Nauto Installation Guide | Overview
PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines for the installation of the Nauto Device. The installation guidelines, specifications, materials and examples provided in this document are for information purposes only, are non-exhaustive, and shall not be relied upon for the specific installation in any vehicle. This guide is not intended to replace other regulatory requirements in the jurisdiction where the Nauto Device is installed or used.
Before starting the Nauto Device installation and configuring the system, please ensure that you have read this guide thoroughly. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the installation of the Nauto Device, please contact Nauto Support at 1 (888) 628-8690 or support@nauto.com.
WARNING
This equipment may only be located in a position where it cannot interfere with the normal and safe operation of the vehicle, or present a hazard to the driver, or passengers. When routing all cables ensure that the insulation does not become worn or damaged. All cabling must be secured utilizing industry standard methods.
If you are unsure about the placement or installation of this equipment, stop work, and contact your Nauto representative immediately.
Under no circumstances should any part of the Nauto system be installed inside the engine compartment area.
This equipment should not be operated in hazardous environments, or areas that contain explosive materials or flammable vapors.
This equipment should not be operated in aircraft or in close proximity to medical equipment.
Unauthorized changes or alterations to the equipment may invalidate Nauto warranty, and may also affect the vehicle manufacturers warranty.

This guide is not written for any specific vehicle since the proper wiring and installation of electronics differs for each vehicle. Installation should be completed by qualified individuals who are trained to wire electronics such as the Nauto Device. It is your responsibility to know how to wire in electronics such as the Nauto Device for your specific vehicle. Improper wiring may cause injury or damage and void the warranty. Any changes or modification to the Nauto Device not expressly approved by Nauto or the entity responsible for compliance may void any warranties and your authority to operate the Nauto Device.

Safety Warnings
DO NOT INGEST BATTERY. CHEMICAL BURN HAZARD
The Nauto mark button supplied with the N3 device contains a coin/button cell battery. If the coin/button cell battery is swallowed it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death.
Keep new and used batteries away from children.
If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.
If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
CAUTION
Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect type.

FCC STATEMENT
NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are
signed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates uses and can radiate radio
de frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
-Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
-Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
FCC RF Radiation Exposure Content:
1. This Transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter, except in accordance with FCC multi-transmitter product procedures.
2. This equipment is authorized only for Fixed or Mobile applications and is required to be installed as such.
3. This equipment must be installed and operated with a minimum separation of 20 cm (8 in.) between the equipment and users/bystanders at all times.

Installation Tool List
The following tools are recommended to perform installation of the Nauto Device.
q Digital multimeter with sharp leads (or wire
piercing leads)
q Razor knife
q 3M Super 33 electrical tape
q Wire strippers (self strippers)
q Wire crimpers (capable of crimping insulated
terminals)
q Deep 1/4" drive metric sockets (5.5 mm
and 7-13mm)
q T5 To rx driver with handle
q Tri m panel removal tool
q 8” or 11” black zip/nylon ties
q 18 AWG ring terminals
q #6 x ½ in. self tapping screws
q Compact cordless 1/4" impact driver with hex
drive
q #2 Phillips drill bit
The following tools are recommended based on the preferred connection method:
