To fill the kettle, open the lid by pulling up on the handle on the lid.

Fig 1

Do not fill above the max water level line or below the minimum water level line marked on the water window.

Do not overfill the kettle as this may result in boiling water being splashed out and too little water will result in the kettle switching off before the water has boiled.

Place the kettle (or cordless base and kettle) on a level, flat surface. Ensure that the lid is locked firmly in place and then place the kettle securely onto the power base (KAK36 only).

Connect power cable supplied to appliance (KAK35 only).

Important: Make sure this plug is firmly inserted into socket.

Connect 3 pin 230/240V plug to power supply. Turn power on.

Push the On/Off switch up, located at the base of the handle. The 'on' light will illuminate indicating that the kettle is boiling water. Once the water is boiled the kettle will automatically switch off.

For KAK35 corded kettle, switch power off at the power outlet and remove plug from power point and then from kettle before pouring water as required.

For KAK36 cordless kettle switch off at the power outlet and then lift the kettle from the power base and pour as required using the handle.

Take care to hold the kettle level especially when filled to the maximum level.

Kettle can be returned to cordless base when not in use.

Ensure that the power is switched of at the power outlet when the kettle is not in use.

NOTE: Use caution when pouring water from your kettle, as boiling water will scald. Do not pour the water too quickly.

Mineral deposits in the water may cause the kettle interior to discolour.

This may be removed using a Kettle De-Scaleravailable form most supermarkets and hardware stores. Alternatively you can make your own solution. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and the remainder with water and allow to stand overnight.
