Accessories, spare parts and
modification of your Lexus
A wide variety of non-genuine spare
parts and accessories for Lexus vehicles are currently available in the market. Using these spare parts and
accessories which are not genuine
Lexus products may adversely affect
the safety of your vehicle, even though
these parts may be approved by certain authorities in your country. Toyota
Motor Corporation therefore cannot
accept any liability or guarantee spare
parts and accessories which are not
genuine Lexus products, nor for
replacement or installation involving
such parts.

with non-genuine Lexus products.
Modification with non-genuine Lexus
products could affect its performance,
safety or durability, and may even violate governmental regulations. In addition, damage or performance
problems resulting from the modification may not be covered under warranty.
Also, remodeling like this will have an
effect on advanced safety equipment
such as Lexus Safety System + and
there is a danger that it will not work
properly or the danger that it may work
in situations where it should not be
working.
Cyber Attack Risk
Installing electronic devices and radios

and type of a crash.
The EDR in this vehicle is designed to
record such data as:
• How various systems in your vehicle
were operating;
• How far (if at all) the driver was
depressing the accelerator and/or
brake pedal; and,
• How fast the vehicle was traveling.
These data can help provide a better
understanding of the circumstances in
which crashes and injuries occur.
NOTE: EDR data are recorded by your
vehicle only if a non-trivial crash situation occurs; no data are recorded by
the EDR under normal driving conditions and no personal data (e.g., name,
gender, age, and crash location) are
recorded. However, other parties, such
as law enforcement, could combine the
EDR data with the type of personally
identifying data routinely acquired during a crash investigation.
Event data recorder
This vehicle is equipped with an event
data recorder (EDR). The main purpose of an EDR is to record, in certain
crash or near crash-like situations, such
as an airbag deployment or hitting a
road obstacle, data that will assist in
understanding how a vehicle’s systems
performed. The EDR is designed to
record data related to vehicle dynamics and safety systems for a short
period of time, typically 30 seconds or
less. However, data may not be
To read data recorded by an EDR, special equipment is required, and access

Scrapping of your Lexus
The SRS airbag and seat belt
pretensioner devices in your Lexus
contain explosive chemicals. If the
vehicle is scrapped with the airbags
and seat belt pretensioners left as they
are, this may cause an accident such as
fire. Be sure to have the systems of the
SRS airbag and seat belt pretensioner
removed and disposed of by a qualified
service shop or by your Lexus dealer
before you scrap your vehicle.
Driver distraction: Always give your full
attention to driving. Anything that distracts the driver, such as adjusting controls, talking on a cellular phone or
reading can result in a collision with
resulting death or serious injury to you,
your occupants or others.
■
General precaution regarding children’s safety
Never leave children unattended in the
vehicle, and never allow children to have
or use the key.
Children may be able to start the vehicle
or shift the vehicle into neutral. There is
also a danger that children may injure
themselves by playing with the windows,
the moon roof or panoramic moon roof,
or other features of the vehicle. In addition, heat build-up or extremely cold
temperatures inside the vehicle can be
fatal to children.
■
General precaution regarding a coin
battery and button battery
■
General precautions while driving
Driving under the influence: Never drive
your vehicle when under the influence of
alcohol or drugs that have impaired your
ability to operate your vehicle. Alcohol
and certain drugs delay reaction time,
impair judgment and reduce coordination, which could lead to an accident that
could result in death or serious injury.
Defensive driving: Always drive defensively. Anticipate mistakes that other
drivers or pedestrians might make and
be ready to avoid accidents.
This product contains a coin battery or
button battery. Observe the following
precautions. Failure to do so may result in
death or serious injury.
●
Keep away new and removed batteries
from children.
●
Do not swallow the battery. Doing so
may cause chemical burns.
●
If a battery is swallowed, it may cause
severe chemical burns in as little as 2
hours and may result in death or serious injury.
10
WARNING
●
If you accidentally swallow a battery or
put a battery into a part of your body,
get emergency medical attention
immediately.

Observe the following before starting off in the vehicle to ensure
safety of driving.
Installing floor mats
Use only floor mats designed specifically for vehicles of the same model
and model year as your vehicle. Fix
them securely in place onto the carpet.
1Insert the retaining hooks (clips)
into the floor mat eyelets.
2 Turn the upper knob of each retain-
ing hook (clip) to secure the floor
mats in place.
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause the driver’s
floor mat to slip, possibly interfering with
the pedals while driving. An unexpectedly high speed may result or it may
become difficult to stop the vehicle. This
could lead to an accident, resulting in
death or serious injury.
■
When installing the driver’s floor mat
●
Do not use floor mats designed for
other models or different model year
vehicles, even if they are Lexus Genuine floor mats.
●
Only use floor mats designed for the
driver’s seat.
●
Always install the floor mat securely
using the retaining hooks (clips) provided.
●
Do not use two or more floor mats on
top of each other.
●
Do not place the floor mat bottom-side up or upside-down.
■
Before driving
●
Check that the floor mat is securely
fixed in the correct place with all the
provided retaining hooks (clips). Be
especially careful to perform this
check after cleaning the floor.
Always align the marks .

●
Do not adjust the position of the
driver’s seat while driving.
Doing so could cause the driver to lose
control of the vehicle.
●
Do not place a cushion between the
driver or passenger and the seatback.
A cushion may prevent correct posture from being achieved, and reduce
the effectiveness of the seat belt and
head restraint.
●
Do not place anything under the front
seats.
Objects placed under the front seats
may become jammed in the seat
tracks and stop the seat from locking in
place. This may lead to an accident
and the adjustment mechanism may
also be damaged.
●
Always observe the legal speed limit
when driving on public roads.
●
When driving over long distances, take
regular breaks before you start to feel
tired.
Also, if you feel tired or sleepy while
driving, do not force yourself to continue driving and take a break immediately.
Correct use of the seat belts

Vehicles with Lexus Connected Services:
If any of the following situations occur, the
system is designed to send an emergency
call to the response center, notifying them
of the vehicle’s location (without needing
to push the “SOS” button) and an agent
will attempt to speak with the occupants
to ascertain the level of emergency and
assistance required. If the occupants are
unable to communicate, the agent automatically treats the call as an emergency
and helps to dispatch the necessary
emergency services. (P.52)

side airbag or SRS front center airbag is
scratched, cracked, or otherwise damaged.
●
When the part of a front pillar, rear pillar
or roof side rail garnish (padding) which
covers a SRS curtain shield airbag is
scratched, cracked, or otherwise damaged.
■
SRS airbag precautions
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or
serious injury.
●
The driver and all passengers must
wear their seat belts correctly.
The SRS airbags are supplemental
devices to be used with the seat belts.
1-1. For safe use
●
The SRS driver airbag deploys with
considerable force, and can cause
death or serious injury, especially if the
driver is very close to the airbag.
Since the risk zone for the driver’s airbag
is the first 50-75 mm (2-3 in.) of inflation,
placing yourself 250 mm (10 in.) from
your driver airbag provides you with a
clear margin of safety. This distance is
measured from the center of the steering
wheel to your breastbone. If your current
driving position places you less than 250
mm (10 in.) away from the driver airbag,,
you can change your driving position in
several ways:
• Move your seat to the rear as far as
possible while still being able to reach
the pedals comfortably.
• Slightly recline the seatback. Although
vehicle designs vary, many drivers can
achieve the 250 mm (11 in.) distance,
even with the driver seat all the way
forward, simply by reclining the
seatback somewhat. If reclining the
seatback makes it hard to see the road,
raise yourself by using a firm, non-slippery cushion, or raise the seat if your
vehicle has that feature.
•If your steering wheel is adjustable, tilt
it downward. This points the airbag
toward your chest instead of your head
and neck. The seat should be adjusted
as recommended above, while still
being able to control the vehicle with
the pedals and steering wheel, and
maintaining your view of the instrument panel controls.
●
The SRS front passenger airbag
deploys with considerable force, and
can cause death or serious injury,
especially if the front passenger is very
close to the airbag. The front passenger seat should be positioned as far
possible from the airbag with the
seatback adjusted so that the passenger is sat upright.

WARNING
1-1. For safe use
●
Improperly seated and/or restrained
infants and children can be killed or
seriously injured by a deploying airbag.
An infant or child who is too small to
use a seat belt should be properly
secured using a child restraint system.
Lexus strongly recommends that all
infants and children be placed in the
rear seats of the vehicle and properly
restrained. The rear seats are safer for
infants and children than the front passenger seat. (
●
Do not sit on the edge of the seat or
lean against the dashboard.
●
Do not allow a child to stand in front of
the SRS front passenger airbag or sit
on the lap of a front passenger.
P.38)
●
Do not lean against the door, roof side
rail, or front, side, or rear pillar.
●
Do not allow anyone to kneel on a seat
toward the door or put their head or
hands outside the vehicle.
●
Do not attach anything to or lean anything against areas such as the dashboard, steering wheel pad and lower
portion of the instrument panel.
●
Front seat occupants should never
hold items on their lap.
●
Do not attach anything to areas such
as the doors, windshield, side windows,
front or rear pillars, roof side rails and
assist grips.
WARNING
●
Do not hang coat hangers or other
hard objects on the coat hooks. These
items could become projectiles if the
SRS curtain shield airbags deploy, possibly leading to death or serious injury.
●
If a vinyl cover is attached to the area
where the SRS knee airbag deploys,
be sure to remove it.
●
Do not use seat accessories which
cover the parts from which the SRS
airbags deploy, as they may interfere
with inflation of the SRS airbags. Such
accessories may prevent the SRS
airbags from deploying correctly, may
disable the system or cause the SRS
airbags to inflate unintentionally, possibly resulting in death or serious injury.
●
Do not strike or apply significant force
to the SRS airbag system components,
front doors or their surrounding area.
Doing so may cause the SRS airbags
to malfunction.
●
Do not touch any components of the
SRS airbags immediately after the SRS
airbags have deployed (inflated) as
they may be hot.
●
If breathing becomes difficult after the
SRS airbags have deployed, open a
door or window to allow fresh air in, or
leave the vehicle if it is safe to do so.
Wash off any residue as soon as possible to prevent skin irritation.

Exhaust gas precautions
Harmful substance to the human
body is included in exhaust gases if
inhaled.
Exhaust gases include harmful carbon
monoxide (CO), which is colorless and
odorless. Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause exhaust gases
enter the vehicle and may lead to an
accident caused by light-headedness, or
may lead to death or a serious health
hazard.
■
Important points while driving
●
Keep the back door closed.
●
If you smell exhaust gases in the vehicle even when the back door is closed,
open the windows and have the vehicle inspected at your Lexus dealer as
soon as possible.
■
When parking
●
If the vehicle is in a poorly ventilated
area or a closed area, such as a
garage, stop the hybrid system.
●
Do not leave the vehicle with the
hybrid system on for a long time.
If such a situation cannot be avoided,
park the vehicle in an open space and
ensure that exhaust fumes do not enter
the vehicle interior.
●
Do not leave the hybrid system operating in an area with snow build-up, or
where it is snowing. If snowbanks build
up around the vehicle while the hybrid
system is operating, exhaust gases
may collect and enter the vehicle.
WARNING
■
Exhaust pipe
The exhaust system needs to be checked
periodically. If there is a hole or crack
caused by corrosion, damage to a joint
or abnormal exhaust noise, be sure to
have the vehicle inspected and repaired
by your Lexus dealer.

Riding with children
Child restraint systems
Observe the following precautions
when children are in the vehicle.
Use a child restraint system appropriate for the child, until the child
becomes large enough to properly
wear the vehicle’s seat belt.
It is recommended that children
sit in the rear seats to avoid accidental contact with the shift lever,
wiper switch, etc.
Use the rear door child-protector
lock or the window lock switch to
avoid children opening the door
while driving or operating the
power window accidentally.
(P.106, 155)
Do not let small children operate
equipment which may catch or
pinch body parts, such as the
power window, hood, back door,
seats etc.
■
When children are in the vehicle
Never leave children unattended in the
vehicle, and never allow children to have
or use the key.
Children may be able to start the vehicle
or shift the vehicle into neutral. There is
also a danger that children may injure
themselves by playing with the windows,
the moon roof or panoramic moon roof,
or other features of the vehicle. In addition, heat build-up or extremely cold
temperatures inside the vehicle can be
fatal to children.
Before installing a child restraint
system in the vehicle, there are precautions that need to be observed,
different types of child restraint systems, as well as installation methods, etc., written in this manual.
Use a child restraint system when
riding with a small child that cannot
properly use a seat belt. For the
child’s safety, install the child
restraint system to a rear seat. Be
sure to follow the installation
method that is in the operation
manual enclosed with the restraint
system.

tions for child restraint systems.
Use a child restraint system until the
child becomes large enough to
properly wear the vehicle’s seat belt.
Choose a child restraint system
appropriate to the age and size of
the child.
Note that not all child restraint sys-
tems can fit in all vehicles.
Before using or purchasing a child
restraint system, check the compatibility of the child restraint system
with seat positions. (P.42)
■
When a child is riding
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or
serious injury.
●
For effective protection in automobile
accidents and sudden stops, a child
must be properly restrained, using a
seat belt or child restraint system
which is correctly installed. For installation details, refer to the operation manual enclosed with the child restraint
system. General installation instruction
is provided in this manual.
●
Lexus strongly urges the use of a
proper child restraint system that conforms to the weight and size of the
child, installed on the rear seat.
According to accident statistics, the
child is safer when properly restrained
in the rear seat than in the front seat.
●
Holding a child in your or someone
else’s arms is not a substitute for a child
restraint system. In an accident, the
child can be crushed against the windshield or between the holder and the
interior of the vehicle.
■
Handling the child restraint system
If the child restraint system is not properly fixed in place, the child or other passengers may be seriously injured or even
killed in the event of sudden braking, sudden swerving, or an accident.
●
If the vehicle were to receive a strong
impact from an accident, etc., it is possible that the child restraint system has
damage that is not readily visible. In
such cases, do not reuse the restraint
system.
●
Depending on the child restraint system, installation may be difficult or
impossible. In those cases, check
whether the child restraint system is
suitable for installment in the vehicle.
(P.42) Be sure to install and observe
the usage rules after carefully reading
the child restraint system fixing
method in this manual, as well as the
operation manual enclosed with the
child restraint system.
●
Keep the child restraint system properly secured on the seat even if it is not
in use. Do not store the child restraint
system unsecured in the passenger
compartment.
●
If it is necessary to detach the child
restraint system, remove it from the
vehicle or store it securely in the luggage compartment.

Adjust the seatback angle to the
most upright position.
If there is a gap between the child seat and
the seatback, adjust the seatback angle
until good contact is achieved.
If the head restraint interferes with
your child restraint system, and the
head restraint can be removed,
remove the head restraint.
Otherwise, put the head restraint in the
upper most position.
●
Extreme Hazard! Do not use a rearward facing child restraint on a seat
protected by an airbag in front of it!
This is because the force of the rapid
inflation of the front passenger airbag
can cause death or serious injury to
the child.
There is a label(s) on the passenger
side sun visor, indicating it is forbidden
to attach a rear-facing child restraint
system to the front passenger seat.
Details of the label(s) are shown in the
illustration below.

Failure to do so may result in death or
serious injury.
WARNING
WARNING
●
Only put a forward-facing child
restraint system on the front seat when
unavoidable. When installing a forward-facing child restraint on the front
passenger seat, move the seat as far
back as possible. Failing to do so may
result in death or serious injury if the
airbags deploy (inflate).
1-2. Child safety
●
Do not allow the child to lean his/her
head or any part of his/her body
against the door or the area of the seat,
front or rear pillars, or roof side rails
from which the SRS side airbags or
SRS curtain shield airbags deploy even
if the child is seated in the child
restraint system. It is dangerous if the
SRS side airbags and curtain shield
airbags inflate, and the impact could
cause death or serious injury to the
child.

For safety and security
●
When a junior seat (booster seat) is
installed, always ensure that the shoulder belt is positioned across the center
of the child’s shoulder. The belt should

When installing a child restraint system
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or
serious injury.
●
Do not allow children to play with the
seat belt. If the seat belt becomes
twisted around a child’s neck, it may
lead to choking or other serious injuries that could result in death. If this
occurs and the buckle cannot be
unfastened, scissors should be used to
cut the belt.
●
Ensure that the belt and plate are
securely locked and the seat belt is not
twisted.

Hybrid system features
Your vehicle is a hybrid electric vehicle. It has characteristics different from
conventional vehicles. Be sure you are closely familiar with the characteristics
of your vehicle, and operate it with care.
55
The hybrid system combines the use of a gasoline engine and an electric motor
(traction motor) according to driving conditions, improving fuel efficiency and
reducing exhaust emissions.

The gasoline engine stops
when the
vehicle is stopped. During start off, the
electric motor (traction motor) drives
the vehicle. At slow speeds or when
traveling down a gentle slope, the
engine is stopped
*
and the electric
motor (traction motor) is used.
RX350h: When the shift position is in
N, the hybrid battery (traction battery)
is not being charged.
*
: When the hybrid battery (traction bat-
tery) requires charging or the engine is
warming up, etc., the gasoline engine will
not automatically stop. (P.57)
■
During normal driving
The gasoline engine is predominantly
used. The electric motor (traction
motor) charges the hybrid battery
(traction battery) as necessary.
AWD models: Depending on the driving conditions, the rear electric motor
(traction motor) is powered by the
front electric motor (traction motor) to
drive the rear wheels.
■
When accelerating sharply
When the accelerator pedal is
depressed heavily, the power of the
hybrid battery (traction battery) is
added to that of the gasoline engine via
the electric motor (traction motor).
■
When braking (regenerative braking)
The wheels operate the electric motor
(traction motor) as a power generator,
and the hybrid battery (traction bat-

tery) is charged.
■
Regenerative braking
In the following situations, kinetic energy is
converted to electric energy and deceleration force can be obtained in conjunction
with the recharging of the hybrid battery
(traction battery).
●
RX350h: The accelerator pedal is
released while driving with the shift position in D or S.

■
EV indicator
The EV indicator comes on when the vehicle is driven using only the electric motor
(traction motor) or the gasoline engine is
stopped.
■
Conditions in which the gasoline engine
may not stop
The gasoline engine starts and stops automatically. However, it may not stop automatically in the following conditions:
●
During gasoline engine warm-up
●
During hybrid battery (traction battery)
charging
●
When the temperature of the hybrid battery (traction battery) is high or low
●
When the heater is switched on
●
When the hood is opened during
“READY” indicator is illuminated
Depending on the circumstances, the gasoline engine may also not stop automatically
in other situations.
■
Charging the hybrid battery (traction
battery)
As the gasoline engine charges the hybrid
battery (traction battery), the battery does
not need to be charged from an outside
source. However, if the vehicle is left parked
for a long time the hybrid battery (traction
battery) will slowly discharge. For this reason, be sure to drive the vehicle at least
once every few months for at least 30 minutes or 16 km (10 miles). If the hybrid battery (traction battery) becomes fully
discharged and you are unable to start the
hybrid system, contact your Lexus dealer.
■
Charging the 12-volt battery
P.495
■
After the 12-volt battery has discharged
or when the terminal has been removed
and installed during exchange, etc.
The gasoline engine may not stop even if
the vehicle is being driven by the hybrid battery (traction battery). If this continues for a
few days, contact your Lexus dealer.
■
Sounds and vibrations specific to a
hybrid electric vehicle
Because there is no engine sound or vibration, it is easy to mistake the hybrid electric
vehicle for being off when it is actually still
running, as indicated by the “READY” indicator being illuminated. For safety, make
sure to always shift the shift position to P
and apply the parking brake when parked.
The following sounds or vibrations may
occur when the hybrid system is operating
and are not a malfunction:
●
Motor sounds may be heard from the
engine compartment.
●
Sounds may be heard from the hybrid
battery (traction battery) behind the rear
seats when the hybrid system starts or
stops.
●
Relay operating sounds such as a snap or
soft clank will be emitted from the hybrid

battery (traction battery), under the rear
seats, when the hybrid system is started
or stopped.
●
Sounds from the hybrid system may be
heard when the back door is open.
●
Sounds may be heard from the transmission when the gasoline engine starts or
stops, when driving at low speeds, or during idling.
●
Engine sounds may be heard when
accelerating sharply.
●
Sounds may be heard due to regenerative braking when the brake pedal is
depressed or as the accelerator pedal is
released.
●
Vibration may be felt when the gasoline
engine starts or stops.
●
Cooling fan sounds may be heard from
the air intake vents under the rear seats.

Running out of fuel
When the vehicle has run out of fuel and the
hybrid system cannot be started, refuel the
vehicle with at least enough gasoline to
make the low fuel level warning light
(P.458) go off. If there is only a small
amount of fuel, the hybrid system may not
be able to start. (The standard amount of
fuel is about 9.8 L [2.6 gal., 2.2 Imp. gal.],
when the vehicle is on a level surface. This
value may vary when the vehicle is on a
slope. Add extra fuel when the vehicle is
inclined.)
Electromagnetic waves
●
High voltage parts and cables on hybrid
electric vehicles incorporate electromagnetic shielding, and therefore emit
approximately the same amount of electromagnetic waves as conventional gasoline powered vehicles or home electronic
appliances.
●
Your vehicle may cause sound interference in some third party-produced radio
parts.
■

change in accordance with driving style and
driving conditions.
■
High voltage precautions
This vehicle has high voltage DC and AC
systems as well as a 12-volt system. DC
and AC high voltage is very dangerous
and can cause severe burns and electric
shock that may result in death or serious
injury.
●
Never touch, disassemble, remove or
replace the high voltage parts, cables
or their connectors.
●
The hybrid system will become hot
after starting as the system uses high
voltage. Be careful of both the high
voltage and the high temperature, and
always obey the warning labels
attached to the vehicle.
●
Never try to open the service plug
access hole located under the rear
seat. The service plug is used only
when the vehicle is serviced and is
subject to high voltage.
●
Do not touch the high voltage parts,
cables and connectors.
●
If electric wires are exposed inside or
outside your vehicle, an electric shock
may occur. Never touch exposed electric wires.
●
If a fluid leak occurs, do not touch the
fluid as it may be strong alkaline electrolyte from the hybrid battery (traction battery). If it comes into contact
with your skin or eyes, wash it off
immediately with a large amount of
water or, if possible, boric acid solution. Seek immediate medical attention.
●
If a fire occurs in the hybrid electric
vehicle, leave the vehicle as soon as
possible. Never use a fire extinguisher
that is not meant for electric fires.
Using even a small amount of water
may be dangerous.
●
If your vehicle needs to be towed, do
so with front wheels (2WD models) or
four wheels (AWD models) raised. If
the wheels connected to the electric
motor (traction motor) are on the
ground when towing, the motor may
continue to generate electricity.This
may cause a fire. (

Hybrid battery (traction battery)
●
Never resell, hand over or modify the
hybrid battery. To prevent accidents,
hybrid batteries that have been
removed from a disposed vehicle are
collected through your Lexus dealer.
Do not dispose of the battery yourself.
Unless the battery is properly collected, the following may occur, resulting in death or serious injury:
• The hybrid battery may be illegally disposed of or dumped, and it is hazardous to the environment or someone
may touch a high voltage part, resulting in an electric shock.
• The hybrid battery is intended to be
used exclusively with your hybrid vehicle. If the hybrid battery is used outside
of your vehicle or modified in any way,
accidents such as electric shock, heat
generation, smoke generation, an
explosion and electrolyte leakage may
occur.
When reselling or handing over your
vehicle, the possibility of an accident is
extremely high because the person
receiving the vehicle may not be aware
of these dangers.
■
Hybrid battery (traction battery) air
intake vents
Do not carry large amounts of water
such as water cooler bottles in the vehicle. If water spills onto the hybrid battery
(traction battery), the battery may be
damaged. Have the vehicle inspected by
your Lexus dealer.
Hybrid battery (traction battery) air intake
The air intake vents for the hybrid battery (traction battery) are located
under the rear seats.
If the air intake vents are blocked, it
could lead to a reduction in hybrid battery (traction battery) output.
If input/output of the hybrid battery (traction battery) becomes limited and the distance that the vehicle can be driven using
the electric motor (traction motor) is
reduced, the fuel economy may bereduced.
●
If your vehicle is disposed of without
the hybrid battery having been
removed, there is a danger of serious
electric shock if high voltage parts,
cables and their connectors are
touched. In the event that your vehicle
must be disposed of, the hybrid battery
must be disposed of by your Lexus
dealer or a qualified service shop. If
the hybrid battery is not disposed of
properly, it may cause electric shock
that can result in death or serious
injury.
NOTICE
■
Hybrid battery (traction battery) air
intake vents
●
Make sure not to block the air intake
vent with anything, such as a seat
cover, plastic cover, or luggage.The
input/output of the hybrid battery
(traction battery) may be restricted,
leading to a reduction in hybrid battery
(traction battery) output and a malfunction.
●
Periodically clean the air intake vents
to prevent them from clogging.
(P.434)
●
Do not get water or foreign materials
in either the air intake vents as this may
cause a short circuit and damage the
hybrid battery (traction battery).
Emergency shut off system
When a certain level of impact is
detected by the impact sensor, the
emergency shut off system blocks the
high voltage current and stops the fuel
pump to minimize the risk of electrocution and fuel leakage. If the emergency
shut off system activates, your vehicle
will not restart. To restart the hybrid
system, contact your Lexus dealer.
