Wireless Zone Sensor
INSTALLATIQN INSTRUCVONS
INTRODUCTION
This wireless
temperature control system, operating
centrally located Spread Spectrum Receiver (Model 7712RX).
Zone sensors are installed in areas where temperature
control is to be maintained. Ideally, the receiver should be
equidistant from all its assigned zone sensors.
The zone sensor measures temperature and periodically
transmits that information via RF stgnals to its assigned
receiver. The sensor also transmits occupant set point
temperature. Other information that can be transmitted
includes special service requests, unique serial number of
sensor, and status of the batteries in the unit.
RF signals from wireless zone sensors are received by a
receiver, which will then send appropriate messages via
communication wires to specific
equipment assigned to it. This information is also sent to a
central controller for system monitoring.
After mounting each wireless sensor, the Model 7712lT

INSTALLATION
Location
Wireless sensors can be installed anywhere on common
walls and panitions. Operation will not be affected by metal
framing in walls or partitions; however, mounting to solid
metal walls or cabinets may reduce the operating distance
between the zone sensor and the receiver. Typical line-ot-
sight transmission range indoors for sensors is approximately
1OOOfeet
Mounting (Fig. 2)
A mounting plate is provided with the sensor. If attached to
the back of the sensor, release it by depressing the ‘locking
tab’ at the bottom center of the mounting plate with the blade
of a screwdriver, and then sliding the plate downward.
Mount the plate on the selected wall or partition with the
VELCRO strips or screws provided. Hooks must point upward
(the plate also has the word ‘TOP’ molded into the top side).
Position the sensor onto the mounting plate so that the
mounting plate hooks enter the keyhole slots in the back of
the sensor, then slide downward to lock the sensor in place.
Battery Installation (Fig. 3)
The sensor uses two 3-volt Lithium batteries (supplied).
Remove the sensor cover by squeezing the cover at the top
and bottom and then pulling the cover away.
Install one battery in each compartment in the sensor. THE
SENSOR WILL NOT OPERATE WtTH ONLY ONE
BATTERY.
Note: Batteries will not seat properly in their compartments if
installed incorrectly with regard to polarity. Make sure each
battery is fully seated in the compartment and that proper
conted
is being made at each end of the battery.
