ENERGY STAR® Program guidelines for energy efficiency.

The International ENERGY STAR® Office

Equipment Program is an international program that promotes energy saving through the use of computers and other office equipment.

The program backs the development and dissemination of products with functions that effectively reduce energy consumption. It is an open system in which business proprietors can participate voluntarily. The targeted products are office equipment, such as computers, monitors, printers, fax, machine, copiers, and scanners. The standards and logos are uniform among participating nations.

This model doesn’t provide setting options for power management.

Removing the Protective Material

Remove the flatbed from the box, and remove the orange tape (▼) from the flatbed.

Releasing the Lock Switch

The flatbed is shipped with the internal scanning unit locked into place. Before using the flatbed, set the lock switch on the side of the flatbed to the position to release the scanning unit

Installing the Software

Before Installation

Do not connect the scanners to the computer before installing the software.

Log on to Windows as an Administrator.

Close all other applications before installing the software.

Make sure that the driver for the connected Canon DR-seriesdocument scanner is already installed.

If you connect a scanner and turn it ON before you install the software, the following wizard screen will appear. If this wizard is displayed, click the [Cancel] button to exit the wizard, and turn the scanner OFF.

Connecting the Scanners to a Computer

When connecting the flatbed and the Canon DR-seriesscanner, do not use the USB cable supplied with theDR-seriesscanner. Instead, use the USB cable supplied with the flatbed.

If you own multiple Canon DR-seriesscanners

If you own multiple Canon DR-seriesscanners, with the exception of the CanonDR-seriesscanner connected to the flatbed, do not connect any other scanners to the computer, regardless of compatibility. Proper functioning is not guaranteed if multiple scanners are connected.

Connecting the Scanners to a Power Supply

Turning the Scanners ON

Turn ON the flatbed first, and then turn ON the Canon DR-seriesscanner.

This completes the setup.
