R 350 4m atic. An all -new 302-hp V -6 accelerates more eagerly yet
delivers higher fuel economy. Its advanced rapid-multispark ignition
and high-pressure Direct Injection fine- tune its performance every few
milliseconds. The R 350 4matic’s 7- speed automatic transmission has
been reengineered for quicker, smoother shifts and elevated efficiency.

R 350 BlueTEC. With a massive 400 -lb -ft of torque, the clean - diesel
R- Class makes light work of passing and merging. With an estimated
24 highway mpg,2 the R 350 BlueTEC can go up to 500 miles on a tank
of fuel, even B5 Biodiesel.3 Its advanced BlueTEC technology converts

Bi -Xenon headlamps. With the optional Lighting
Package, Bi-Xenon headlamps pierce the night with
light that’s closer in perception to natural daylight
than halogen headlamps. The package also includes
headlamp washers that help to keep the lamps
cleaner with a high- pressure spray of fluid.

LED lighting. Brilliant white LED Daytime Running
Lamps and LED taillamps help make your presence
and your actions more immediately apparent to
other drivers on the road. For the brake lamps, the
light- emitting diodes illuminate more rapidly than
conventional bulbs — a benefit that may offer added
reaction time to a driver behind your R- Class.

Blind Spot Assist. This optional system can alert the
driver to some unseen vehicles in the adjacent lane.4
When sensors in the rear bumper detect a vehicle to
either side, a red icon illuminates in the appropriate
side mirror. Should you activate your turn signal for a
lane change while the system is sensing a vehicle in
your blind spot, a warning tone will also sound.

PRE-SAFE. A Mercedes-Benz first, PRE -SAFE can
detect instability during certain vehicle maneuvers
that suggest a collision or rollover is imminent.
It can then tighten the front seat belts, and even
close the windows and sunroof, all in an effort
to better prepare the occupants in the precious
moments before an accident happens.

Emergency sensing. Two safety systems originally
pioneered by Mercedes-Benz help you avoid potential
collisions. The Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
monitors the vehicle’s response to driving inputs
such as steering and braking, and responds to help
keep it on course during evasive maneuvers.1 Brake
Assist can apply full braking pressure if it detects an
emergency braking situation — based on how quickly
the driver steps on the brake pedal — potentially
shortening your overall stopping distance.

Towing. Every R- Class can tow up to 3,500 lbs with
the optional trailer hitch.7 Standard Trailer Stability
Assist integrates with the sensors for ESP to detect
trailer oscillation when towing. If it senses the onset
of sway, it applies the front brakes of the R-Class to
help bring both the vehicle and trailer under control.

Eight standard air bags. Within the high- strength
steel -reinforced uni -body structure of the R -Class,
eight air bags offer 12 total ways of protection, the
most of any crossover. In addition to dual -stage front
air bags and four side-impact air bags, side curtain
air bags are provided for all three seating rows.

Advanced restraints. A 3- point seat belt and an
adjustable head restraint are provided at every
seating position. Outboard seat belts in the first
two seating rows are equipped with Emergency
Tensioning Devices (ETDs) and belt-force limiters.
And in a rear impact, NECK- PRO active front head
restraints help to prevent whiplash- type injuries.

Post- collision response. In the event that an air bag
or a seat - belt ETD deploys, the optional Mercedes­Benz mbrace® system includes Automatic Collision
Notification, which initiates a call to our 24 -hour
emergency response center — even if you cannot.9
In addition, the R- Class can automatically shut off its
engine and fuel supply, turn on the hazard flashers
and some of the interior lights, partially open the
windows to help ventilate the cabin, and unlock the
doors in an effort to assist rescuers.

standard COMAND system unites DVD audio and video with hard-drive navigation

and a high-resolution 6.5" color screen. It responds to your normal voice, reports

on nearby traffic, and even offers built-in Zagat® Survey ratings for restaurants,

hotels and golf courses. A multifunction steering wheel lets you adjust the audio,

personalize vehicle settings and use the standard Bluetooth® interface without

taking a hand from its leather- wrapped rim. And an optional rear view camera

Close at hand. Conveniently placed buttons
on the steering wheel put the most frequently
used features right at your fingertips. You can
adjust the audio system, use the Bluetooth®
wireless inter face,10 and thumb through the
various screens of the multifunction display
in the instrument cluster, all while keeping
your hands on the wheel.

Far and wide. Your standard listening choices
are virtually limitless: an in - dash 6 -DVD/CD
audio/video changer and memor y card reader,
HD Radio™ stations, over 130 nationwide
channels of SiriusXM Satellite Radio,11 iPod®
integration,12 and a 4GB Music Register for
storing your digital music. The Premium 2
Package adds to that an 11-speaker harman/
kardon LOGIC7® system that outputs 610 watts
of Dolby® Digital 5.1 surround sound.

Wherever you go. Newly standard for 2012, the
navigation system13 features a fast 40GB hard
drive. In addition to live SiriusXM Traffic,11 it offers
thousands of points of interest, along with Zagat
Survey ratings for many destinations. Enhanced
Voice Control lets you find addresses by speaking
normally, with no need to spell out city names.

When you return. The optional PARKTRONIC
system can help alert you to nearby obstacles,
using ultrasonic sensors in the front and rear
bumpers and illuminated displays in the cabin.
The Premium 1 Package includes a rear view
camera14 that displays a live image in the dash
when you shift to Reverse. On- screen guidelines
move as you turn the steering wheel, to help
you maneuver with ease and expertise.

top-stitched upholstery. You adjust your reclining backrest and head restraint to

your liking, and as you gaze out the tinted - glass power window, you take in the

these same generous terms are inclusive of the second and third rows as well.

Four wide-opening doors welcome all six — or optionally seven — passengers into

brushed -metal accents. And throughout any journey, the ambience is maintained

by a standard power glass sunroof and climate control with dual comfort zones —

or even an optional 3- zone system. The unique appeal of the R- Class is not just

the first-class travel experience, but the courtesy that’s extended to all aboard.

Gracious. Front seats power-adjust eight ways
and include 4-way power lumbar support for the
driver. The optional Premium 1 Package includes
a power steering column, power - folding side
mirrors, and a 3- position driver- seat memory that
also recalls the steering- column and side-mirror
settings. Additional options include heated front
seats, plus a choice of heating or wood/leather
trim for the multifunction steering wheel.

Generous. With more than 36" of legroom, the
spacious second row features standard dual
seats that slide fore –aft and provide reclining
seatbacks. An optional center seat (shown) brings
the total seating capacity to seven, or folds down
to form a large center armrest. Each seat in the
second row and the 50/50- split third row folds
down individually, for countless configurations of
passengers and up to 85.0 cu ft of cargo.

Scenic. A standard power tilt/sliding glass
sunroof, rear privacy glass and power rear vent
windows make it easy to achieve the ideal balance
of light and breezy. The optional Panorama roof
features a giant span of heat- reflecting tinted
glass, along with a power front section that tilts
up or slides open, plus a power internal sunshade.

Serene. The standard dual- zone climate control
includes dust and pollen filtration, along with
an activated charcoal filter that helps to remove
odors from the cabin air. Optional 3- zone climate
control adds separate rear-cabin air conditioning.
Dual control panels allow passengers in both the
first and second rows to adjust the rear system.

Supportive. The Premium 1 Package includes a
power liftgate for easier loading and unloading of

20" twin 5- spoke wheels. With wishbone-shaped spokes and precise
engineering, these 20" wheels add poise and presence to your R-Class.

Rear Seat Entertainment system. Offer front-row entertainment to
your rear- seat passengers. Dual 7" monitors behind each front head
restraint can play separate DVDs or attach external devices via USB
and SD card slots. They can also play the same movie on both screens.
Two pairs of wireless headsets and a wireless remote are included, to
maximize passenger enjoyment while minimizing driver distraction.

Roof cargo containers. These lightweight, durable and aerodynamically
designed containers add up to 16 cu ft of space for luggage and sports
equipment. Each container attaches to the accessory roof-rack basic

paying attention to traffic and street signs. The driver should utilize the system’s audio cues while driving and should only
consult the map or visual displays once the vehicle has been stopped in a safe place. Maps do not cover all areas or all routes

14 Rear view camera does not audibly notify driver of nearby objects and is not a substitute for actively checking around the

vehicle for any obstacles or people. Images displayed may be limited to camera field of view, weather, lighting conditions and
