1INTRODUCTION
Congratulations with your purchase of the Topcom BPM wrist 2300. This fully automatic, wrist mounted blood pressure monitor is both easy to use and ideally suited for daily measurements. The large display includes systolic, diastolic and pulse, all clearly shown at the completion of each reading.
In addition, you can store up to 30 measurements per Memory Zone, ideal for users who want to monitor and track their blood pressure on a regular basis. The BPM wrist 2300 is compact and portable, making it ideal for home use and travel.
Please read this manual carefully before use. For specific information on your own blood pressure, contact your physician. Put the user guide away in a safe place for future reference.
2SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1.This product is for household use only. Is is not intended as a substitute for consultation with your doctor.
2.For users diagnosed with common arrhythmia (atrial or ventricular premature beats or atrial fibrillation), diabetes, poor circulation of blood, kidney problems, or for users suffered from stroke, or for unconscious users, the device might not be suitable for use. Consult your doctor in case of any doubt.
3.The unit should not be operated by children so to avoid hazardous situations.
4.The unit contains high-precision assemblies. Therefore, avoid extreme temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight. Avoid dropping or strongly shocking the main unit, and protect it from dust.
5.Leaky batteries can damage the unit. Remove the batteries when the unit is not used for a long time.
6.Do not press the START key when the cuff is not placed around the wrist.
7.Do not disassemble the main unit or cuff.
8.If the unit is stored in a cold place, allow it to acclimate at room temperature before use.
9.Clean the blood pressure monitor body and the cuff carefully with a slightly damp, soft cloth. Do not press. Do not bend the pre-formed cuff inside out. Do not wash the cuff or use chemical cleaner on it. Never use thinner, alcohol or petrol (gasoline) as cleaner.
10.To ensure accurate measurements, it is recommended that calibration be completed every two years.

4HELPFULL TIPS
Here are a few helpful tips to help you obtain more accurate readings:
•Do not measure your blood pressure immediately after consuming a large meal. To obtain more accurate readings, please wait one hour before measuring.
•Do not smoke or drink alcohol before measuring your blood pressure.
•You should not do be physically tired or exhausted while taking a measurement.
•It is important that you relax during measurement. Try to take 15minutes rest before a reading.
•Do not take measurements if you are under stress or under tension.
•Take your blood pressure at normal body temperature. If you are feeling cold or hot, wait a while before taking a measurement.
•If the monitor is stored at very low temperature (near freezing), have it placed at a warm location for at least one hour before using it.
•Wait about 5 minutes before taking the next pressure measurement.

5DISPOSAL OF THE DEVICE (ENVIRONMENT)
At the end of the product lifecycle, you should not throw this product into the normal household garbage but bring the product to a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipments. The symbol on the product, user guide and/or box indicate this.
Some of the product materials can be re-used if you bring them to a recycling point. By re-using some parts or raw materials from used products you make an important contribution to the protection of the environment.
Please contact your local authorities in case you need more information on the collection points in your area.
6BLOOD PRESSURE
6.1WHAT IS BLOOD PRESSURE?
Blood pressure is the pressure exerted on the artery tube while blood flows through the arteries. The pressure measured when the heart contracts and sends blood out of the heart is systolic (highest). The pressure measured when the heart dilates with blood flowing back into the heart is called diastolic (lowest) blood pressure.
6.2WHY MEASURE YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE?
Among the various health problems afflicting modern people, problems associated with high blood pressure are by far the most common. High blood pressure's dangerously strong correlation with cardiovascular diseases
and high morbidity has made measuring blood pressures a necessity of identifying those at risk.

6.3BLOOD PRESSURE STANDARD
The World Health Organization (WHO) has developed a Blood pressure standard, according to which areas of low and high-risk blood pressure are identified. This standard, however, is a general guideline as individual's blood pressure varies among different people and different groups...etc.

6.4BLOOD PRESSURE FLUCTUATION
Blood pressure fluctuates all the time!
You should not be worried if you encountered two or three measurements at high levels. Blood pressure changes over the month and even throughout the day depending on circumstances (state of mind, temperature, ...)

•Open the battery compartiment by sliding the cover away
•Insert 2 AAA batteries (LR03). Follow the polarity as indicated in the battery compartiment.
Do not shortcircuit and dispose of in fire. Remove the battery if this device is not going to be used for a long period.

10 APPLYING THE CUFF

1.Remove all watches, jewelry, etc. prior to attaching the wrist monitor.Clothing sleeves should be
rolled up and the cuff should be wrapped on bare skin for correct measurements.Apply cuff to left wrist with palm facing up.
2. Make sure the edge of the cuff is about 1 cm from the palm.In order to insure accurate-measurements.
3. Fasten the velcro strap securely around your wrist so there is no extra space between the cuff and the wrist. If the cuff is not wrapped tight enough,the measurement values will be false.

4.If your physician has diagnosed you with poor circulation on your leftarm, place the cuff around your right wrist.

11MEASURING POSTURE
1.Relax your entire body,especially the area between your elbow and fingers. Place your elbow on a table so that the cuff is at the same level
as your heart.
Your heart is located slightly below your arm pit.
2.If the cuff is not at the same level as your heart or if you can not keep
your arm completely still throughout the reading, use a soft object such as folded towel to support your arm.

3. Turn your palm upwards.Sit upright in a chair, and take 5-6 deep breaths. Avoid leaning back while the measurementis being taken.

12 MEASUREMENT
12.1IMPORTANT
1.This monitor automatically switches off 30 seconds after the last key operation.
2.To interrupt the measurement, simply press any key. The cuff will deflate immediately after a key is pressed.
3.During the measurement, do not talk or move your arm or hand muscles.

1.Press On/Start Key 1 if you want to make use of Memory Zone 1, or
Press On/Start Key 2 if you want to make use of Memory Zone 2.
All digits will light up for 2 seconds.
2.After all symbols appear, the display will show a blinking"0" with the designated Memory Zone. At this time,the monitor is "Ready to Measure".
3.The monitor automatically inflates the cuff to approximately 180 mmHg, measurement will begin.
This monitor will re-inflate automatically to approximately 220mmHg if the system detects that your body needs more pressure to measure your blood pressure.
4.When the measurement is completed, systolic, diastolicand pulse will be shown simultaneously and be saved automatically in the memory system according to the designated Memory Zone. Up to 30 measurements can be saved per Memory Zone.
When a mistake was detected during measurement the Error mark appears on the display

13MEMORY
•Press M1 to recall values from Memory Zone 1.
•Press M2 to recall values from Memory Zone 2.

All stored measurements will be assigned distinct numbers, identifying the sequence in which the values are stored. The last measurement will be shown first. Every new press of the Recall Key calls for one prior value stored.
When the batteries are installed, the data in the memories will not be lost even when the Blood Pressure Monitor is switched off. Remove the batteries for more than 10 seconds to erase the memories.

14 WARRANTY
14.1WARRANTY PERIOD
The Topcom units have a 24-month warranty period. The warranty period starts on the day the new unit is purchased. The warranty on batteries is limited to 6 months after purchase. Consumables or defects causing a negligible effect on operation or value of the equipment are not covered.
The warranty has to be proven by presentation of the original purchase receipt, on which the date of purchase and the unit-model are indicated.
14.2WARRANTY HANDLING
A faulty unit needs to be returned to a Topcom service centre including a valid purchase note.
If the unit develops a fault during the warranty period, Topcom or its officially appointed service centre will repair any defects caused by material or manufacturing faults free of charge.
Topcom will at its discretion fulfil its warranty obligations by either repairing or exchanging the faulty units or parts of the faulty units. In case of replacement, colour and model can be different from the original purchased unit.
The initial purchase date shall determine the start of the warranty period. The warranty period is not extended if the unit is exchanged or repaired by Topcom or its appointed service centres.
14.3WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
Damage or defects caused by incorrect treatment or operation and damage resulting from use of non-original parts or accessories not recommended by Topcom are not covered by the warranty.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by outside factors, such as lightning, water and fire, nor any damage caused during transportation.
No warranty can be claimed if the serial number on the units has been changed, removed or rendered illegible.

1INLEIDING
Gefeliciteerd met uw aankoop van de Topcom BPM wrist 2300. Deze volautomatische bloeddrukmeter, polsmodel, is gebruiksvriendelijk en ideaal voor dagelijkse metingen. Op het grote display worden bovendruk- (systolisch), onderdruk- (diastolisch) en polsslagwaarden weergegeven, allemaal duidelijk af te lezen op het eind van elke meting. Bovendien kunt u tot 30 metingen per Geheugenzone opslaan, ideaal voor gebruikers die hun bloeddruk regelmatig willen controleren en opvolgen. De BPM wrist 2300 is compact en draagbaar, en zo ideaal voor gebruik thuis en onderweg.
Lees deze handleiding aandachtig alvorens het toestel te gebruiken. Voor specifieke informatie over uw eigen bloeddruk, raden we u aan uw arts te raadplegen. Bewaar de gebruikershandleiding op een veilige plaats voor later gebruik.
2VEILIGHEIDSINSTRUCTIES
1.Dit toestel is enkel geschikt voor huishoudelijk gebruik. Het is niet de bedoeling om met deze meter een raadpleging bij uw dokter te vervangen.
2.Voor gebruikers die lijden aan aritmie (atriale of ventriculaire premature hartslag of atriale fibrillatie), suikerziekte, slechte bloedsomloop, nieraandoeningen, of voor gebruikers die een beroerte hebben gekregen of gebruikers die buiten bewustzijn zijn, is het toestel niet geschikt. In geval van twijfel, raadpleeg uw arts.
3.Dit toestel mag niet worden gebruikt door kinderen, anders kunnen gevaarlijke situaties ontstaan.
4.Het toestel omvat precisiecomponenten. Daarom moet het worden beschermd tegen extreme temperaturen, vochtigheid en direct zonlicht. Laat het toestel niet vallen en vermijd sterke schokken. Bescherm het tegen stof.
5.Lekkende batterijen kunnen schade aan het toestel veroorzaken. Verwijder de batterijen wanneer u het toestel langere tijd niet gebruikt.
6.Druk niet op START zolang de polsband niet rond de pols is bevestigd.
7.Demonteer het toestel of de polsband niet.
8.Als het toestel op een koude plaats wordt bewaard, laat het dan eerst op kamertemperatuur komen alvorens het te gebruiken.
9.Reinig de bloeddrukmeter en de polsband zorgvuldig met een licht vochtige, zachte doek. Oefen geen druk uit. Draai de voorgevormde polsband niet binnenstebuiten. Was de polsband niet en gebruik ook geen chemisch reinigingsmiddel om hem te reinigen. Gebruik nooit verdunner, alcohol of benzine als reinigingsmiddel.
10.Voor nauwkeurige metingen raden we u aan het toestel om de twee jaar te kalibreren.

4HANDIGE TIPS
Hieronder vindt u enkele handige tips die u helpen nauwkeurigere resultaten te verkrijgen:
•Meet uw bloeddruk niet onmiddellijk nadat u uitgebreid heeft gegeten. Om nauwkeurigere resultaten te verkrijgen, wacht u het best één uur vooraleer te meten.
•Rook niet of drink geen alcohol voordat u uw bloeddruk meet.
•Tijdens een meting mag u niet lichamelijk moe of uitgeput zijn.
•Het is belangrijk dat u tijdens de meting ontspant. Probeer 15 minuten te rusten vooraleer uw bloeddruk te meten.
•Meet uw bloeddruk niet als u gestrest of gespannen bent.
•Meet uw bloeddruk bij een normale lichaamstemperatuur. Als u het koud of warm heeft, wacht u beter een beetje vooraleer uw bloeddruk te meten.
•Als de meter op een erg koude plaats wordt opgeslagen, (dichtbij vriestemperatuur), zet hem dan gedurende minstens één uur in een warme ruimte vooraleer hem te gebruiken.
•Wacht ongeveer 5 minuten vooraleer u opnieuw uw bloeddruk meet.

5HET TOESTEL VERNIETIGEN (MILIEU)
Op het einde van de levenscyclus van het product mag u dit product niet bij het normale huishoudelijke afval gooien, maar moet u het naar een inzamelpunt brengen voor de recyclage van elektrische en elektronische apparatuur. Dit wordt aangeduid door het symbool op het product, in de handleiding en/of op de verpakking.
Sommige materialen van het product kunnen worden hergebruikt als u ze naar een inzamelpunt brengt. Door onderdelen of grondstoffen van gebruikte producten te hergebruiken, levert u een belangrijke bijdrage tot de bescherming van het milieu.
Wend u tot uw lokale overheid voor meer informatie over de inzamelpunten in uw buurt.
6BLOEDDRUK
6.1WAT IS BLOEDDRUK?
Bloeddruk is de druk die wordt uitgeoefend op de slagaderwand door het bloed dat door de slagaders stroomt. De druk die wordt gemeten wanneer het hart samentrekt en bloed uit het hart stuwt, is systolisch (bovendruk). De druk die wordt gemeten wanneer het hart uitzet door het bloed dat terugstroomt naar het hart wordt de diastolische (onderdruk) bloeddruk genoemd.
6.2WAAROM MOET U UW BLOEDDRUK METEN?
Van de verschillende gezondheidsproblemen waarmee de moderne mens heeft af te rekenen, komen problemen gepaard met een hoge bloeddruk verreweg het vaakst voor. Door de gevaarlijk sterke correlatie tussen hoge bloeddruk en cardiovasculaire aandoeningen en het hoge ziektecijfer zijn bloeddrukmetingen noodzakelijk geworden om de risicogroepen te identificeren.

6.3BLOEDDRUKNORM
De Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie (WHO) heeft een bloeddruknorm ontwikkeld aan de hand waarvan bloeddrukwaarden met laag en hoog risico worden geïdentificeerd. Die norm is echter slechts een algemene richtlijn, want de individuele bloeddruk verschilt van persoon tot persoon en van groep tot groep...enz.

Het is belangrijk dat u regelmatig uw arts raadpleegt. Uw arts zal u vertellen wat uw normale bloeddrukbereik is en vanaf welke waarde u risico loopt.
6.4BLOEDDRUKSCHOMMELING
De bloeddruk schommelt heel de tijd!
U hoeft zich nog niet ongerust te maken als u twee of drie keer een hoge bloeddruk meet. De bloeddruk verandert in de loop van de maand en zelfs in de loop van de dag, afhankelijk van de omstandigheden (gemoedsgesteldheid, temperatuur, ...)

1.Verwijder horloges, juwelen, enz.
vooraleer u de polsband bevestigt. Rol uw mouwen op en bevestig de polsband op uw naakte huid om een correcte meting te verzekeren. Bevestig de polsband op uw linkerpols met uw handpalm naar boven gericht.
2. Voor nauwkeurige metingen, moet de rand van de polsband ongeveer 1 cm van de palm van uw hand verwijderd zijn.
3. Bevestig de velcroband stevig rond uw pols zodat er geen speling is tussen de polsband en uw pols. Als de polsband niet stevig genoeg rond de pols wordt gewikkeld, zijn de meetresultaten verkeerd.

4. Als uw arts een zwakke bloedsomloop aan uw linkerarm heeft vastgesteld, bevestig de polsband dan rond uw rechterpols.

11 MEETHOUDING

12 METING
1.Ontspan heel uw lichaam, vooral het gebied tussen uw elleboog en vingers. Plaats uw elleboog op een tafel zodat de polsband op dezelfde hoogte als uw hart ligt.
Uw hart bevindt zich iets onder uw oksel.
2.Als de polsband niet op dezelfde hoogte als uw hart ligt of als u uw arm niet volledig stil kunt houden gedurende de meting, kunt u een zacht voorwerp gebruiken zoals een opgevouwen handdoek om uw arm te ondersteunen.
3.Draai uw handpalm omhoog. Zit rechtop in een stoel en haal 5-6 keer diep adem. Probeer niet achteruit te leunen tijdens de meting.
12.1BELANGRIJK
1.Deze meter schakelt automatisch uit wanneer gedurende 30 seconden geen toets wordt ingedrukt.
2.Om de meting te onderbreken, drukt u op een willekeurige toets. De polsband zal onmiddellijk leeglopen nadat op een toets is gedrukt.
3.Praat tijdens de meting niet en beweeg ook uw armof handspieren niet.

12.2PROCEDURE

1.Druk op de toets On/Start 1 als u Geheugenzone 1 wilt gebruiken, of
druk op de toets On/Start 2 als u Geheugenzone 2 wilt gebruiken
Alle cijfers lichten gedurende 2 seconden op.
2.Wanneer alle symbolen zijn verschenen, verschijnt op het scherm een knipperende "0" bij de gewenste Geheugenzone. Op dat moment is de meter "Meetklaar".
3.De meter pompt de polsband automatisch op tot ongeveer 180 mmHg, daarna begint de meting.
De meter zal de polsband automatisch verder oppompen tot ongeveer 220mmHg als het systeem detecteert dat uw lichaam meer druk nodig heeft om uw bloeddruk te meten.
4.Op het einde van de meting worden tegelijkertijd de bovendruk, onderdruk en polsslag weergegeven. Deze waarden worden automatisch opgeslagen in het geheugen, naargelang van de gekozen Geheugenzone. Per Geheugenzone kunnen max. 30 meetresultaten worden opgeslagen.
Wanneer tijdens de meting een fout wordt vastgesteld, verschijnt het Error-symbool op het scherm.

•Druk op M1 om waarden uit Geheugenzone 1 op te roepen.
•Druk op M2 om waarden uit Geheugenzone 2 op te roepen.

Aan alle opgeslagen metingen wordt een duidelijk nummer toegekend dat de volgorde waarin de waarden werden opgeslagen weergeeft. De laatste meting wordt het eerst weergegeven. Met elke druk op de Recall-toets, gaat u telkens één opgeslagen waarde terug.
Als de batterijen zijn geplaatst, gaan de gegevens in de geheugenzones niet verloren, ook niet wanneer de Bloeddrukmeter wordt uitgeschakeld.
Om de geheugenzones te wissen, verwijdert u de batterijen gedurende meer dan 10 seconden.

14 TOPCOM GARANTIE
14.1GARANTIEPERIODE
Op de Topcom-toestellen wordt een garantie van 24 maanden verleend. De garantieperiode begint op de dag waarop het nieuwe toestel wordt gekocht. De garantie op batterijen is beperkt tot 6 maanden na aankoop. Kleine onderdelen of defecten die een verwaarloosbaar effect hebben op de werking of waarde van het toestel zijn niet gedekt door de garantie.
De garantie moet worden bewezen door voorlegging van het aankoopbewijs waarop de datum van aankoop en het toesteltype staan.
14.2AFWIKKELING VAN GARANTIECLAIMS
Een defect toestel moet, samen met een geldig aankoopbewijs, worden teruggestuurd naar een Topcom-hersteldienst.
Als het toestel tijdens de garantieperiode een defect vertoont, zal Topcom of diens officieel erkende hersteldienst eventuele defecten te wijten aan materiaalof productiefouten gratis herstellen.
Topcom zal naar keuze haar garantieverplichtingen vervullen door defecte toestellen of onderdelen van defecte toestellen ofwel te herstellen ofwel te vervangen. In het geval dat het toestel wordt vervangen, kan de kleur en het model verschillend zijn van het oorspronkelijk gekochte toestel.
De oorspronkelijke aankoopdatum is bepalend voor het begin van de garantieperiode. De garantieperiode wordt niet verlengd als het toestel wordt vervangen of hersteld door Topcom of diens officieel erkende hersteldienst.
14.3GARANTIEBEPERKINGEN
Schade of defecten te wijten aan onoordeelkundig gebruik of bediening en schade te wijten aan het gebruik van niet-originele onderdelen of accessoires die niet zijn aanbevolen door Topcom, worden niet gedekt door de garantie. Topcom draadloze telefoons mogen enkel met oplaadbare batterijen worden gebruikt. Schade te wijten aan het gebruik van niet-oplaadbare batterijen is niet gedekt door de garantie.
De garantie dekt geen schade te wijten aan externe factoren, zoals bliksem, water en brand, noch enige transportschade.
Er kan geen garantie worden ingeroepen als het serienummer op het toestel is gewijzigd, verwijderd of onleesbaar gemaakt.
Garantieclaims zijn ongeldig indien het toestel hersteld, gewijzigd of aangepast werd door de koper of door niet-gekwalificeerde, niet-officieel erkende Topcom-hersteldienst.

1INTRODUCTION
Félicitations pour l’achat du Topcom BPM wrist 2300. Ce tensiomètre, entièrement automatique et se plaçant autour du poignet, est facile à utiliser et convient parfaitement à une utilisation quotidienne. Le grand écran affiche la tension systolique, la tension diastolique et le rythme cardiaque, tous trois clairement visibles à la fin de chaque cycle de mesure.
En outre, vous pouvez enregistrer jusque 30 mesures par zone de mémoire, ce qui est idéal pour les utilisateurs souhaitant contrôler et suivre leur tension artérielle sur une base régulière. Le BPM wrist 2300 est compact et portable, il est donc idéal pour une utilisation à domicile et en voyage.

2INSTRUCTIONS DE SÉCURITÉ
1.Ce produit est prévu pour un usage ménager uniquement. Il ne remplace aucunement une consultation chez votre médecin.
2.L’appareil peut ne pas convenir pour utilisateurs souffrant d’une arythmie commune (auriculaire ou ventriculaire ou fibrillation auriculaire), du diabète, d’une mauvaise circulation du sang, de problèmes rénaux, pour les utilisateurs ayant eu une attaque, ou pour les utilisateurs inconscients. Consultez votre médecin en cas de doute.
3.L’appareil ne doit pas être utilisé par des enfants en vue d’éviter toute situation dangereuse.
4.L’appareil contient des pièces de haute précision. Par conséquent, évitez les températures extrêmes, l’humidité et la lumière directe du soleil. Évitez de laisser tomber ou de donner un choc puissant à l’unité principale, et protégez-la de la poussière.
5.Une fuite des piles peut endommager l’unité. Enlevez les piles lorsque l’unité n’est pas utilisée pendant un long moment.
6.N’appuyez pas sur le bouton START lorsque l’appareil n’est pas placé autour du poignet.
7.Ne démontez pas l’unité principale ou le manchon.
8.Si l’unité est conservée dans un endroit frais, laissez-la s’acclimater à la température ambiante avant de l’utiliser.
9.Nettoyez le tensiomètre et le manchon avec un chiffon doux légèrement humide. N’appuyez pas. Ne pliez pas le manchon préformé de l’intérieur vers l’extérieur. Ne lavez pas le manchon et n’utilisez pas de nettoyant chimique dessus. N’utilisez jamais de dissolvant, d’alcool ou d’essence comme nettoyant.
10.Pour garantir des mesures précises, il est recommandé que le calibrage soit effectué tous les deux ans.

4CONSEILS UTILES
Voici quelques conseils utiles pour vous aider à obtenir des mesures plus précises :
•Ne mesurez pas votre tension artérielle immédiatement après avoir consommé un grand repas. Pour obtenir des mesures plus précises, veuillez attendre une heure avant de mesurer.
•Ne fumez pas et ne buvez pas d’alcool avant de prendre votre tension artérielle.
•Pour prendre votre tension, vous ne devez pas être fatigué physiquement.
•Il est important que vous soyez détendu pendant une mesure. Essayez de vous reposer 15 minutes avant de la prendre.
•Ne prenez pas votre tension si vous êtes stressé ou tendu.
•Prenez votre tension à température normale du corps. Si vous avez froid ou chaud, attendez un peu avant de prendre votre tension.
•Si le moniteur est conservé à des températures très basses (proches du gel), placez-le dans un endroit chauffé pendant au moins une heure avant de l’utiliser.
•Attendez environ 5 minutes avant de prendre la mesure suivante.

6TENSION ARTÉRIELLE
6.1QU’EST-CE QUE LA TENSION ARTÉRIELLE ?
La tension artérielle est la tension exercée sur les parois artérielles lorsque le sang passe dans les artères. La tension mesurée lorsque le cœur se contracte et envoie du sang hors du cœur est dite systolique (plus élevée).
