IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, read the following important precautions and information before operating the treadmill.
1.It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
2.Use the treadmill only as described.
3.Place the treadmill on a level surface, with at least eight feet of clearance behind it and two feet on each side. Do not place the treadmill on any surface that blocks air openings. To protect the floor or carpet from damage, place a mat under the treadmill.
4.Keep the treadmill indoors, away from moisture and dust. Do not put the treadmill in a garage or covered patio, or near water.
5.Do not operate the treadmill where aerosol products are used or where oxygen is being administered.
6.Keep children under the age of 12 and pets away from the treadmill at all times.
7.The treadmill should be used only by persons weighing 275 pounds or less.
8.Never allow more than one person on the treadmill at a time.
9.Wear appropriate exercise clothes while using the treadmill. Do not wear loose clothes that could become caught in the treadmill. Athletic support clothes are recommended for both men and women. Always wear athletic shoes; never use the treadmill with bare feet, wearing only stockings, or in sandals.
10.When connecting the power cord (see page 11), plug the power cord into a surge suppressor (not included) and plug the surge suppressor into a grounded circuit capable of carrying 15 or more amps. No other appliance should be on the same circuit. Do not use an extension cord.
11.Use only a single-outlet surge suppressor that meets all of the specifications described on page 11. To purchase a surge suppressor, see your local IMAGE dealer or call the toll-free telephone number on the front cover of this manual and order part number 146148, or see your local electronics store.
12.Failure to use a properly functioning surge suppressor could result in damage to the control system of the treadmill. If the control system is damaged, the walking belt may change speed, accelerate, or stop unexpectedly, which may result in a fall and serious injury.
13.Keep the power cord and the surge suppressor away from heated surfaces.
14.Never move the walking belt while the power is turned off. Do not operate the treadmill if the power cord or plug is damaged, or if the treadmill is not working properly. (See TROUBLESHOOTING on page 19 if the treadmill is not working properly.)
15.Read, understand, and test the emergency stop procedure before using the treadmill (see HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 12).
16.Never start the treadmill while you are standing on the walking belt. Always hold the handrails while using the treadmill.
17.The treadmill is capable of high speeds. Adjust the speed in small increments to avoid sudden jumps in speed.
18.The pulse sensor is not a medical device. Various factors, including your movement, may affect the accuracy of heart rate readings. The sensor is intended only as an exercise aid in determining heart rate trends in general.
19.Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key and unplug the power cord when the treadmill is not in use.
20.Do not attempt to raise, lower, or move the treadmill until it is properly assembled. (See ASSEMBLY on page 6, and HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL on page 17.) You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.
21.When folding or moving the treadmill, make sure that the storage latch is fully closed.
22.Inspect and properly tighten all parts of the treadmill regularly.
3
23.Never insert any object into any opening.
24.DANGER: Always unplug the power cord immediately after use, before cleaning the treadmill, and before performing the maintenance and adjustment procedures described in this manual. Never remove the motor hood unless instructed to do so by an
authorized service representative. Servicing other than the procedures in this manual should be performed by an authorized service representative only.
25.This treadmill is intended for in-home use only. Do not use this treadmill in a commercial, rental, or institutional setting.
WARNING: Before beginning this or any exercise program, consult your physician. This is especially important for persons over the age of 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. Read all instructions before using. ICON assumes no responsibility for personal injury or property damage sustained by or through the use of this product.

ASSEMBLY
To hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call toll-free 1-800-445-2480.
Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Note: The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high-performance lubricant. During shipping, a small amount of lubricant may be transferred to the top of the walking belt or the shipping carton. This is a normal condition and does not affect treadmill performance. If there is lubricant on top of the walking belt, simply wipe off the lubricant with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
Assembly requires the included allen wrenches |
and your own phillips screwdriver |
, |
|
rubber mallet |
, adjustable wrench |
, and wire cutters |

2.Orient the Right Upright (36) so the square hole near the lower end is in the position shown. Attach the Right Upright to the Upright Base (48) with two Upright Bolts (40) and two Upright Star Washers (39). Do not tighten the Upright Bolts yet.
Attach each Wheel (45) to the Upright Base (48) with a Wheel Bolt (89), two Wheel Spacers (44), and a Nut (47) as shown. Do not overtighten the Wheel Bolts; the Wheels should turn freely.
3.Cut the tie securing the Wire Harness (28) in a bundle. Do not remove the large colored tie on the end of the Wire Harness.
Orient the Upright Base (48) so the Wheels (45) are at the bottom. Next, position the Upright Base and the Uprights (31, 36) around the frame assembly as shown.
Have another person lift the front of the frame assembly and hold it. Insert the Wire Harness (28) into the square hole near the lower end of the Right Upright (36) and out of the top. Next, raise the Uprights (31, 36) so the Upright Base (48) is flat on the floor. Make sure that the end of the Wire Harness does not fall into the Right Upright; it may be helpful to hold the colored tie on the end of the Wire Harness.
4.Open the included grease packet, and apply equal amounts of grease to both sides of each Frame Spacer (34).
Hold one of the Frame Spacers (34) between the frame assembly and the Right Upright (36); make sure that the Frame Spacer is oriented as shown in the inset drawing. Insert a Frame Bolt (32) through a Frame Washer (33), the Right Upright, the Frame Spacer, and the bracket on the frame assembly. Be careful not to pinch the Wire Harness (28) in the Right Upright.
Tighten a Nut (47) several turns onto the Frame Bolt, but do not fully tighten the Nut yet.
Repeat this step on the left side. Note: There is not a wire harness on the left side.
Remove the colored tie from the Wire Harness (28).

5.Identify the Right Handrail (49) (the Latch Housing [30] is attached to the Left Handrail). Next, identify the Right Handrail Endcap (92), which has an “R” near the two screw holes. Slide the Right Handrail Endcap onto the Right Handrail. Next, hold the Right Handrail near the Right Upright (36), and insert the Wire Harness (28) through an Upright Cap (90), into the hole in the bottom of the Right Handrail, and out of the indicated hole in the top. Then, remove the tie from the Wire Harness.
Insert two Handrail Bolts (20) with two Handrail Star Washers (19) through the Right Handrail (49) and the Upright Cap (90). Set the Right Handrail and the Upright Cap on the Right Upright (36) while sliding the lower end of the Right Handrail onto the bracket on the Right Upright. Hand tighten the two Handrail Bolts into the Right Handrail and the Right Upright. Next, slide the Right Handrail Endcap (92) against the Right Upright, and tighten two Endcap Screws (95) into the Right Handrail Endcap. Then, tighten the two Handrail Bolts.
Make sure that the Wire Harness (28) is not pinched.
Attach the Left Handrail (18) to the Left Upright (31) as described above.
6.Hold the Console Base (26) near the Right Handrail (49). Attach the end of the ground wire on the Console Base to the indicated small hole in the Handrail with a Silver Ground Screw (27).
Connect the Wire Harness (28) to wire harness on the Console Base (26). Make sure to connect the connectors properly (see the inset drawing). The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place. If the connectors do not slide together easily and snap into place, turn one connector and try again. IF THE CON-
NECTORS ARE NOT CONNECTED PROPERLY, THE CONSOLE MAY BE DAMAGED WHEN THE POWER IS TURNED ON.
7.Set the console assembly on the Handrails (18, 49); insert the excess wiring down into the Right Handrail. Attach the console assembly with four 3/4” Screws (2), two Console Bolts (22), and two 1/4” Star Washers (21) as shown. Make sure that no wires are pinched. Start all four Screws and both Console Bolts before tightening any of them.
