Application
The HEUFT GATEWAY II gateway server makes access to the HEUFT TeleService (remote service) possible for all the HEUFT SPECTRUM
The gateway server has been designed for assembly into an on-site 19 inch cabinet or rack as standard. These are not included in the scope of delivery of the gateway server but can be obtained from HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH as an option.
The device is not intended for operation in potentially explosive areas.
The device must not be used for other purposes than those for which it has been designed.

Safety information
Danger of electric shock!
Only an electrician is authorised to open the device. Switch the device off beforehand and pull out the power plug.
Unauthorised opening and improper repairs can put the user of the device in danger.
Only trained personnel or HEUFT service technicians are authorised to replace parts.
Moisture and liquids penetrating the device can cause electric shocks or short circuits. Do not allow any liquids to enter the inside of the device.
Switch off the device or leave it switched off until the moisture has evaporated if moisture has penetrated into the electrics / electronics.

Commissioning
Installation
The gateway server has been designed for assembly into an on-site 19 inch cabinet or rack as standard. These are not included in the scope of delivery of the gateway server but can be obtained from HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH as an option.
An electrician authorised by the operator of the control cabinet has to install the gateway server in an on-site control cabinet.
An electrician authorised by the operator of the control cabinet has to connect the control cabinet if the control cabinet in which the gateway server has already been installed is part of the scope of delivery of the device.
A service technician authorised by the HEUFT company generally carries out initial commissioning in accordance with the commissioning instructions.
The network connections between the HEUFT SPECTRUM II devices and the HEUFT GATEWAY assembly commences. Please refer to the PDF documentation (HEUFT HLAN network) which is available as a PDF file on the HEUFT DeviceSupport portal (HEUFT DeviceSupport, page 6) regarding the installation of the network connection.
II
have to be installed on site to the place of installation before
Internet access via LAN (central Internet access)
Requirements concerning the customer's firewall
Changes to the adjustments of the customer's firewall may only be carried out by the network administrator authorised by the customer. The HEUFT service team may not make any changes to the customer's firewall.
The Internet access required for the HEUFT TeleService (remote service) has to be made available on site. The Internet must be accessible via the standard gateway IP configured in the HEUFT GATEWAY result the customer's firewall is responsible for the protection of the network. The connection setup is always initiated by the customer from the HEUFT device and therefore it is not possible to dial in from the outside or even from HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH.
IPsec is used for the connection between the gateway server and the HEUFT TeleService so that secure communication is possible via the Internet. The usual outgoing ports for the IPsec must be enabled in the customer's firewall.
II
. As a
HEUFT DeviceSupport
All the documents for your device are available as PDF files on the HEUFT DeviceSupport portal. You can register on the "www.devicesupport.heuft.com" website if you have not already done so. You will have access to your device documentation and spare parts lists as soon as your access has been activated.

gateway server
HLAN network
The HEUFT GATEWAY II gateway server makes access to the HEUFT TeleService (remote service) possible for all the HEUFT SPECTRUM
II
devices. It has two Ethernet interfaces which are both protected by a
configurable firewall (port filter).
In addition the HEUFT gateway server can be used as a router for separating the HLAN network with the devices and the rest of the customer's network via the two Ethernet interfaces. The integrated firewall makes it possible to limit the routed data traffic between the two interfaces:
no data exchange via routing
permits Internet protocols [http(s), imap(s), pop3(s), smtp and dns] via routing
permits access to HEUFT devices via routing
•ping
permits configuration only via one LAN port - in this case the other port is blocked for the configuration
via the web interface
permits all protocols via routing
A multi-choice selection is possible. The adjustments of the internal firewall for the LAN port to which the HEUFT devices are connected have to be selected so that incoming connections are permitted by the HEUFT devices.
Please refer to Requirements concerning the customer's firewall, page 6 for information regarding the customer's firewall.
It is not possible to install additional customer applications on the GATEWAY
II
gateway server.

Device USB stick
A USB stick on which the device number of the GATEWAY II has been stuck is part of the scope of delivery of the device.
The stick is inserted in the USB socket during commissioning and remains there permanently. It saves the configuration of the GATEWAY
II
. Changes to the configuration are only saved to the stick if this stick is in the
device socket. The device uses the configuration which has been saved to the stick each time the device starts up.
This stick simply has to be inserted in a new device in order to obtain a functional, fully configured gateway server if the device is faulty. Please refer to the online help on the web interface of the GATEWAY
II
for further
information.
Remote service function monitoring
The "remote service function monitoring" makes it possible to permanently monitor the remote service function.
Typical malfunctions such as separated network connections or a configuration which has not been adapted to new conditions can thus be detected and avoided in an emergency.
