tures between 40° and 95°F,or it could
decrease the battery’s life.
Make sure the unit is turned off.
Connect the cord to the unit, then plug
the charging adapter into the electrical
outlet.A charging indicator will light up.
Your unit cannot be overcharged,so you

pressing its tab in toward the door and

the end opposite the tab and then

To prevent battery corrosion,the unit

recharged batteries impairs the
performance of the cutting unit.
? If the BKT-1000 doesn’t turn on:
The batteries may be improperly installed.
The trimmer will not operate
unless the
batteries are positioned correctly.
The batteries may be depleted.Replace
them with 2 new AAA alkaline batteries.

Usage Tips
Before Using Your Tr i m m e r
BKT-2000
Charge the unit for 14 hours before
first use.
Unplug the charging adapter from the
trimmer before using.
The BKT-2000 is a wet/dry trimmer, so
feel free to use it in the shower.
BKT-1000
Install 2 AAA alkaline batteries (See
"Inserting the batteries" above.)
The BKT-1000 is for dry use only.Avoid
using lotions before trimming.
Tr i m m i n g
Use the Thumb Wheel to set the trimmer
comb to the desired length setting. It’s a
good idea to begin trimming at one of
the longest settings (4 or 5) to avoid
accidentally trimming hair too short.As
you become familiar with the settings,
you can then select your desired length
setting.
Turn the unit on.
Place the flat top of the trimmer comb
against the skin.
Slowly slide the trimmer through hair.
Repeat from different directions as
necessary.
If hair builds up in the trimmer comb
during the trimming process,shut the
unit off, pull off the adjustable trimmer
comb and brush it off.
For an even closer look and precise
shaping,remove the adjustable trimmer
comb and trim the hairs along the outer
edge.
When you are finished, turn the trimmer
off, clean it,and return it to its storage
pouch.
! Never use trimmer with damaged or
broken cutter units.
? If the cutters do not move:
The cutting unit may be dirty and
clogged.Clean and lubricate the unit as
described on the next page.
Clean Your Groomer
R e g u l a r l y
Clean your trimmer regularly to ensure that
the unit’s operating life is not prematurely

in the "How to
Use" section
above.)

the cutter teeth
to pop off the
cutter assembly.

out any accumulated hairs.
If you have the BKT-2000,you may
also rinse it under running water.
Cleaning cautions:
Do not use water on any part of the
BKT-1000.It is not water-tight.
Only the adjustable trimmer comb and
cutter assembly may be removed from
the trimmers for cleaning.
Cleaning should only be done with a
soft brush, such as the brush supplied
with the units.
Do not use harsh or corrosive cleaners
on the units or their cutters.
Do not apply pressure or hard objects
to cutters.
Do not disassemble cutter set.
Oiling the Blades
Your trimmer is fitted with high-quality
stainless steel cutting blades,which
will remain permanently lubricated in a
dry environment. Your BKT-1000 will
never need oiling.
If you use your BKT-2000 in the show-
er or rinse it under running water, you
will periodically need to add a drop of
oil to the cutting blades to keep them
operating at peak performance.Simply
remove the adjustable trimmer comb
and place a drop of oil on the teeth of
the cutter assembly.
Oil cautions
Use only the light-grade oil supplied
or a suitable alternative like sewing
machine oil—these oils will not
evaporate and will not slow down
the blades.
Do not use hair oil, grease,or any
oil mixed with kerosene or solvent,
as the solvent will evaporate and
leave the thick oil,slowing the
blades.

cord in a moisture-free area.
