ADEMCO Video’s RapidDome Gold indoor domes are the premier choice for any
application. RapidDome Gold’s high-resolution, low light sensitivity and extended zoom capabilities
can satisfy even the most extreme, complex viewing requirements.
RapidDome Gold is extremely flexible, offering three different imager/lens options. All feature
frame integration modes that allow RapidDome Gold to deliver images at far lower light levels
than conventional cameras. The color/mono changeover imager automatically removes its IR cut
filter in extreme low light conditions, allowing outstanding performance in light levels as low as
0.01 lux.
RapidDome Gold features continuous autofocus and either a 144X zoom (18X optical, 8X digital)
or an even more powerful 176X zoom (22X optical, 8X digital). Its intelligent zoom automatically
adjusts pan and tilt speeds in proportion to zoom position. The dome provides 360˚ continuous
pan rotation and manual variable speed control at 0.1-100˚/second. And its attractive, compact
design is low profile at only 5", making it the perfect choice for applications where aesthetics are
critical and discreet surveillance is a must. RapidDome Gold also provides advanced features
such as Privacy Zones that can mask sensitive areas of a scene from view, home position which
automatically returns the dome to a preset tour after a specified period of inactivity. Mimic tours
allow operations programmed at the keyboard to be memorized and recalled, allowing for
unattended operation.
RapidDome Gold indoor domes are available in two standard assemblies; a false ceiling mount
and a plug and play pendant. The false ceiling version provides quick and easy installation into
any drop or false ceiling—no additional mounts or accessories are required. The standard
pendant version provides the ultimate in flexibility. Its plug and play design and wide range of
mounting accessories gives you the freedom to choose the perfect configuration for any
installation.

STANDARD DOME ASSEMBLIES
• Easy installation and servicing:
RapidDome Gold’s pendant version features an innovative
“plug and play” design that make installation and servicing
quick and convenient.
• High resolution, low-light cameras:
RapidDome Gold’s high resolution DSP cameras with lowlight sensitivity (down to 0.01 lux) make them the ideal dome
for any installation.
• Continuous auto focus with manual override:
No matter what the zoom position, RapidDome Gold’s
images remain in sharp focus. When the scene requires
extra fine control, RapidDome Gold allows the operator to
override the auto focus settings.
• Intelligent zoom:
RapidDome Gold automatically adjusts pan and tilt speeds in
proportion to zoom position for greater control. The lens
pauses at the end of its optical zoom, then enters digital
zoom mode.
• Continuous rotation, high-speed pan, tilt, and
zoom systems:
RapidDome Gold features 360˚ continuous rotation on gold
slip rings. RapidDome Gold also features high-speed
precision control with electronic braking for up to
400˚/second operation down to 0.1˚/second.
• Home Position:
This feature allows the dome to return to a preset or start a
tour after it remans inactive for a specific, user definable
period of time. This ensures that even when a dome is
unattended, it can be viewing an important area.
• 180˚ flip ON/OFF:
When this feature is ON, RapidDome Gold automatically
turns 180˚ when reaching its lower tilt limit. This allows the
operator to continuously track objects moving directly below
the camera.
• Preset positioning and tour capabilities:
RapidDome Gold’s presets can easily be set up and recalled
by the operator when using ADEMCO Video RapidView
systems. Four preset tours and four mimic tours may be
programmed.
• Privacy Zones:
Twenty eight programmable privacy zones allows the camera
to block private views from the monitor.
• Sector Identification:
RapidDome Gold supports up to 16 user definable sectors,
each with a definable title of up to 10 characters.
• Up-the-coax or RS485 twisted pair operation:
Utilizing lift and gain circuitry, up-the-coax operation of up to
1,640 feet (500 meters) is possible with appropriate cable.
RS485 twisted pair operation allows up to 32 RapidDome
Gold domes to be daisy chained at a maximum of
5,000 feet (1,500 meters).
• Automatic sync-phase adjustment:
Using compatible RapidView Matrix Systems, the video
signal can be synchronized with other system inputs with the
touch of a button.
