Configuring a Samsung Propel a766 for MMS and Browser with a Solo SIM Card on the HSPA+
Network

The following instructions can be used to manually configure the settings on an unlocked
a766 phone for MMS and Browser with a Solo SIM

Card.

Samsung Propel

1. Follow the instructions in the user manual to install your Solo SIM

Card into the phone.

2. Power on the phone.
Browser settings

3. From the idle screen, press the Menu soft key, then select Settings > Connectivity > Network
Profiles.

4. Press Options (left soft key), then select New.

5. Enter the following information in each of the fields:

Set Name: Bell WAP Connection (can be anything)
Access Name: pda.bell.ca
Auth Type: select Normal
User ID: <leave blank>
Password: <leave blank>
Protocol: select HTTP
Home URL: http://homepage
Proxy address: 206.47.201.84
Port: 80
Linger Time (sec.): 300

6. Highlight Advanced Settings, and then press Edit (middle soft key). Enter the following:
Static IP: <leave blank>
Static DNS: <leave blank>
Traffic Class: select Subscribed

7. Press OK (left soft key).

8. Press Save (left soft key).

9. Navigate to Menu > Settings > Applications Settings > Browser Settings.

10. Scroll and highlight the network profile name created above (Bell WAP Connection) and press Select
(middle soft key).

MMS settings

11. From the idle screen, press the Menu soft key, then select Settings > Connectivity > Network
Profiles.

12. Press Options (left soft key), then select New.
Enter the following information in each of the fields:

Set Name: Bell MMS Connection (can be anything)
Access Name: pda.bell.ca
Auth Type: select Normal
User ID: <leave blank>
Password: <leave blank>
Protocol: select HTTP
Home URL: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
Proxy address: 206.47.201.84
Port: 80
Linger Time (sec.): 300

14. Highlight Advanced Settings, and then press Edit (middle soft key). Enter the following:
Static IP: <leave blank>

Traffic Class: select Subscribed

15. Press OK (left soft key).

16. Press Save (left soft key).

17. Navigate to Menu > Settings > Applications Settings > Messages Settings > Picture Message
> Picture Message Profiles.

18. Scroll and highlight the network profile name created above (Bell MMS Connection) and press Select
(middle soft key).
