Model: NX200t (AGZ10, AGZ15) & NX300h (AYZ10, AYZ15)
Subject: Pre Delivery Correction & Safety Recall
Campaign - Skid Control ECU Reprogram
Background
Investigations by Lexus have determined that a requirement exists for the initiation of a pre delivery correction and safety
recall campaign to be conducted in accordance with the FCAI Code of Practice for safety related recalls on a range of Lexus
NX200t (AGZ10, AGZ15) & NX300h (AYZ10, AYZ15) models affecting the skid control ECU.
Description of Problem
Lexus NX vehicles are equipped with a brake hold function which keeps the brake applied after the vehicle comes to a
complete stop. Under certain conditions (for example, unfastening the driver’s seat belt), the system is designed to deactivate
the brake hold function, warn the driver and automatically set the parking brake.
Due to improper programming, there is a possibility that the parking brake may not automatically apply when the system is
deactivated by certain conditions as described above. If this occurs, the vehicle could move forward, increasing the risk of a
collision.
Involved Vehicles
There are 6,856 Lexus NX vehicles involved in the Australian market.
Notes:
1/ Although the involved vehicles are within the above VIN ranges, not all vehicles in these ranges were sold in the Australian
market.
2/ # indicates additional check digit (alpha or numeric).
Timing / Owner Notification
Owners of the involved vehicles will be notified at their last known address requesting that they present their vehicle to any
Lexus Dealer for rectification, this will occur on or about 5th January, 2017.
A safety related Recall Campaign advertisement will be placed in all National, regional and Ethnic newspapers pending
completion rate review.
Date: January 17
Section: BE
No.: 01

Dealer Action
This campaign is divided into two parts:
Pre Delivery Correction (PDC) - involving vehicles in Dealer stock or in transit to Dealers.
(These vehicles have been placed on a retail delivery stop and must be rectified prior to delivery. Once complete, submit the
appropriate warranty claim which will remove retail delivery stop and enable RDR completion).
Safety Related Recall (SSC) involving vehicles already delivered.
On receiving contact from vehicle owner -
1. Confirm the vehicle is within the involved VIN range. If yes:
2. Confirm via warranty system that the vehicle is eligible and has not already had campaign performed. If not completed;
3. Confirm customer booking;
4. Carry out the required repair as per the Technical Instructions;
5. Apply a recall campaign label to the driver’s side “A” pillar post upon completion of the recall campaign;
6. Submit an SSC warranty claim.
Recall Campaign Identification Label
The Recall Campaign Identification Label is affixed to the right hand side ‘A’ pillar.
The diagram below shows the type of label and completion method.
PDC SSC
This label is designed so that the completion information can be impressed into the label rather than being marked with ink.
Customer Action
Customers are required to make an appointment to present their vehicle to an authorised Lexus Dealer for inspection and
rectification.
