Installation Instructions for Your Franke Stainless Steel Sink

Find your sink model listed on the back page for corresponding method of installation.

DROP-IN (ABOVE MOUNT): STAINLESS STEEL

NOTE: Inspect sink for damage; do not install a damaged unit. File a claim against the shipping agent.

1.Place template on the counter and trace.

2.Cut along the outline.

3.Slide or snap clips into position. Turn claws of clips towards sink. (To clear countertop while lowering sink into cutout).

NOTE: Some clips may already be in place.

4.Faucet and strainer basket may be assembled at this time, if desired.

5.Lower sink into countertop cutout. Most Franke sinks are shipped with factory applied polyseal. These need no extra sealant. If there is no factory installed sealant, please use additional sealant.

6.Turn clips out and tighten against the underside of the countertop.

DROP-IN SLIM FIX: STAINLESS STEEL

NOTE: Inspect sink for damage; do not install a damaged unit. File a claim against the shipping agent.

1.Place template on counter and trace.

2.Cut along the outline (NOTE: it is important to cut exactly to the trace line – the sink ledge that overhangs on the countertop is low profile [see Inset A]).

3.Strainer basket may be assembled at this time if desired.

4.Place silicone on inner edge of cut-out and a thin application along cut line atop the counter.

5.Simply place the sink into the cut-out, making certain drain hole is to the back. Clips will automatically adhere to the counter (see Inset B & C).

UNDERMOUNT: STAINLESS STEEL: SINGLE BOWL

This sink is specifically designed to be undermounted in a solid surface countertop only.

CAUTION: Sink edge may be sharp; handle with caution. Do not install a damaged sink. Inspect carefully.

1. The size should be exact as this sink uses coordinating accessories which fit precisely in the cut out.

Sink flush with countertop.

No recessed countertop.

No countertop overhang.

 

 

 

2.Determine placement of the clip brackets as indicated on the template. Pre-drill holes according to method desired based on countertop material. NOTE: You the fabricator may elect to epoxy in the screw or use a brass anchor.

3.Apply a bead of silicone evenly along edge on the underside of countertop.

4.Position and align sink over the opening. Press sink into silicone seal.

5.After re-checking alignment, tighten clip brackets against the sink edge.

6.Remove excess silicone.

HINT: After silicone cures, wipe inside edge with denatured alcohol. This will smooth out any rough areas.

This sink is specifically designed to be undermounted in a solid surface countertop only.

SINKS THAT CAN EITHER BE INSET or UNDERMOUNTED

NOTE: The sink template has been designed for both inset and undermounting. The template is standard for inset mounting. If undermounting method is needed, simply remove the outer ring at the perforated score.

CAUTION: Damage caused by improper handling or installation is not covered by the warranty. Do not install a damaged sink.

1. Cut out countertop per cutout.

A.INSET

2A. Apply silicone to underside of the rim.

3A. Lower the sink into the countertop cutout. (Waste hole should be positioned at the rear). 4A. Tighten the clip against the underside of the counter.

B.UNDERMOUNT

2B. Cut-out should be flush with the countertop.

3B. Determine placement of clip brackets as indicated by template. Pre-drill holes according to method desired based on countertop material. NOTE: You the fabricator may elect to epoxy in the screw or use a brass anchor (not provided).

4B. Apply a bead of silicone evenly along wedge of underside of counter.

5B. Position and align sink over opening. Press sink into silicone seal.

6B. After re-checking alignment, tighten clip bracket against sink edge.

7B. Remove excess silicone.
