The Garmin® GTM 21 FM TMC Traffic Receiver receives Traffic Message Channel
(TMC) information broadcast over the FM radio data system. When a traffic message is received, your Garmin GPS device can change your route to avoid the traffic incident. For coverage areas, refer to the Garmin Web site at www.garmin.com/traffic.
To receive traffic information, the traffic receiver must be connected to the GPS device, connected to an external power source, and the traffic receiver and GPS device must be in data range of an FM station transmitting TMC data.
Note: Garmin is not responsible for the accuracy of the traffic information.

Service and Subscription Information
Depending on your region, your traffic receiver receives traffic data through either a premium service or a free, public service.
For information about your traffic service subscription, see the product packaging or the Traffic settings in the GPS device. The subscription activates automatically after your Garmin GPS device acquires satellite signals while receiving traffic signals from the service provider.
You can add other FM TMC subscriptions at any time. Check the Garmin Web site at
www.garmin.com/fmtraffic for other available services.

Connecting Your GTM 21
1.Remove the vehicle power cable from your Garmin GPS.
2.Connect the cable on the GTM 21 to the power connector on your Garmin GPS.
3.Plug the other end into a power outlet in your vehicle.
4.Use the suction cups to route the antenna vertically on the windshield. We recommend routing it a few inches away from, and parallel to, the A-pillar.

5.Route the cable so that it does not interfere with vehicle operating controls.

Testing the Traffic Receiver
Observe the LEDs on the GTM 21: When the GTM 21 is connected to power, the Power LED is on. The GTM 21 may take up to five minutes to acquire data.
The Status LED indicates the status of the GTM 21:
•Yellow dot-dash flashes: determining which country you are currently in.
•Yellow solid light: searching for signal.
•Red solid light: momentary signal loss.
•Green solid light: normal traffic data.
Check the Map: Check the map on the GPS device for traffic incidents or a traffic icon.
Refer to the owner’s manual.
Verify Signal Strength: If you are inside a garage where radio signals cannot be received, drive the vehicle outside.
Verify that you are in a service area: Check for service from the pay service or free or premium services.

Using Traffic Data with Your Garmin GPS Device
The traffic receiver works with your Garmin GPS device to show traffic flow and incident information, and to enable routing around traffic incidents.Although each GPS device operates differently, they all provide similar traffic information.

Le récepteur d’info-trafic Garmin® TMC FM GTM 21 reçoit les informations TMC (Traffic

Informations relatives au service et à l’abonnement
Selon votre région, votre récepteur d’info-trafic reçoit des données sur la circulation via un abonnement spécial ou un service public gratuit. Pour obtenir des informations sur votre abonnement aux services d’info-trafic, reportez-vous à l’emballage du produit ou aux paramètres de trafic de votre GPS. L’abonnement est automatiquement activé lorsque votre GPS Garmin acquiert des signaux satellites en recevant les signaux sur le trafic envoyés par le prestataire de service.

Connexion du récepteur GTM 21
1.Débranchez le câble allume-cigare de votre GPS Garmin.
2.Branchez le câble du récepteur GTM 21 au connecteur d’alimentation de votre GPS Garmin.
3.Branchez l’autre extrémité à la prise de courant de votre véhicule.
4.Utilisez les ventouses pour positionner l’antenne à la verticale sur le pare-brise. Nous vous recommandons de la placer à quelques centimètres et parallèlement au montant A.

Test du récepteur d’info-trafic
Observez les voyants du GTM 21 : lorsque le récepteur GTM 21 est relié à une source
d’alimentation, le voyant d’alimentation s’allume. L’acquisition des données peut prendre jusqu’à cinq minutes.
Le voyant DEL d’état indique le statut du récepteur d’info-trafic GTM 21 :
•Voyant clignotant jaune : détermine le pays dans lequel vous vous trouvez.
•Voyant fixe jaune : recherche du signal.
•Voyant fixe rouge : perte de synchronisation temporaire.
•Voyant fixe vert : données de trafic normal.
Observation de la carte : sur la carte de votre GPS, vérifiez s’il y a des problèmes de circulation ou recherchez une icône de trafic. Reportez-vous au manuel d’utilisation.
Vérification de l’intensité du signal : si vous vous trouvez dans un garage où la réception des signaux radio s’avère impossible, sortez votre véhicule à l’air libre.
Vérification de votre zone de service : vérifiez que vous bénéficiez d’un service payant, gratuit ou d’un abonnement spécial.

Utilisation des informations trafic avec votre GPS Garmin
Le récepteur d’info-trafic fonctionne avec votre GPS Garmin de façon à afficher des informations sur la fluidité du trafic et les problèmes de circulation ;

L’abbonamento si attiva automaticamente una volta che il dispositivo GPS Garmin ha acquisito il segnale satellitare durante la ricezione delle segnalazioni sul traffico dal provider del servizio.

Collegamento di GTM 21
1.Rimuovere il cavo di alimentazione del veicolo dal dispositivo GPS Garmin.
2.Collegare il cavo di GTM 21 al connettore di alimentazione del dispositivo GPS Garmin.
3.Collegare l’altra estremità a una presa di alimentazione del veicolo.
4.Utilizzare le ventose per orientare l’antenna verticalmente sul parabrezza. Si consiglia di orientarla vicino e parallela alla colonna A.

Verifica del ricevitore Info Traffico
Osservare i LED su GTM 21: quando GTM 21 è collegato a una fonte di alimentazione, il LED di alimentazione è acceso. L’acquisizione dei dati tramite GTM 21 potrebbe richiedere fino a cinque minuti.
Il LED di stato indica lo stato di GTM 21.
•Luce gialla intermittente: identificazione del paese di appartenenza in corso.
•Luce gialla fissa: ricerca del segnale in corso.
•Luce rossa fissa: perdita momentanea di sincronizzazione.
•Luce verde fissa: dati di traffico normali.
Verificare la mappa: verificare l’eventuale presenza di eventi che generano traffico o di un’icona del traffico sulla mappa della periferica
GPS. Consultare il manuale dell’utente.
Verificare la potenza del segnale: se ci si trova all’interno di garage in cui non è possibile ricevere i segnali radio, condurre il veicolo all’esterno.
Verificare di essere posizionati in un’area di servizio: verificare la disponibilità del servizio: a pagamento, gratuito o speciale.

Utilizzo delle Info sul traffico con il dispositivo GPS Garmin
Il ricevitore Info Traffico funziona con il dispositivo GPS Garmin per evitare gli ingorghi dovuti a incidenti grazie alla visualizzazione di informazioni sul traffico e sulla viabilità.
