–Afteranyadjustments,repairorserviceandbeforeuse,
makesureallattachinghardwareistightenedsecurely.

Toavoidentrapment,productdamage,and/orpersonal
injury:
–Whenusedwithamanual/electricbed,thebedrails
DONOTfallunderanyweightlimitations.Bedrails
canbedeformedorbrokenifexcessivesidepressure
isexertedonthebedrails.Thesebedrailsareused
forthepurposeofpreventinganindividualfrom
inadvertentlyrollingoutofbed.Thebedrailsare
notintendednormaybeusedforrestraintpurposes.
Ifanindividualiscapableofinjuringhimself/herself,
aphysicianorahealthcareprofessionalshouldbe
consultedforalternativemeansofsaferestraint.
–Afterraising/loweringthehead/footendoftheelectric
bed,checkthedistancebetweenthebottomofthe
bedrailandthemattress.Ifthereisexcessivedistance
betweenthebottomofthebedrailandthemattress
inwhichindividualsmaybecomeentangled,adjust
theheightofthebedrail(ifapplicable),orprovide
alternativemeansofpatientprotection.
–DONOTusethesiderailsaspushhandlesformoving
theelectricbed.
–Replacementmattressesandbedsiderailswith
dimensionsdifferentfromtheoriginalequipment
suppliedorspecifiedbythebedframemanufacturer
arenotinterchangeable.Variationsinbedsiderail
design,widthandthicknessorfirmnessofthemattress
couldcause/contributetoentrapment.

Conditionssuchasrestlessness,mentaldeterioration
anddementiaorseizuredisorders(uncontrolledbody
movement),sleepingproblems,andincontinencecan
significantlyimpactapatient'sriskofentrapment.
Pediatricpatientsorpatientswithsmallbodysizemay
alsohaveanincreasedriskofentrapment.
–Monitorpatientswiththeseconditionsfrequently.
–Placemattressdeckintheflatpositionwhenleft
unattended.

maintenanceorinspection.Alwaysmaintainandinspect
equipmentpertheinstructionsinthismanual.Contact

–Looseormissingpartssuchasendcaps,knobs,bolts,
screwsetc.,shouldbesecuredorreplaced.
–Sharpedgesorsurfacesshouldbecorrectedor
replaced.
–Partsshowingexcessivewearshouldbereplaced.
–Warpedorotherwisedamagedpartsshouldbe
replacedimmediately.

deckcontactwithobjectsunderthebed:

Toavoidchokingfromsmalldetachablepartscontained
underneaththebed:
–Closelysupervisechildren,pets,orpeoplewith
physical/mentaldisabilities.
