Before operating the unit, please read this manual thoroughly and retain it for future reference.
The AC-V16/V17 AC power adaptor can be used as follows:
• to charge a Sony Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) type battery pack except NP-22H
• to supply power to an 8 mm video equipment*
* This adaptor cannot be used for
some models.

AC power cord must be changed only at the qualified service shop.

To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture.
To avoid electrical shock, do not open the cabinet. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.

AC power cord plug
One blade of the plug is wider than the other for the purpose of safety and will fit into the power outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, contact your dealer.

If the plug supplied with this equipment has a detachable fuse cover, be sure to attach the fuse cover after you change the fuse. Never use the plug without the fuse cover. If you should lose the fuse cover, please contact your nearest Sony service station.

Charging the Battery Pack
(See illustration A)
1 Connect the power cord to a
wall outlet.
The POWER lamp (green) lights up.
2 Install the battery pack.
Align the right side of the battery pack with the line on the AC power adaptor, then while pressing the battery pack, slide it in the direction of the arrow.
3 Set the selector to CHARGE.
The CHARGE lamp (orange) lights up. Charging begins.
To stop charging
Set the selector to VTR.
When charging is completed
The CHARGE lamp (orange) goes out . Set the selector to VTR and unplug the unit.
To remove the battery pack
Slide the battery pack in the opposite direction of the arrow.

table may differ depending on the condition of the battery pack or the temperature of the environment.
Notes
• Video equipment cannot be operated while charging the battery pack.
• The POWER lamp will remain lit for a while even if the battery pack is removed and the power cord is unplugged after charging the battery pack. This is normal.
• If the POWER lamp does not light, set the selector to VTR and disconnect the power cord. After about one minute, reconnect the power cord and set the selector to CHARGE again.

Fiche du cordon d'alimentation secteur
Une lame de la fiche est plus grande que l'autre pour des raisons de sécurité et la fiche ne rentre dans la prise que dans un seul sens. Si la fiche ne peut pas être insérée à fond dans la prise, contacter le concessionnaire Sony.
Cet appareil est conforme aux limites de Classe B relatives au brouillage radioélectrique, telles que mentionnées dans la Réglementation sur les interférences radio.
Recharge de la batterie rechargeable

1 Brancher le cordon
d’alimentation sur une prise murale.
Le témoin POWER (vert) s’allume.
2 Installer la batterie
rechargeable.
Aligner le côté droit de la batterie rechargeable sur la ligne sur l'adaptateur secteur, puis tout en appuyant sur la batterie rechargeable, la pousser dans le sens de la flèche.
3 Régler le sélecteur sur CHARGE.
Le témoin CHARGE (orange) s'allume. La recharge commence.
Pour arrêter la recharge
Régler le sélecteur sur VTR.
Quand la recharge est terminée
Le témoin CHARGE (orange) s’éteint Régler le sélecteur sur VTR et débrancher l’adaptateur.
Pour enlever la batterie rechargeable
Pousser la batterie rechargeable dans le sens opposé à la flèche.

Remarques
• Il est impossible de faire fonctionner l’appareil vidéo pendant la recharge de la batterie.
• Il est normal que le témoin POWER reste allumé quelques instants après avoir enlevé la batterie rechargeable et débranché le cordon d’alimentation quand la recharge est terminée.
• Si le témoin POWER ne s’allume pas, régler le sélecteur sur VTR et débrancher le cordon d’alimentation. Au bout d’une minute environ, rebrancher le cordon d’alimentation secteur et régler de nouveau le sélecteur sur CHARGE.

Carga de una batería
(Consulte la ilustración A )
1 Conecte el cable de
alimentación a una toma de la red.
La lámpara POWER (verde) se encenderá.
2 Coloque la batería.
Alinee el lado derecho de la batería y después, presionando la batería con la línea del adaptador de alimentación de ca, deslícela en el sentido de la flecha.
3 Ponga el selector en CHARGE.
La lámpara CHARGE (anaranjada) se encenderá. Se iniciará la carga.
Para detener la carga
Ponga el selector en VTR.
Cuando finalice la carga
La lámpara CHARGE (anaranjada) apagará Ponga el selector en VTR y desenchufe la unidad.
Para quitar la batería
Deslícela en el sentido opuesto al de la flecha.

• Durante la carga o descarga no podrá operar el equipo de vídeo.
• Después de completar la carga, aunque saque la batería y desenchufe el cable de alimentación, la lámpara POWER permanecerá encendida durante cierto tiempo. Pero esto es normal.
• Si la lámpara POWER no se enciende, ponga el selector en VTR y desconecte el cable de alimentación. Después de aproximadamente un minuto, conecte el cable de alimentación nuevamente y ponga otra vez el selector en CHARGE.

Der Netzadapter AC-V16/V17 kann für folgende Zwecke eingesetzt werden:
• Zum Laden eines Sony Nickel­Cadmium-Akkus (Ni-Cd) außer NP-22H.
• Zur Stromversorgung eines 8­mm-Videogerätes*.
* Dieser Adapter kann bei einigen
Modellen nicht verwendet werden.

Das Netzkabel darf nur von einem Fachmann ausgewechselt werden.

Um Feuer und elektrische Schlaggefahr zu vermeiden, darf der Adapter weder Regen noch Feuchtigkeit ausgesetzt werden.
Um die Gefahr eines elektrischen Schlages zu vermeiden, öffnen Sie nicht das Gehäuse und überlassen Sie Wartungsarbeiten nur einem Fachmann.
Laden des Akkus
(Siehe Abb. A )
1 Verbinden Sie das Netzkabel
mit einer Wandsteckdose.
Die POWER-Anzeige (grün) leuchtet auf.
2 Bringen Sie den Akku an:
Richten Sie die rechte Seite des Akkus auf die Linie am Netzadapter aus, und schieben Sie ihn unter leichtem Druck in Pfeilrichtung.
3 Stellen Sie den Wähler auf
CHARGE.
Die CHARGE-Anzeige (orange) leuchtet auf, und der Ladevorgang beginnt. Zum Stoppen des Lade- oder Entladevorgangs nehmen Sie den Akku ab und trennen Sie den netzadapter ab.
Zum Stoppen des Ladevorgangs
Stellen Sie den Wähler auf VTR.
Am Ende des Ladevorgangs
Die CHARGE-Anzeige (orange) leuchtet auf. Stellen Sie den Wähler dann auf VTR, und trennen Sie den Adapter ab.
Zum Abnehmen des Akkus
Schieben Sie den Akku in der entgegengesetzten Pfeilrichtung.

Hinweise
• Während des Ladevorgangs kann das Videogerät nicht betrieben werden.
•Nach der Herausnahme des Akkus und dem Herausziehen des Netzsteckers leuchtet die POWER­Anzeige noch einige Zeit weiter. (Es handelt sich dabei nicht um eine Störung des Geräts.)
• Wenn die POWER-Anzeige nicht leuchtet, stellen Sie den Wähler auf VTR, und trennen Sie das Netzkabel ab. Nach etwa einer Minute schließen Sie das Netzkabel wieder an, und stellen Sie den Wähler erneut auf CHARGE.
