INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This kit is designed to use a Land Cruiser 10 spline 3-speed transfer case from 1963 to 1973. The GM NP203 transfer
case is chain driven and was used from the early 1970's through 1979. The NP203 transfer case can be identified by
a cast iron case, and the inspection cover in the low gear box housing. This kit is designed to use the front half of the
NP203 transfer case, which houses the low gear set. This kit will add approximately 6.5" to your drivetrain.
This kit works with a TH350, 700R-4, TH400 or SM465. Transfer case linkage, crossmember and floorboard
modifications are necessary. We have listed an optional crossmember mount that will help assist you in mounting the
transmission adapter to your vehicle, but additional mounting modifications will still be required. We have also included
a brass elbow that goes in the top of the new adapter plate. The vent supplied will need to be mounted to the firewall along
with an additional 3/8" hose.
OPTIONAL ITEMS:
Qty Part No. Description
1 716004 CROSSMEMBER ASSY
(Includes #716003 Mount)
1 716022 CROSSMEMBER ASSY
(May be used if motor is
moved forward)
DO NOT FORCE THE NEW ADAPTER PLATE ONTO THE TRANSFER CASE OR THE NP203 GEAR BOX. If
assistance is needed, please feel free to call us toll free at 1-800-350-2223.
Due to the added length, driveshaft modifications will be necessary. Moving the engine forward may compensate for
some of the added length; and by removing your mechanical fan & going to a electric pusher fan, you may be able to save
up to 4" in your driveline. This change will require modifications to the front of your Land Cruiser.
NEW CRAWL RATIOS:
3 Speed Transfer Case = 4.63
4 Speed Transfer Case = 3.99 (In '75)
4 Speed Transfer Case = 3.92 ('76 & Up)
SPECIAL NOTE: The components packaged in this kit have been assembled and machined for specific type of conversions. Modifications to any of the components will
void any possible warranty or return privileges. If you do not fully understand modifications or changes that will be required to complete your conversion, we strongly recommend
that you contact our sales department for more information. This instruction sheet is only to be used for the assembly of Advance Adapter components. We recommend that
a service manual pertaining to your vehicle be obtained for specific torque values, wiring diagrams and other related equipment. These manuals are normally available at
automotive dealerships and parts stores.

The NP203 reduction box is a sealed unit and requires it's own oil supply. Use the recommended oil for the NP203 transfer
case. We have included a fill plug and hole on the adapter plate for filling the unit; and to drain the NP203 box you can
either remove the bottom bolt on the inspection cover or remove the inspection cover completely.
