What is a Remote Laundry Monitor?

A Remote Laundry Monitor (RLM) is a small digital display unit that uses your home’s existing electrical wiring to receive information from your LG Washing Machine and Dryer in your laundry room and display it for you in any other location that you choose within your home.

1 Connecting the Power

If the pins of the power plug are contaminated, wipe it clean.

It may cause electric shock or fire.

Always grasp the plug when you unplug the power cord.

Unplugging the power cord by pulling on the cord itself could damage the cord, resulting in overheating or fire.

2 When Using Products

Do not install the monitor in an enclosed place. It must have unrestricted air flow.

Overheating may cause plastic components to deform and may even cause fire.

Do not install where the unit might get wet (near a bath tub or sink), or where it might be exposed to rain (on a patio or deck).

It may cause electric shock, fire, malfunction, or warpage.

Do not install the unit in a dusty environment.

It may cause fire or electric shock.

Do not place heavy objects on the power cord.

It may cause fire or electric shock.

Do not cover the power cord with a rug.

If the covered power cord is damaged, it may cause fire or electric shock.

If the inside of the unit has been exposed to water, unplug the unit, then call the Service Center.

Do not operate the unit with the cover removed.

This may cause the risk of fire or electric shock.

Never place the unit near heat sources.

Stop using the unit if smoke or strange smell occurs.

If the unit is subsequently used, it may cause fire or electric shock.

If it occurs, unplug the unit and call an authorized service center.

Do not disassemble or modify the unit. Take the unit to an authorized service center when service is required.

If a gas leak occurs, do not touch the power plug or operate the equipment. Open a window to ventilate. Do not use your home or cellular telephone. Do not operate any switches or appliances.

Call the appropriate emergency personnel (911, fire, rescue, gas company) from a neighbor’s phone.

Installation

PLC (Power Line Communication) Modem

The PLC (Power Line Communication) Modem is necessary in order to use the Remote Laundry Monitor.

1.Remove the 2 Screws of the Safety Cover on the rear of the Washing Machine or Dryer. (ref. Picture 1)

2.Place the PLC Modem into position on the appliance. (ref. Picture 2)

3.Secure the modem with the 2 screws removed from the safety cover (Refer to Picture 3).

4.Locate the Washing Machine or Dryer where you want.

RLM (Remote Laundry Monitor)

1.Unpack the Monitor parts.

2.(Wall mount) When installing the monitor attach the wall Hanger Holder with the supplied Screws (2EA) in the place you have chosen for the monitor. The Hanger Holder must be mounted securely (See Picture 1.)

3.Insert the monitor's hanger into the wall Hanger Holder (Picture 2) or the Monitor Stand (Picture 3).

4.Plug the monitor's power cord into an available outlet.

5.Turn on the Washing machine or Dryer with the assembled PLC modem.

6.Press the Monitor Button and hold it for 3 seconds.

(This is necessary the first time for setting the Home Code. For more information see Setting the Home Code on the next page.)

7.You can monitor the operating condition of the Washing Machine or Dryer.

NOTE: The RLM may take a minute or more to turn on after installation.

(Reference) Do not let the cord hang loosely or drape in the way where it can cause someone to trip or fall.
