This unit must not be put into service until it
has been established that the power tool to
be connected to this unit is in compliance with
2006/42/EC (identied by the CE marking on
the power tool.
INTENDED USE
This accessory is intended for remote switching
of power tools when held in a stationary
mode, e.g such as a router when mounted in
a router table. The switch should be placed
in a convenient position. Trips power to the
machine should the power be momentarily cut
off. It must be bolted directly to the router table
leg or user made work board. It is not intended
for continuous production or production line
use.

so must therefore be operated with caution.
Only use tooling that meets EN847-1/2 safety
standard and any amendments.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Power Supply
The no volt release switch is designed for one
voltage only. Always check that the power
supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating
plate. Machines marked for 230 volt can also be
operated from a 220-volt supply.
Mains Plug Replacement
(UK & Ireland only)
Always check the condition of the cable and
plug before starting with your work. Should
your mains plug need replacing and you are
competent to do this, proceed as instructed
below. If you are in doubt, contact an authorized
Trend repair agent or a qualied electrician.
Disconnect the plug from the supply.

n Cut off the plug and dispose of it safely;
a plug with bared copper conductors is
dangerous if engaged in a live socket outlet.
Only t 13 Amperes BS 1363A approved

plugs tted with a 13 Amp A.S.T.A approved
BS 1362 fuse (1).
The cable wire colours, or a letter, will be
n
marked at the connection points of most
good quality plugs. Attach the wires to their
respective points in the plug (see below).
Brown is for Live (L) (2) and Blue is for
Neutral (N) (3).
Before replacing the top cover of the mains
n
plug ensure that the cable restraint (4) is
holding the outer sheath of the cable rmly
and that the two leads
are correctly xed
at the terminal
screws.

For 115V power tools we recommend to use
a 16A plug to BS4343 standard. 115V routers
over 1850W (including T10 & T11) cannot be
used with this no-volt release switch, as these
require a 32A plug.
Never use a light socket. Never connect
the live (L) or neutral (N) wires to the earth
pin marked E or .
Using an Extension Cable
n If an extension cable is required, use
an approved triple core extension cable
suitable for the power input of this tool
(see technical data). The minimum
conductor size is 1.5mm
When using a cable reel, always unwind the
n
cable completely.
Also refer to the table overleaf.

Warning: 115V units have to be operated
via a fail-safe isolating transformer with
an earth screen between the primary and
secondary wiring.

ASSEMBLY (ROUTER TABLE SHOWN)
The No Volt Release Switch should be permanently mounted at a suitable position. The
switch can be mounted to a router table leg, or
underside of the tabletop. The switch can also
be mounted onto a suitable worktop board. It is
advisable that the switch is positioned so that
red off button sits either ush or slightly proud
of the tabletop to ensure easy access. The
switch should not sit too proud as it may get
damaged.
The switch is supplied with xings for either
bolting to a metal leg or screwing into MDF or
wood. Washers should be used under the xing
screw heads.
When setting up a router table, ensure
working position is comfortable and that
the router table is secured to a workbench.
Ensure workbench is stable and secure.
Keep proper footing and balance at all
times.
OPERATION
Once the No Volt Release Switch has to been
tted to the table or stand.
n Plug a power tool into the socket on the
switch (or trailing lead for 115v version).
n Put plug of no-volt release switch into mains
supply.
n Switch on router. Router switch will need to
be locked on.
n Press green button to switch on. To switch
off press red button.

After use of the router table the switch should
remain tted to the table or stand.
Always remove the plug of the No Volt
Release Switch from the power supply
before making any adjustments.
MAINTENANCE
The accessory has been designed to operate
over a long period of time with minimum of
maintenance. Continual satisfactory operation
depends upon proper tool care and regular
cleaning.
Please use only Trend original spare parts and
accessories.
Ensure switch and machine is isolated
from power supply before carrying out any
maintenance.
Cleaning
n Regularly clean with a soft cloth.
Lubrication
n Accessory requires no additional lubrication.
Storage
n When not in use the table/stand with switch
tted should be stored safely. It is advisable
to cover the table/stand.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Recycle raw materials instead of disposing
as waste.
Accessories and packaging should be sorted
for environmental-friendly recycling.
Separate collection.
This product must not be disposed of
with normal household waste.

Safety Points
1. Disconnect power tool and attachment from power supply when
not in use, before servicing, when making adjustments and when
changing accessories such as cutters. Ensure switch is in “off”
position and cutter has stopped rotating.
2. Read and understand instructions supplied with power tool,
attachment and cutter.
3. Current Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for eye, ear and
respiratory protection must be worn. Keep hands, hair and clothes
clear of the cutter.
4. Before each use check cutter is sharp and free from damage.
Do not use if cutter is dull, broken or cracked or if any damage
is noticeable or suspected.
5. The maximum speed (nmax) marked on tool or in instructions or
on packaging shall not be exceeded. Where stated, the speed
range should be adhered to.
6. Insert the shank into the router collet at least all the way to the
marked line indicated on the shank. This ensures at least 3/4 of
shank length is held in collet. Ensure clamping surfaces are clean.
7. Check all fixing and fastening nuts, bolts and screws on power tool,
attachment and cutting tools are correctly assembled, tight and to
correct torque setting before use.
8. Ensure all visors, guards and dust extraction is fitted.
9. The direction of routing must always be opposite to the cutter’s
direction of rotation.
10. Do not switch power tool on with the cutter touching the workpiece.
11. Trial cuts should be made in waste material before starting any
project.
12. Repair of tools is only allowed according to tool manufacturers
instructions.
13. Do not take deep cuts in one pass, take shallow passes to reduce
the side load applied to the cutter.
