Information about the device

Description of the device

The device operates on the desiccant principle and comes equipped with an ioniser, a fan low in noise and maintenance, and a power cable with plug.
The fully automatic control and the condensation tank(2) with integrated overflow protection ensure fault-free operation.
The fan sucks in damp room air via the air inlet(3) with air filter(1), the condenser and the desiccant wheel located behind it.
Within the internal regeneration circuit the air is led via a heating element, it dries the desiccant wheel and leads the moist, warm air through the condenser. At the cooler condenser, heat is withdrawn from the room air and cooled below dew point. The water vapour contained in the room air precipitates in form of condensate.
Depending on the room air temperature and the relative humidity, the condensed water either drops continuously through the integrated drain nozzle into the condensation tank(2) below. The drier air which is prepared in this way mixes with the air in the room. Due to the continuous circulation of the room air through the device, the relative humidity inside the installation space is gradually reduced to the fixed humidity value (45 % RH).
A float is attached inside the condensation tank(2), which in case of a filled condensation tank interrupts the dehumidification via a microswitch. When switching off, the device emits an acoustic signal (3x) and the condensation tank indicator light on the control panel(6) is illuminated (see chapter Operating elements). The indicator light only goes out again once the emptied condensation tank(2) is reinserted. The device returns to the previously selected operation mode.
Negatively charged ions, which charge the oxygen molecules of the ambient air and bind suspended matter and dust particles in the air, are produced by means of the ionisation function.

Unpacking the device

1. Open the cardboard box and take the device out.
2. Completely remove the packaging.
3. Fully unwind the power cable. Make sure that the power cable is not damaged and that you do not damage it during unwinding.

Start-up

When positioning the device, observe the minimum distance from walls or other objects as described in the Technical data chapter.
When positioning the device, particularly in wet areas, secure it locally with an RCD (residual current device) which complies with the respective regulations.
Notes regarding the dehumidification performance
The dehumidification performance depends on:
the layout of the room
the room temperature
the relative humidity
The higher the room temperature and relative humidity, the greater the dehumidification performance.
For use in living rooms, a relative humidity of approx. 50 to 60% is sufficient. In storage facilities and archives, the humidity should not exceed approx. 50%.
Inserting the air filter
Notice
Do not operate the device without an inserted air filter! Without the air filter, the inside of the device will be heavily contaminated. This could reduce the performance and result in damage to the device.
Make sure that the air filter is installed before switching the device on.
Before restarting the device, check the condition of the power cable. If there are doubts as to the sound condition, contact the customer service.
Set the device up in an upright and stable position.
Do not create tripping hazards when laying the power cable or other electric cables, especially when positioning the device in the middle of the room. Use cable bridges.
Make sure that extension cables are completely unrolled.
When positioning the device, keep a sufficient distance to heat sources.
Inserting the condensation tank
Ensure that the float inside the condensation tank is inserted correctly.
Ensure that the condensation tank is empty and inserted correctly.
Connecting the power cable
Insert the mains plug into a properly secured mains socket.
Make sure that no curtains or other objects interfere with the air flow.

Switching the device on
Once you have completely installed the device as described in the Start-up chapter, you can switch it on.
1. Press the Power button(17).
2. Check whether the condensation tank indicator light(8) is out.
3. Select the desired operation mode by use of button13.
Info
If the target humidity value is not reached within 24hours, the device switches off automatically regardless of the operating mode. The device also switches off if the target value was reached for a short time but the heating could not cool down sufficiently. After reaching the target value, the heating requires a certain time (approx.6min) to cool down. If the target value is reached within 24hours and the heating always has sufficient time to cool down, the device will remain in operation even for weeks.

EN 6
Operating manual – dehumidifier TTR 55 E
Normal operation mode (AUTO)
The device regulates the dehumidification performance according to the room air's humidity level and the fan stage:
Above a humidity of 70 %, heater and fan work at the
highest level.
With a humidity level between 50 % and 70 % the heater
works in low stage and the fan in medium stage.
Below 50 % humidity, the heater is switched off and the
fan works at the lowest stage.
Start normal operation mode as follows:
1. Repeatedly press the button for the selection of the operation mode(13) until the indicator light AUTO(12) is illuminated.
Continuous operation mode (CONT)
In continuous operation mode, the device dehumidifies the air constantly, regardless of the humidity. This special function improves the clothes drying process by continuous operation of the dehumidifier at full capacity.
Start the continuous operation mode as follows:
1. Repeatedly press the button for the selection of the operation mode(13) until the indicator light CONT(12) is illuminated.
Eco mode (DRY)
In eco mode, the device works at the lowest heating level. The fan rotates at medium speed. Thus, the energy consumption is reduced.
Start eco mode as follows:
1. Repeatedly press the button for the selection of the operation mode(13) until the indicator light DRY(12) is illuminated.
Page 8
Low-noise operation mode (MUTE)
In low-noise operation mode, the device works at the lowest heating level. The fan rotates at minimum speed.
Start low-noise operation mode as follows:
1. Repeatedly press the button for the selection of the operation mode(13) until the indicator light MUTE(12) is illuminated.
Ionisation function (ION)
When activating the ionisation function, the ion generator produces negatively charged ions. These ions charge the oxygen molecules of the ambient air and bind suspended matter and dust particles in the air. This way the ambient air is cleaned, which improves human well-being.
Start the ionisation function as follows:
1. Press the button for the activation of the ion generator(16) until the indicator light ION(9) is illuminated.
Switch-off timer
Use the switch-off timer to automatically switch off the device after a specified time interval (1, 2, 4 or 8 hours).
Start the switch-off timer as follows:
1. Repeatedly press button14 until one of the indicator lights(11) is illuminated and thus indicates the set switchoff time value in hours.
2. Press button14 again to disable the switch-off timer.
Shutdown
Warning of electrical voltage
Do not touch the mains plug with wet or damp hands.
Switch off the device.
Wait for approx. 2 minutes.
– Due to the follow-up time of the internal components,
the device only switches off completely after approx. 2 minutes.
Hold onto the mains plug while pulling the power cable out
of the mains socket.
Empty the condensation tank, if need be.
Clean the device according to the Maintenance chapter.
Store the device according to the Storage chapter.
