ADA HIGH VOLTAGE WIRING INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOUBLE BLOWER RANGE HOODS WITH
ROCKER SWITCH CONTROL
! WARNING
For residential (domestic) installation only. Before proceeding, switch power off at service panel and lock service disconnecting means to prevent power from being switched on accidentally. Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including fire-rated construction codes and standards. Also, it is recommended to wear safety glasses and gloves.
ACCESS TO RANGE HOOD CONTROL PANEL CONNECTIONS
Remove both filters from the hood and set them aside.
Remove both side fillers by removing the 3 screws holding each one of them. Slide each one towards the center of the hood and tilt it up to remove it completely. Set the fillers and screws aside.
Locate the small plates on both left and right inner side ot the hood (shaded part in illustration below). Use thin sheet metal snips to split these plates.
CAUTION
Be careful not to kink the range hood side panels while splitting the plates.
NOTES: 1. The plates are for shipping purpose only, there is no need to reinstall them.
2.Blower not shown on illustration to ease understanding.

Using a 11/32” nutdriver or socket, remove both lock nuts retaining the flange of each blower cover plate (shaded parts on illustration at right) to the inner back of hood (see insets). Remove all cover plate retaining screws (10 screws), then set both blower covers along with their screws and nut aside.

WIRING PROCEDURES
CAUTION
Use standard switches that are rated 120 VAC, 15 A. Only use wires suitable for at least 90oC (194oF). Ensure the wires are reliably routed away from the halogen lights (if present).
To suit your needs, there are 2 ways to wire a 2-rocker switch control to these range hoods: 120 VAC power cable entering the range hood or 120 VAC power cable entering the switch box.

RANGE HOOD OPERATION
Use the hood control to set or change the blower and light intensities desired; these settings will be applied when using the wall switches. For example, if the blower is set on high speed using the hood control, when the user presses on the motor rocker switch on the wall control, the blower will then turn on high speed. If the user wants the blower to turn on low speed, the blower speed must be changed using the hood control. It is not necessary to turn off the blower to change its speed.
The same procedure applies for the light intensities (when low and high intensities are available).
THIS PROCEDURE APPLIES TO BROAN BPDC1, BPDP1, AND NUTONE NPDP1
DOUBLE BLOWER RANGE HOOD SERIES.
