Function Overview

• One touch for recording and playing, high quality recoding.

• VOR/VAR function: Voice operated/activated recording.

• Three recording modes:

• LP: Long Play recording

SP: Standard recording (SP recording mode is defaulted as VAR, and the VAR sensitivity can be adjusted) HP: high quality recording

• The recording monitor and hearing aid function

• Record telephone conversations, record via external microphone.

• Built-in high grade microphone and buil t-in loud speaker.

• Automatic Sectional break & repeat from A to B.

• Drive free USB flash disk function.

• Low-battery indication function.

• Work as MP3 Music Player

Precautions

• Please change the batteries properly when the low-battery indication shows on the screen.

• Please switch off the recorder before removing or changing batteries. Otherwise it may cause corruption of files and cause the recorder to freeze (see troubleshooting)

• Please don’t mix different batteries for the recorder’s power supply.

• Please take out the batteries i f you do not use the recorder for a Hold and

• Please read the instruction manual carefully before operating.

• Please keep it from moisture and high temperature, and don’t put it near

the fire.

• Please avoid strong vibration or shocks when using the recorder.

• Do not press the screen forcefully as this will cause damage

• If there’s any problem with the recorder, please contact your local

distributor or refer to the guide/online support area.

• Please don’t disassemble or replace the internal parts yourself this will void your warranty.

• Please backup the files before sending the recorder for repair. We are not responsible for the loss of files which caused by repair or other reasons.

• We are not responsible for the users’ recording without others’ approval.

• We reserve the right to modify the design and specifications. We have no

responsibility to give separate notice for the modification

Turning on

Open the battery case and install the batteries in correct direction +

-. The screen will light up in 3 seconds, the recorder is turned on. For 3 seconds press

button to turn on the recorder.

If there’s no recording file in the recorder, the recorder will automatically enter into the main menu (Recording files interface).

If there are recording files in the recorder, the recorder will automatically enter in playing (recording file) standby mode.

Turn off:

press

button for 3 seconds in the standby mode, screen shows

“OFF”, the recorder is turned off.

Low battery indication

Recorder will show

if the battery is low. The rec order will

automatically save the present recording file and automatically turn off within 30 seconds. Please change the batteries as soon as possible.

Please Note：Please don’t take out the batteries during recording. It

may cause the loss of recorded messages or cause corruption of the recorded files. The frozen mode caused by misuse should be formatted on the computer and all files should be deleted or copied to the pc for storage. The recorder can only be used normally after formatting. Please select FAT system while formatting the recorder. We are not responsible for the loss of information which caused by misuse.

Setting recording mode

Press M button ⑧ to enter in main menu. Press

or buttons ④ or ⑤ to

select the recording modes. Press “M” button to confirm the selection.

Following are the screens of recording modes: (the sign of recording mode will flash on the screen when we come to different modes):

（LP Recording mode）（SP VAR recording mode）（HP recording mode）

• LP: Hold and recording (ACT)

• SP: Standard recording (WAV)

• HP: High quality recording (WAV)

＊Only SP recording mode has Voice Activated Recording

Record with one-touch button

Press “REC” button at defaulted mode to start recording. Screen shows

, the

recorder enters into SP recording mode. It begins recording

Please Note: SP recording mode is the defaulted recording mode in the recorder. And it is also defaulted as Voice Activated Recording. The sensitivity of VAR can be adjusted properly according to the sound source.

Adjusting the sensitivity of VAR

After entering the SP recording mode. Press the “REC” button to record and stop recording, then press

or to select the levels of VAR on the

basis of your needs, minimum is 1 and the maximum is 4. Repress the “REC” to restart recording after finishing adjustment.VOS will flash when there’s no sound input. The recording time pauses. The recording pauses. It will automatically start recording when there’s sound input.

Stop recording

Repress “REC” button ⑥, record stops. Screen shows :

Attention: When screen shows “FUL”, it indicates the disk is full

or the battery is low. Then some files should be deleted to keep enough space to save new recording files & other PC files. If it is low battery, please change the battery. The recorder can save 200 pieces of recording files.

Automatic section-break

After recording for full 4 hours, the recorder will automatically start a new file to continue recording.

Play recorded files

Press button ① in recording stopped mode to start playing

the recording files. The recording files will play one by one. Repress

button ① to stop playing.

Or press

/ buttons ④⑤to at the main menu until the

recorder comes to the screen like above (picture 1). Press “M” button ⑧ to confirm.

The recorder enters in playing (recording file) standby mode. Press

button ①

to start playing.

Adjust volume

Press “volume+/volume-” buttons ② ③ to adjust the volume.

Select file to play：

Press button ④ to playback for next file

press

button ⑤ for previous file.

Hold and press

or button ④ ⑤ for fast forward or rewind, release to

start playing again.

Recording monitor function

Listening with earphone when the recording is proceeding, you can hear what you are recording and various effect of recording in different modes.

Hearing aid function

For the person whose hearing is not so good, the monitor volume can be adjusted for hearing aid.

Adjusting the monitor volume

Press the “REC” to stop the recor ding and then press the “VOLUME+” or “VOLUME-“ to select the volume according to your need, the minimum is 0 and the maximum is 31. After finishing the adjustment, press “REC” to start recording.

Music Player mode

Enter into Music mode: Press M button ⑧ in standby mode to enter into main menu. Press or button ④⑤until the screen shows like picture (1 ) below.

Repress M button ⑧ to confirm and enter in music mode. Then the recorder enters in Music standby mode, the screen shows like picture (2), if there is no music file in the recorder, the screen shows like picture (3) and will return to the main menu:

Play/stop playing:

Press

button ① to start playing after we come to music standby mode.

Repress

button ① to pause playing. .

Select the music to play:

Press

button ④ in music playing mode to select the next piece of music,

press

button ⑤ for last piece of music.

Hold and press

or buttons ④ ⑤ for fast forward/ backward.

Attention：As the recorder adopts Dual Audio stereo earphone

output, we suggest listening with the stereo earphone, due to listening with the speaker can’t get the best sound.

A—B repeat

Press “REC” button ⑥ when playing to confirm point “A”, repress “REC” button ⑥ to confirm point “B”. The recorder starts to repeat from A to B.

Stop repeating A-B：

The recorder will automatically stop repeating after repeating for 3 times when repeating music. And it will repeat all the time when repeating recording files. Press “REC” button ⑥ or “M” button ⑧ at anytime to stop repeating.

Delete

In the recording and playing mode, select the file which should be deleted. Briefly press “C (Delete/Cancel)” button ⑦ to delete the one you select.

Press “M (Menu)” button ⑧ to confirm the deletion. Hold and press “C (Cancel)” button ⑦ for deleting all. Press “M (Menu)” key ⑧ to confirm the deletion. If successful in deleting, the screen shows:

Attention：After entering in the “Delete” mode, if no further

operations on the recorder within 3 seconds, the recorder will automatically exit to the main menu delete mode.

Attention: Please backup the important files in the computer

before deleting or formatting the recorder.

Record telephone conversations

1．Insert the telephone line and phone connecting line into the telephone adaptor. 2．Insert one end of the line-in cable into the telephone adaptor, the other end insert to the “signal-in” jack ⑩. 3．Select the suitable recording mode in the recorder. Press “REC” button ⑥ to start recording. .

Record via external microphone

1. Insert the external Microphone in the “Signal-in” Jack ⑩.

2. Turn on the recorder. Press “REC” button ⑥ to start recording.

Connect with PC via USB

Please insert the USB cable which accompanying with the recorder into the “USB Jack”, and connect the USB cable with the computer, the screen of recorder displays USB:

The recorder has the full function of standard USB flash disk. It can support windows , Windows 2000/ME/XP/Vista

USB Power

This recorder can be power suppl ied by USB. Press “M” key ⑧ to exit USB function when inserted into the computer, the recorder can work as normal for

recording and playing.

Installation of drivers

Place the accompanying CD into the CD ROM of PC (or manually operate the “set up. exe” in the CD), enter in installation interface, click “Next” button, click “Next” button after selecting installation path. Click “Next” to start installing the program. After successful installation, click “Close” button to fulfill software installation. To start from PC’s “Start” → “Program”→ “MP3 Player Upgrade、Sound Convert”. MP3 Player Upgrade is an upgrade tool and Sound Convert is for converting the Voice Files, MP3 player Disk Tool is for setting the password for the disk.

Convert ACT recording file into * WAV format

The ACT format file recorded by the recorder can be converted into WAV format via the accompanying installation program tool kit.

1. Run “Sound Converter” program, and click “Open” button

2. Select the ACT file to be converted

3. Click “Convert” button to start converting into WAV file

Attention: Before converting the ACT file, please rename or

backup the recording file in WAV format which has the same code with ACT format need to convert.For example: We want to convert “REC001 ACT” to WAV format. Before converting it, we have to rename the “REC001”. Otherwise the new file “REC001” created by converting will replace the original “REC001”.

Trouble shooting

The recorder cannot turn on.

Please check the power switch is at the “ON” side or if there is enough battery, please recharge the battery or reformat the recorder. Check that the Hold button is not on.

No sound is heard when playing files.

Please make sure the connection of earphone is OK. Please adjust the volume or check the file to see if the file is damaged/corrupted

It will not record.

Please format the recorder at FAT system. But please backup the important files onto your pc/laptop before formatting. All data is wiped from the recorder

The recorder is frozen, can not response.

Please take out the battery and put them back after 3 second. Then connect the recorder with PC via USB cable. Format the recorder at FAT system. But please backup the important files before formatting.

It will not connect with my PC, it can’t be recognized.

Please check whether there’s something wrong with the USB cable, use a spare if you have one. If you are on an old Operating system please check that the OS USB driver has been installed properly.

The FM Radio is not very clear

Please adjust the position of earphone and recorder.
