The SiI3132_1.1.6u_Sil_Pkg Macintosh driver supplied with the Addonics ADSA3GPX1-2EM SATA host adapter is designed to provide external SATA direct connect and port multiplier compatibility to the Mac Pro. The Mac driver requires that the card be flashed with the SiI-3132 BASE BIOS for it to work on an Apple Mac Pro. All Addonics ADSA3GPX1-2EM model SATA host adapters have been pre-flashed with t he BASE BIOS so that Macintosh users only need to load the Silicon Image Mac driver.
There are a variety of SATA enclosures that will work with the ADSA3GPX1-2EM SATA host adapter and the Apple Mac Pro. Addonics provides a Storage Tower that can be configured as a direct connect or as a SATA PM enclosure. It can be found here: http://www.addonics.com/products/raid_system/ast4.asp
Many other vendors also sell SATA enclosures that are compatible with t he Addonics ADSA3GPX1-2EM. Some examples include the FirmTek SeriTek/2EN2 Dual Bay enclosure, the FirmTek SeriTek/2eEN4 eSATA 4 Bay Enclosure, the Sonnet Fusion 400 and the Fusion 500P.
