The Rea® Azalea Base is a part of the
Azalea family as a wheelchair base for
different seating systems such as individually adapted anatomic seats manufactured by different companies.
The Azalea range is CE-marked, but
since the Rea® Azalea Base is not to be
considered as a complete product and
it is only when the base and the seating system have been combined that
an evaluation of the safety can be done,
it rests upon the company that mounts
the seating system to perform a final
risk assesment.
However, if there is an agreement between Invacare and the manufacturer
of the seating system that regulates
the responsibility between the companies, the product can maintain its
CE-marking. In other cases, the company mounting the seating system will
be responsible for the CE-marking or
that the chair will follow the rules for
“Custom-made devices” according to
the European Directive 93/42/EEC concerning medical devices.
The Rea® Azalea Base has been crash
tested together with the Invacare ”Flex
2” standard backrest, ”Flo-shape” seat
cushion and ”MatrX Personal Back”. All
together with REA neckrests. Invacare
can in no way predict the effect of an
accident with other configurations.
If the above demands are fulfilled and
the judgement is that the product is
considered to be crash safe and are
abled to be transported in a vehicle,
the received labels can be attached
on the product, as seen on the figures
1-4 on the front side. The labels show
where/how the attachment straps
should be placed on the chair when it
is transported in a vehicle.

If the user manual is not available, it
can be obtained from your Invacare
representative or be downloaded from
an Invacare website.
La base de fauteuil Rea® Azalea fait
partie de la gamme Azalea et est
utilisée comme base de fauteuil roulant
pour différents systèmes d’assise tels
que des sièges anatomiques à réglage
personnalisé fabriqués par diverses
entreprises.
La gamme Azalea porte la marque CE,
mais étant donné que la base Rea®
Azalea n’est pas considérée comme un
produit complet et qu’il n’est possible
d’évaluer la sécurité qu’une fois la
base et le système d’assise combinés,
il appartient à la société effectuant le
montage du système d’assise de procéder à une évaluation finale des risques.
Cependant, si un accord réglementant
la responsabilité entre les sociétés
existe entre Invacare et le fabricant du
système d’assise, le produit peut conserver son marquage CE. Dans les autres cas, la société effectuant le montage
du système d’assise est responsable du
marquage CE ou du fait que le fauteuil
respecte les règles concernant les «
dispositifs sur mesure » conformément
à la directive européenne 93/42/CEE
relative aux dispositifs médicaux.
La base de fauteuil Rea® Azalea a subi
des essais de choc en combinaison avec
le dossier standard « Flex 2 », le coussin d’assise « Flo-shape » et le « MatrX
Personal Back » d’Invacare, le tout
avec des appui-nuques REA. Invacare
ne peut en aucun cas prévoir les effets
d’un accident avec d’autres configurations.
Si les exigences susmentionnées sont
satisfaites et que le jugement établit
que le produit est considéré conforme
aux normes de sécurité et qu’il peut
être transporté dans un véhicule, les
étiquettes fournies peuvent être apposées sur le produit, comme indiqué
sur les figures 1-4. Ces étiquettes
montrent où et comment placer les
sangles de fixation sur le fauteuil en cas
de transport dans un véhicule.

Azalea. Si celui-ci n’est pas disponible,
il est possible de l’obtenir auprès de
votre représentant Invacare ou de

Rea® Azalea Base aus der AzaleaProduktfamilie ist eine Rollstuhlbasis
für verschiedene Sitzsysteme, wie
beispielsweise individuell angepasste,
anatomisch geformte Sitze verschiedener Hersteller.
Die Azalea-Produktpalette ist mit dem
CE-Zeichen versehen. Da Rea® Azalea
Base jedoch nicht als vollständiges Produkt gilt und eine Beurteilung der Produktsicherheit erst erfolgen kann, wenn
die Basis und das Sitzsystem kombiniert
wurden, liegt es in der Verantwortung
des Unternehmens, das das Sitzsystem
montiert, eine endgültige Risikoeinschätzung vorzunehmen.
Besteht jedoch zwischen Invacare und
dem Hersteller des Sitzsystems eine
Vereinbarung, in der die jeweiligen Verantwortlichkeiten der Unternehmen
geregelt sind, kann das CE-Zeichen für
das Produkt beibehalten werden. In
anderen Fällen ist das Unternehmen,
das das Sitzsystem montiert, für die
CE-Kennzeichnung verantwortlich bzw.
dafür, dass der Rollstuhl den Bestimmungen zu maßgefertigten Geräten
gemäß EU-Richtlinie 93/42/EWG über
Medizinprodukte entspricht.
Die Rea® Azalea Base wurde in Verbindung mit der Standardrückenlehne
„Flex 2“ von Invacare, dem Sitzkissen
„Flo-shape“und der „MatrX Personal
Back“ einem Crashtest unterzogen.
Dabei kamen immer REA-Nackenstützen zum Einsatz. Zu den Auswirkungen
eines Unfalls in anderen Konstellationen kann Invacare unter keinen
Umständen Aussagen treffen.
Sofern die oben aufgeführten Anforderungen erfüllt sind und das Produkt
als unfallsicher und für den Transport
in einem Fahrzeug geeignet eingestuft
wird, dürfen die Schilder entsprechend
den Bildern 1-4 am Produkt befestigt
werden. Auf den Schildern ist dargestellt, wo und wie die Befestigungsgurte
am Rollstuhl beim Transport in einem
Fahrzeug platziert werden sollten.

in der Gebrauchsanweisung für Azalea.
Falls die Gebrauchsanweisung nicht zur
