For many drivers, an SUV has replaced the sedan as the
default automobile in their life. It’s not hard to figure out
why: A commanding view of the road and a flexible cabin
are advantages whose appeal might outweigh what a lot
of SUVs ask you to give up in handling or efficiency. For
Mercedes- Benz, however, sacrifice has never been part
of the regimen of developing a vehicle. Which is why,
no matter where you plan to travel in your SUV, where
it comes from matters just as much as where it can go.

The 2017 GLC is one of five lines of Mercedes-Benz
SUVs, and it advances a pioneering spirit few, if any,
competitors can match. Its lineage draws directly from
the first all - wheel- drive vehicle, introduced by Daimler
in 1909 — along with the first car and truck some 20 years
earlier. Its family tree includes such adventure heroes
as the G -Class and Unimog, as well as true action stars
like the record-setting Blitzen Benz, Silver Arrow and
300 SLR racecars. Its bio reads like a glossar y of driving
innovations, with breakthroughs in safety, comfort and

convenience that have repeatedly set new standards for
the entire industry. The GLC was created to raise that
bar anew, by being the Mercedes- Benz of midsize SUVs.

For 2017, the versatile GLC 300 and GLC 300 4matic are
joined by the AMG GLC 43. Behind its chrome- tipped
grille, it’s received a deep infusion of AMG performance.

Between the Star up front and the power liftgate of any
GLC, you’ll discover more than high tech, high style and
high quality. You’ll find your design sense piqued, and
your sense of enjoyment at a new peak. Its luxuries will

With its iconic central Star, the GLC’s grille bears more
than a passing resemblance to the face of a Mercedes­Benz sports car. They’re not merely speaking the same
design language. They share a bloodline with a passion
for the redline. A racing legacy that goes back to the first
checkered flag. And a history of firsts that redefined
performance, like the 4- wheel independent suspension,
fuel injection, and electronic traction control.

The milestones behind the GLC would mean nothing if
they didn’t enhance ever y mile ahead of you. Which is
why Mercedes- Benz engineers have advanced, adapted
and accelerated all of those firsts, and countless others,
for generations — the latest of which underpin the 2017
GLC. The GLC 300’s 2.0L inline -4 turbo engine outputs
241 hp. More importantly, it puts 100% of its torque — an
impressive 273 lb -ft — at your command starting at just
1,300 rpm. The compact engine’s big punch comes from
state - of-the- art technology like a quick- spooling turbo.
High-pressure Direct Injection and multispark ignition
precisely self-tune not just every few miles, but every
few milliseconds — squeezing fuel into a molecular mist,
and firing the spark plugs up to four times in a row.
That adds up to 0–60 mph in as little as 6.3 seconds,3

with up to 28 highway mpg.4 Converting numbers into
emotions, it means quick response when taking off from
a stoplight, merging into traffic, or climbing a grade.

A smooth, quick-shifting 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic
teams with sporty rear-wheel drive or the year-round
confidence of 4matic® all - wh eel drive.* Agi le, ef fic ient
and lightweight, 4matic distributes the engine’s torque
to the wheels that can best turn grip into go5 — w i t h ou t
any sacrifice in highway fuel economy or dry-road fun.

The GLC 300’s standard 4-wheel multilink suspension
and 18" wheels handle corners with expertise. Selective
damping lets the shock absorbers respond to the road,
firming up in corners yet keeping the ride refined. With
AIR BODY CONTROL,* self -leveling and height-adjusting
air spring-struts can adapt to roads and loads, and even
lower the rear of the vehicle for easier cargo -loading. A
variety of 18", 19" and 20" wheels1 are also available.

And since your driving style can vary based on location,
conditions or your driving mood, multimode DYNAMIC
SELECT lets you dial in the throttle, shif ting, chassis and
more, from Comfort to Sport+, via a console button.

ENHANCED LIGHTING EXPRESSIVE LINES

Whether helping you to see or be seen, the GLC’s exterior
lighting does it all with eye-catching style. All models feature
light -sensing auto -on/off headlamps and bright white LED
Daytime Running Lamps ( DRLs). LED headlamps* pierce the
night with a color more like natural daylight. Using LEDs for
all their functions, their arching DRLs flow into the GLC’s side
sculpting. They also include LED taillamps with a “twin torch”
design. As a further upgrade, active LED headlamps* swivel
their beams as you steer, to help brighten curves and turns.
They also adapt the high beams to traffic ahead, to illuminate
as far as possible without creating glare for other drivers.

With a wind -honed shape and track- toned muscle, the GLC
cuts a dashing profile. Two styling packages* let you sharpen
its looks — and handling — to an even finer edge. The GLC 300
Sport Package bo lts a set of 19" AMG® twin 5-spoke wheels1
over perforated front brakes with painted calipers. Deeper
AMG front and rear aprons feature large front air intakes.
Topstitched door and dash trim brings the flair inside, too.
Most of these items are standard on the AMG GLC 43. To all
this, a Night Package for either model cloaks various exterior
elements in gloss or matte black — with an option to upgrade
the GLC 300 to the GLC 43’s 20" AMG multispoke wheels.

CREATED TO A DVA NCE A STANDARD

EXTENDED SUPPORT EXPANSIVE SPACE

The GLC’s front seats are carefully tailored and contoured
for enduring comfort. Both front seats power-adjust at least
eight ways, via intuitive seat-shaped controls. The 3- position
driver - seat memory also stores the positions of the 4- way
power steering column and side mirrors. Power adjustment
of the head - restraint height, a 4 -way lumbar support and an
extendable cushion for thigh support are also standard for
the driver, and optional for the front passenger. For added
enjoyment year- round, front- seat options include soothing
heat (standard on the GLC 43) and cooling ventilation. And
a heated steering wheel is available with most upholsteries.

Wide rear doors welcome passengers into a rear cabin that’s
generous with room and thoughtful with details. Standard
amenities include adjustable air vents, large door pockets,
a folding center armrest with cupholders, and express- up/
down power windows with deep- tinted privacy glass. There’s
ample room for your head and feet — and not just while you’re
seated, but as you enter and exit as well. Just like the front
cabin, the hand-finished upholstery and trim reflect the fine
tailoring you expect in a Mercedes- Benz. First-rate options
that also benefit the second row include a giant, tinted-glass
Panorama roof, heated seats, and side- window sunblinds.

CRAFTED TO UPHOLD A LEGACY

EXCLUSIVE ATMOSPHERE ENCHANTING AMBIENCE

The first thing you notice upon settling into the driver seat of
a GLC is how it doesn’t feel at all like you’re settling. Every
surface reveals a premium finish and artful design. The wide
console cascades between the seats, yet legroom is ample.
Satin aluminum rings the air vents, pleasing your eye as much
as the “click” of their adjusters rewards your touch. Switches
for the dual– zone climate control and vehicle functions look
and feel as precise as the systems they operate. Beneath it all
is a core of eco-friendly elements such as steam-expanded
foam padding, and products using flax, coconut and olives.

suspension, sizable brakes, aggressive bodywork, 20" AMG®
wheels,1 and exclusive cabin details. Its AMG - enhanced 362- hp
V6 biturbo engine and paddle- shifted 9G -TRONIC 9-speed
transmission can catapult you to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds.3
AMG Performance 4matic sends 69% of the engine’s 384 lb- ft
of torque to the rear wheels, for surer launches and dexterous
handling.5 AMG DYNAMIC SELECT’s five drive modes let you
fine -tune performance settings — from the shift points to the
damping settings of the AMG Sport Suspension based on AIR
BODY CONTROL. Silver chrome accents in the AMG front and
rear aprons complement the chrome- tipped diamond -block
grille and gloss black side mirrors. GLC 43 options include a
Head- Up Display6 and an array of 20" or 21" AMG wheels.

Mercedes -Benz engineers have gone to great lengths — and widths — to make the GLC cargo area

a perfect fit for your spontaneous life. The result is a wide-open space that’s pre-filled with good

thinking, from seatbacks that lie down with a touch, to rich finishes that stand the test of time.

Considering how eagerly the GLC lives up to the “sport”
part of “SUV,” you might be surprised how brilliantly it
does utility, too. Its wide power liftgate reveals a richly
carpeted cargo area offering generous luggage space —
even with three rear passengers comfortably seated.
You’ll also find useful touches like a 12-volt power port,
gro ce r y b a g hoo k s, an d a pa rc el ne t on th e s id e . C hr o me ­plated tie-down hooks help you secure your cargo in
place,7 while a retractable/removable luggage cover
helps keep it away from prying eyes. The Premium 2
Package* includes a floor cargo net, plus a collapsible
crate that stows in the compar tment beneath the flo or.

The rear seat folds down in a 40/20/40 split to make
way for various combinations of people and packages,
from long, narrow items like skis to big boxes. Remote
controls — located near each rear-side door and in the
cargo area — lower the seatbacks with a button’s touch.
With all of the rear seats folded down, a GLC can take
on 56.5 cu ft of cargo. HANDS -FREE ACCESS* lets you
open and close the liftgate with a gentle foot motion
under the bumper — helpful when your arms are full.
And to make loading even easier, AIR BODY CONTROL*
can lower the GLC by 1.6" via a but ton in the cargo area.

The standard 7" high- resolution color central display stays
vivid without a bulky visor. Its slim design lets it be placed
higher, nearer to your view of the road. A central controller
on the console — where your hand naturally falls — gives you
intuitive access to audio and vehicle settings. Its rotar y knob
controls carousel-style menus that use realistic animations.
With COMAND® navigation,* the screen is supersized to 8.4"
and the controller adds a touchpad. Using smartphone- like
gestures, you can pinch to zoom on a map, swipe through
menus, and even write an address with your finger.8 Maps
offer detailed 3D views, and lane guidance before a turn.

SELECT lets you tune the performance character of your GLC
to all these factors at the flip of a switch. Five programs —
from Comfort to Sport+ to an Individual mode you set up à la
carte — adapt various parameters to suit the situation. Each
profile sets up the throttle mapping, shift points, steering
feel, ECO Star t/Stop, and AIR BODY CONTROL* suspension
to tailor the GLC to the road you’re on, or the mood you’re in.

Whether you’re running around town or on a road trip, the GLC
offers you nearly limitless listening options. You can stream
from your Bluetooth® device, or via apps2 like iHeartRadio.®

And the Burmester® Surround Sound System* is a treat for
your senses. Germany ’s renowned crafters of high- end home

AIR OF EXCLUSIVITY

No other SUV in the GLC’s class offers the ride and handling
benefits of AIR BODY CONTROL.* At each of the four wheels,
a multi-chamber air spring-strut continuously adjusts to the
road surface, vehicle loading, and DYNAMIC SELECT mode.
Comfor t and Sport damping profiles favor a smoother ride
or flatter cornering, while 4-wheel automatic leveling helps
keep the GLC on an even keel as passengers and cargo loads
vary. The air suspension can be raised by the driver to help
handle deep ruts or steep approaches, while it self- lowers
