These suggestions are based on experience, but there are factors which could alter the overall performance. For example:
Cartons with center seam gap greater than 3/4" or over packed/under packed cartons should be tested with 3" (72mm) wide tape
Hard-to-stick surfaces and Recycled Corrugate Boxes, test Scotch® Recycled Corrugate Tape 371+, 3071 and 3073
Box sealing tapes are available custom printed and with standard security messages
Applications when tape is applied under 40°F, test Scotch® Box Sealing Tape 311+, 313 and 3073
If your package is unusual in size, shape, or load, try the 3M Technical Service Request (TSR) Program. Using the 3M TSR Program, a 3M representative will
work with you on initial testing of a Scotch® Box Sealing Tape. One or two best options will be identified then a sample of your substrate is brought to the
3M Laboratories and tested for stress or other factors the product will encounter. The 3M test results will help you select the best box sealing tape for your
manufacturing process and customer needs.
