BASIC OPERATIONS
Turn headset on/off – Press the multi-function button for 3 to 5 seconds until you see a burst of flashes on the blue indicator light, then release. The indicator lights on the headset and multi-adapter will flash every 3 seconds while the power is on and in “Standby” mode.
If you are already wearing the headset, you’ll hear a quick series of FOUR tones when turning the headset on or off. When turning on, their pitch will be low to high, and when turning off, their pitch will be high to low.
Important: Do not hold the button down too long (more than 3 to 5 seconds) when
turning on headset or else the headset may go into pairing mode, and the blue indicator light will turn solid. If that happens, the section below titled “If you press and release and the headset stays in Standby mode” may be applicable to you.
Choose wearing preference – FreeSpeak is ready to wear on the right ear. If you prefer the left, gently rotate the MiniGel 180°.
Make, answer, and end calls (details on p.12-15 of User Guide)
1. To make or answer calls, press and release ONCE to move the headset
from “Standby” to “Active” mode, turning on the audio link between the headset and the multi-adapter. (It may take a few seconds for the audio link to start, so don’t press the again.) In
Active mode, the indicator lights flash every second.
2. You will then need to dial or answer the call using the phone’s keypad.
3. When you’re done with the call, use the phone’s keypad to end the call.
4. Then press and release again to return to Standby, turning off the audio link.
Calls can be made by using voice-activated dialing (available in certain Nextel phone models).
Important: Do not hold the button down too long when switching modes; this should
only be a quick tap.

To answer and end calls with only the headset:
Some phones enable you to answer or end a call by pressing and releasing without having to touch the phone. For all Nextel phone models (except the i1000), the phone’s Automatic Answer feature needs to be activated for this headset feature to work.
For the BlackBerry 6510, FreeSpeak's Anwer/End feature has to be turned on.
To turn on FreeSpeak's Answer/End feature:
1) Ensure that the AC power adapter is not connected.
2) Put the headset in the multi-adapter.
3) Use the stylus to press the stylus switch for about 12 seconds.
4) You will then see a number of blinks (long flashes) on the multi-adapter indicator light which tell you whether this feature is enabled or disabled according to the following table:
5) Repeat steps 1-4 to switch between enabled and disabled settings.
If you are enabling Answer/End feature for the first time, you should test answering and ending calls to ensure that your phone supports this feature.
For more information, see “Enhanced Features” at www.jabra.com/fscs.
Calls can be ended by the headset only by waiting for the line to disconnect.

TIPS & SOLUTIONS
To prolong battery life:
• After you’ve ended a call using your phone’s keypad, always remember to place the headset in Standby mode by pressing and releasing when not in use.
• Dock the headset firmly in its multi-adapter when not in use.
If you press and release and the headset stays in Standby mode:
If FreeSpeak becomes unpaired, it will not respond to the button. In rare cases, this may occur when you first receive the product or when you hold the button too long while using the product.
To “pair” the headset with the multi-adapter:
1. Ensure headset is off.
2. Press until you see a solid blue light on the headset, then release.
3. Use the stylus to press down on the stylus switch until you see a solid blue light on the multi-adapter, then
release.
Important: Once pairing is complete,
lights on both the headset and multiadapter will begin flashing (Standby
mode).

To improve audio clarity:
Stay within 30 feet (10 meters) of your multi-adapter. In general, you will get the best performance when there are no obstructions (including parts of the body) between your headset and the multi-adapter.
If the headset is not responding or the light will not turn off after pairing - You may need to reset your headset.
1. Plug one end of the AC power adapter into the multi-adapter and the other end into an electrical wall outlet.
2. Insert the headset into the multi-adapter for about 3 seconds, then remove.
