Management of Change
Management of Change (MOC) is a procedure used to proactively manage changes that have the potential to impact safety or the process within a plant. Evaluating new techniques for improving MOC approval procedures can have an impact on
plant efciency. Historically, upgrading obsolete products or replacing existing process control equipment had been delayed or abandoned due to the extensive paperwork involved in completing a complex MOC approval sheet.
Background
The Fisher 8532 valve is now available in size NPS 30, 36, 42, and 48. These new sizes of 8532 valve can fully replace the soon to be obsolete Fisher POSI-SEAL A11 valve NPS 30-48 Class 150/150, 150. This is part of a continuing effort to consolidate the Fisher High-Performance Buttery Valve (HPBV) product offering.
The NPS 30-48 8532 valve has been developed with the same features and options as the NPS 14-24 range of 8532 valves. The 8532 valve congured with keyed shafts will perform and install the same as the A11 valve, and it may be used in the
same applications.

POSI-SEAL A11 and 8532 Valve Comparison
The following sections are intended to provide a nominal comparison between the Fisher POSI-SEAL 11 valve and the Fisher 8532 valve.
MOC: A11 to 8532 Valve
August 2018
Scope, Size, Class
Sizes NPS 30-48 CL150/150, 150, and 300 of the A11 valve will be made obsolete
and replaced with the 8532 valves in equivalent size and class.
Capacities (Cv)
The ow capacity of the NPS 30-48 8532 valve is the same as the A11 valve.
Actuator Sizing (Torque)
The actuator sizing for the 8532 valve is the same as the A11 valve. The sizing
coefcients, breakout torque, and dynamic torque are also the same.
Dimensions
The NPS 30-48 8532 valve has the same face-face and actuator mounting
dimensions as the A11 valve.
Spare Parts
The A11 valve and 8532 valve use many of the same trim parts, including seals,
gaskets, and bearings. The 8532 valve is available with both standard and ENVIRO-SEAL packing. The packing parts of the NPS30-48 8532 and A11 valves are not interchangeable.
