IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
READ AND SAVE THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS AIR PURIFIER
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:
1.Read all instructions before operating the air purifier.
2.Place air purifier where it is not easily knocked over by persons in the household.
3.Always turn the air purifier controls to the OFF position and unplug from the wall outlet when not in use.
4.To disconnect the model HHT-090 series air purifiers, press the Power button to turn the unit off, grip the plug and pull it from the wall outlet. Never pull by the cord.
5.Do not use any product with a damaged cord or plug or if product malfunctions, is dropped or damaged in any manner. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
6.Do not use air purifier outdoors.
7.Never use air purifier unless it is fully assembled.
8.Do not run power cord under carpets, and do not cover with throw rugs. Arrange cord such that it will not be tripped over.

9.Do not use air cleaner where combustible gases or vapors are present.
10.Do not expose the air purifier to rain, or use near water, in a bathroom, laundry area or other damp location.
11.The air purifier must be used in its upright position.
12.Do not allow foreign objects to enter ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause electric shock or damage to the air purifier. Do not block air outlets or intakes.
13.Locate air purifier near the outlet and avoid using an extension cord.
14.This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of shock, this plug is intended to fit only one way in a polarized outlet. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature.
15.A loose fit between the AC outlet (receptacle) and plug may cause overheating and a distortion of the plug. Contact a qualified electrician to replace loose or worn outlet.
16.Do not sit, stand or place heavy objects on the air purifier.
17.Disconnect power supply before servicing.

SET-UP
•Select a firm, level and flat location. For proper airflow, locate the unit at least 3 feet (1 M) from any wall or furniture.
•When operating, large volumes of air are drawn toward the air purifier. Surrounding areas should be cleaned and/or vacuumed frequently to prevent build-up of dust and other contaminates. This may also help prolong the life of the filter. If the unit is placed on a light colored carpet, a small mat or rug should be used underneath to prevent permanent staining. This is especially important in homes with contamination from smoking or fireplaces.

INSTALL HEPA-TYPE FILTERS
The HEPA-Type Filters are supplied within the air purifier. They are wrapped to ensure purity.

Turn off and unplug the air purifier. |

Remove the rear grille by pressing the notch on the top of the rear grille and |

pulling the grille towards you. |

Remove the filters by gently pushing along the edge of the filter frame and |
|
|
pulling it forward. Repeat for the second filter. |
|
•Remove the protective wrap from the filters.
•Place the filters back into the air purifier housing and snap the rear grille back
into place.
Note that the pre-filter needs to be in position along the rear grille before snapping the grille back into place.

Ensure the air purifier is plugged into a working electrical outlet. |

Press the power button ( ) once. The unit will automatically start at medium |

Press the power button again to select a different cleaning level. |

It is recommended you run your air purifier 24 hours a day to ensure |

Portable air purifiers are more effective in rooms where all doors and |

IONIZER FEATURE |

The Ionizer helps boost the performance of the air purifier and helps freshen the |

•Press the Ionizer Control button ( 
) (Fig. 4). The button will illuminate and the ionizer will turn on.
• To turn the Ionizer feature off, simply press the button again. The button will no longer be illuminated.

ELECTRONIC FILTER CLEAN REMINDER
This model air purifier has an electronic filter check to remind you when to check and clean the HEPAType filters based on the air cleaner’s hours of use.

A red LED light will illuminate when it is time to clean the filter.
You should periodically check the filter. Depending on operating conditions, the filters should be cleaned every 6 months to a year.
To RESET the Electronic Filter Check:
When the filter check light remains on, it is time to check/clean the HEPA-Type
filters and reset the filter check, if needed. With the unit powered on, insert the tip of a ball-point pen or paperclip into the hole next to the LED filter check light and hold for approximately 5 seconds until the light turns off (Fig 5). Depending upon your individual usage (environment and hours used), you may need to check and clean the filters more or less frequently. If the HEPA-Type filters are cleaned before the filter check light turns on, the filter check should be reset at the same time.
These cleaning intervals are intended as guidelines only. Performance of any filter media is dependent upon the concentration of contaminates going through the system. High concentrations of contaminates such as dust, pet dander and smoking will reduce the useful performance of the filter.
NOTE: The HEPA-Type filters are not washable.

To Clean Your HEPA-Type Filter: |
|
• DO NOT USE WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS TO CLEAN THE HEPA-TYPE FILTER.
• To vacuum-clean the filter, hold the filter and run a vacuum cleaner with a nozzle or brush attachment along the filter to pick-up the dirt and particles (Fig. 6). Repeat along the entire surface of the HEPA-Type filter.
•Note the filter may still be discolored even after cleaning it. This is acceptable and will not affect performance.

MAINTAINING YOUR STAGE 1 WASHABLE PARTICLE PRE-FILTER
The stage 1 particle pre-filter helps pick up large airborne particles that enter the rear grille. This pre-filter can be periodically removed and shaken to clean it. Alternatively, it can be rinsed by hand under warm water (Fig. 7). Let the pre-filter air dry completely before inserting back into the unit (Fig. 8). We recommend that you clean the air purifier at least once a month and before extended storage.
Use only a dry cloth to wipe the external surfaces of the air purifier. DO NOT USE WATER, WAX POLISH,
OR ANY CHEMICAL SOLUTION.
If your Air Purifier will not be used for more than 30 days, we recommend:
•Remove the HEPA-Type Filters from the unit.
•Wrap the HEPA-Type Filters in an air tight plastic bag.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
My Air Purifier is starting to make noise and the air output is less. What’s wrong?
The filters may be dirty. High amounts of contaminates can block the pores in the filter and stop the air from moving through it. Clean the Filters.
How long should I run my Air Purifier?
For best results, you should operate your Air Purifier 24 hours a day. This unit will be more effective when doors and windows are closed.
Can I wash my HEPA-Type filter?
No. Washing the HEPA-Type filter will destroy it.
How does the electronic filter check work?
The filter check LED will light up after 6 months of continuous operation of the air purifier.
