kit and have it completely bolted
together, you must be able to pull
the torque converter assembly
forward towards the engine at
least 1/16" to 1/8". This prevents
any possible damage to the trans­mission pump. If this cannot be
obtained, please call our techni­cal department for help. The bolts
in the kits for the torque con­verter are both metric and stan­dard, please identify and use the
proper bolts for your torque con­verter.

FORD SMALL BLOCK 302 TO

CHEVY AUTOMA TIC TRANSMISSIONS

These kits are designed to fit Ford small block 302 to GM automatics ONLY. Please read the following
instructions before you begin to assemble.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Remove the stock Ford
dowel pins and shorten
approximately 1/8".
The stock dowel pins
need to be flush with
the new adapter plate.

2. Install the stock
Ford 302 dust cover
shield. This shield
provides the proper
index and location
for the Ford starter.

Engine dowel pin
hole (backside of
block)

Dowel pin after shortenend
approximately 1/8".

3. Install the new flexplate to the block. The recommended
torque specification is 75-85 ft./lbs.

4. Install the new adapter plate to the block. Fasten the block
using the F.H.C.S.

5. "Check fit" the torque converter adapter ring on the motor
for the proper crank index. It should be a "slip-fit". DO NOT

FORCE THE TWO TOGETHER. Some older crank shafts

may need to be deburred as necessary.
