–DONOTattempttomoveanoccupiedpersonal
transporterbetweenfloorsusingastairway.Usean elevatortomoveanoccupiedpersonaltransporter betweenfloors.
–Theweightofthepersonaltransporterwithoutthe
userisapproximately155lbs.Useproperlifting techniques(liftwithyourlegs)toavoidinjury.
–Ifmovingthepersonaltransporterbetweenfloorsby
meansofastairway,theoccupantMUSTberemoved andtransportedindependentlyofthepersonal transportercomponents.
–TheseatMUSTberemovedfromthepersonal
transporterbasebeforemovingitupordownthe stairs.Noupwardforceshouldbeappliedtotheseat tomovethechair.
–Thepersonaltransporterbaseweighs100lbswiththe
batteryboxinstalled.Invacarerecommendsremoving thebatteryboxandtransportingitindependently fromthebase.

PLEASENOTE:THEWARRANTYBELOWHAS BEENDRAFTEDTOCOMPLYWITHFEDERALLAW APPLICABLETOPRODUCTSMANUFACTUREDAFTER JULY4,1975.
Thiswarrantyisextendedonlytotheoriginalpurchaserwho purchasesthisproductwithinanycountryexcludingCANADA whennewandunusedfromInvacareoradealer.Thiswarrantyis notextendedtoanyotherpersonorentityandisnottransferable orassignabletoanysubsequentpurchaserorowner.Coverage underthiswarrantywillenduponanysuchsubsequentsaleorother transferoftitletoanyotherperson.Forproductpurchasedin Canada,pleaserefertotheCanadaLimitedWarranty.

Thiswarrantygivesyouspecificlegalrightsandyoumayalsohave otherlegalrightswhichvaryfromstatetostate.

“SafetyandHandling”ofthepersonaltransporterrequiresthe closeattentionofthepersonaltransporteruseraswellasthe assistant.Thismanualpointsoutthemostcommonproceduresand techniquesinvolvedinthesafeoperationandmaintenanceofthe personaltransporter.Itisimportanttopracticeandmasterthese safetechniquesuntilyouarecomfortableinmaneuveringaroundthe frequentlyencounteredarchitecturalbarriers.
Usethisinformationonlyasa“basic”guide.Thetechniquesthatare discussedonthefollowingpageshavebeenusedsuccessfullybymany.
UsersandassistantsMUSTbeawarethatthehandlingand maneuverabilitycharacteristicsofrearwheeldrivepersonal transportersareinherentlydifferentfromcenterandfrontwheel drivewheelchairs.Handlingandmaneuverabilitydifferenceswillbe mostnoticeablewhentravelingupordownrampsandslopesorover obstaclesandroughterrainasthismayshifttheuserscenterofmass resultingindecreasedstability.ALWAYSreducespeedandwearthe seatpositioningstrapwhendrivingundertheseconditions.

Whilethepersonaltransporterisdesignedforuseprimarilyin andaroundthehome,theprovidershoulddeterminewhetherthis personaltransporterissuitablefortheactualenvironmentinwhich thepersonaltransporterwillbeused.
