OWNER'S MANUAL

AIR CONDITIONER (SPLIT TYPE)

Thank you very much for choosing our product.

Please read this owner's manual carefully before using your air conditioner.

5.Install the air freshening filter back into position.

6.Insert the upper portion of air filter back into the unit taking care that the left and right edges line up correctly and place filter into position.

MAINTENANCE

Periodically check the air inlet and outlet on both the indoor and outdoor unit for blockages.

If they are blocked, clear them.

If you plan to idle the unit for a long time.

1.

Operate the fan for about half a day to dry the inside of the unit.

2.

Stop the air

conditioner and disconnect the power source. Remove the batteries from

the remote

controller.

3.The outdoor unit requires periodic maintenance and cleaning. Do not attempt to do this yourself. Please contact your dealer or servicer.

NOTICE

Be sure your power supply meets the specifications on the nameplate.

An earth leakage circuit breaker or air-breaker should be installed in the power wiring system.

The capacity of the breaker should be 1.5 times of the maximum ampere rating of the unit.

To avoid electric shock, please ground the unit.

The air conditioner MUST be used on dedicated circuit.

If need be, use the power fuse or the circuit breaker specified in INSTALLATION MANUAL.

Never pull on any of the wiring . To change the wiring ,please call a professional electrician or

servicer.

If the supply cord is damaged, please call a professional electrician or servicer for repairs.

10. Heating operation

During the HEATING operation, the air conditioner absorbs the heat outside the room and brings it into the room. If the outdoor temperature drops too low, the air temperature at the indoor outlet will correspondingly be reduced. A decrease in outdoor temperatures will result in a decrease in heat output.

11. Warm air control (heat/ cool units only)

Under the HEAT mode (including heat under AUTO mode), the indoor fan speed is automatically reduced or stopped to prevent a cold draft and the DEF./PRE-DEF light will be on if the set temperature has not been reached. Under the following three situations:

1 Heating just starts

2Defrosting has just finished

3Outdoor temperature is extremely low.

12.Three-minute protection feature

After shutting the unit off ,there is a built in 3 minute protection feature which will not allow the unit to restart until the 3 minutes is reached.

CLEANING

£¡ WARNING It is necessary to stop the air conditioner and disconnect the power supply

plug before cleaning.

CLEANING THE INDOOR UNIT

1.

Use a dry cloth to wipe the indoor unit and remote controller.

2.

A cloth dampened with cold water may be used on the indoor unit if it is very dirty.

3.

The indoor panel can be removed and cleaned with water. Wipe dry before reinstalling on unit.

£¡ CAUTION:

Do not use a chemically treated cloth or duster to clean the unit.

Do not use benzine, thinner, polishing powder, or similar solvents for cleaning. These may cause the plastic surface to crack or deform.

CLEANING THE AIR FILTER

Panel

Air freshening filter

Filter Handle

A clogged air filter reduces the cooling efficiency of this unit. Please clean the filter once every 2 weeks.

1.To clean the air filter , lift the panel up to a fixed position. It will click into position. Firmly grasp the middle of the filter and pull it downwards.

2.Remove the air freshening filter from the mesh cleaning filter.

3.Use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust or wash the air filter.

4.Clean the air freshening filter

ACTIVE CARBON FILTER/ELECTROSTATIC FILTER To clean the Carbon/Electrostatic filter, immerse in water with a MILD detergent for 20 minutes. Wash the filter GENTLY(do not rub it clean) and place the filter under a lamp for 3-4 hours to dry. Replace the filter after cleaning it 4-5 times.

NOTICE:

The indicator lights flash rapidly (five times per second)when safety protection features come into operation.

DISPLAY PANEL

1.OPERATION indicator

This indicator flashes once every second after power is on and illuminates when the air conditioner is in operation.

2.ECONO. indicator

This indicator illuminates while the air conditioner is in economic operation.

3.TIMER indicator

This indicator illuminates when TIMER is set ON.

4.PRE-DEF indicator(cooling/heating only) The air conditioner starts defrosting automatically if outdoor unit frosts in heating operation. At this time, PRE-DEF indicator illuminates.

NONPROBLEMATIC OPERATIONS

The following occurences do not mean the unit is malfunctioning.

.1 Nonoperation

.The unit does not work immediately after the ON/OFF button is pushed.

The OPERATION light indicating normal performance is on. However, there is a compressor

protection built into the unit which does not allow the unit to start until the pressures have

.equalized within the system. This is approximately a 3 minute delay.

In Heat/Cool units only, both the OPERATION light and PRE-DEF light is on at the same time and the unit is in the HEATING mode. The low ambient temperature will activate the WARM AIR CONTROL.

.2 A white mist of chilled air is generated from the indoor unit

Cooling in a room with a high relative humidity ,especially combined with the presence of high

levels of dust or oil, causes an unstable room temperature. This is due to a build up of dirt or dust in the indoor unit .The unit should be cleaned by a qualified servicer as soon as possible.

.3 Noise

A hissing sound can be heard during the defrost cycle or immediately after the cycle stops.

.This is due to a change in refrigerant flow between the indoor and outdoor units.

Due to the extreme temperature fluctuations during operation causing expansion or contraction

of the plastic parts within the indoor unit, you may hear an occasional squeaking noise.

.4 Dust is blown out of the indoor unit.

This will occur after an extended period of non-operation.

.5 Bad odor is coming out from the indoor unit.

This is because the indoor unit gives off the smell impregnated from the wall, furniture, or smoking.

6.Turning to FAN ONLY while COOLING

To defrost the coil, the unit will switch to FAN ONLY mode automatically from time to time. As the

.coil defrosts, the unit will return to COOLING mode.

When the set room temperature is reached, the compressor will shut off and the unit will switch into the FAN ONLY mode. The compressor will restart and cooling will begin again when the room temperature increases.

7. Turn to FAN ONLY while HEATING.

When the set room temperature is reached, the compressor will shut off and the unit will switch into the FAN ONLY mode. The compressor will restart and heating will begin again when the room temperature decreases.

8.During high humidity conditions( 85% relative humidity or greater), the surface of the indoor unit may sweat.

9.Defrosting operation (Cooling/Heating type only)

If the outdoor unit is frosted during heating operation, the heating output will be reduced. At this point ,the sensor will sense the frost built up and the control will shut off the fans. Heating will resume after defrosting is finished.
