WFMWireless Audio Distribution by T-MaxTransmitter User’s Guide
Salon Music UNPLUGGED!
Thank you for purchasing the WFMWireless Audio Music Distribution system by Applied Digital, Inc, the manufacturer of the T-Max timing system.
The WFMWireless Audio Music Distribution System transmits music on the unused frequencies of the FM band. One front desk unit will transmit a single music source to any FM receiver in your salon. You can use our WFM Wireless Audio Receiver or any standard FM receiver. You can have as many music sources as you have unused frequencies in the FM radio band in your area. Simply use one WFMWireless Audio transmitter for each music source you want.
For best results it is recommended that the WFMTransmitters be located as close to the center of the salon as possible. This will help ensure a clear audio signal to each tanning room. If you want to put the WFMwireless transmitters at the front desk, test the system by making sure you can receive clear audio at the furthest point from the WFMtransmitter in your salon. If you do not get a good clear signal at that location, then the WFMtransmitter at the front desk will have to be moved.
To install the WFMWireless Audio Distribution System, do the following:
Find an unused FM radio frequency.
1) Using a standard FM radio, tune it to a FM frequency that receives no audio. You can go to web site below to find a list of unused frequencies in your area: http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/vacant
2) Using the Up and Down buttons, adjust the frequency on the WFMTransmitter unit to the same frequency you found in step 1.
3) Repeat these steps for each WFMTransmitter you have. Make sure not to set two transmitters to the same frequency.
Connect the external music source to the WFMTransmitters.
Apply power to the WFMtransmitter and connect your audio source to the MP3 receiver port on the WFM Transmitter. Any music source (MP3 Player, CD player, etc) can be used. If your music source does not have a MP3 connection (such as RCA jacks), you will have to get an adapter at your local store. One music source can be connected to each front desk transmitter.
Connecting an External 75Ohm Antenna
You can connect an external 75 Ohm Antenna to the Coaxial input on the WFM Wireless Music Distribution Transmitter. However, you must unscrew the provided antenna. Failing to do this will cause poor audio quality.
Set the memory in the rooms.
Once you have the music sources playing at the front desk, you will need to tune the FM receivers in each room to the frequencies you selected for each WFMTransmitter. Set the memory on your FM receivers to the desired music station (Refer to your FM receiver manual or tanning bed manual if the FM receiver is built into the tanning bed).
It would be a good idea to set each music source to the same memory number in each room (country to channel 1, rock to channel 2 and so on) to prevent confusion.
