittings left. Mark with a sharpie the inlet/outlet of the oil filter base and thread these two hose fittings to it.
Thread the nipple for the oil filter into the new base. REMEMBER: The outlet hose on the base goes IN the oil filter adapter.
Attach hoses carefully- out to in, in to out; and clamp.
Filters to use: Napa #1515 (“standard Ford filter”) or shorter version #1068, or other manufacturers interchange.
SPECIAL NOTE: The components packaged in this kit have been assembled and machined for specific type of conversions. Modifications to any of the components will void
