AV Processor Amplifier
The Quad 77 AV can be used alone, with the 77
pre-amplifier, or with the 77 integrated amplifier.
Abundant features, perfect integration with our System
console, and an inbuilt communications bus, mean that it
can control a basic, starter-level surround sound system
or a full videophile array with multiple power amplifiers
with equal ease.
Amongst its wealth of features, the 77 includes
twenty-five presets to store level settings for individual
channels and mode. There are nine modes: three Dolby
Pro Logic; two Dolby 3; and four effects modes for
non-Dolby material. All basic functions — source, display
on/off, bypass, balance, volume, stand-by — are
eccessible from the elegant facia panel, while other
settings fall under the control of the Quad System
Console.
The 77 AV uses the analogue devices SSM21 25 Pro Logic
decoder chip and incorporates a 70W centre channel
power amplifier. It provides three auxiliary inputs and
has a sub-woofer output with switchable high-pass filter
for front left and right speakers. Set-up is automatic
using a microphone and in-built noise source.
