WARRANTY

THE CANNON APPLIANCE IS WARRANTED AGAINST DEFECTS

IN MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1)

YEAR FROM THE DATE OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE, FOR

RESIDENTIAL USE IN AUSTRALIA.

WARRANTY SERVICE, WHICH INCLUDES PARTS AND LABOUR

FOR THE REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR OF DEFECTIVE PARTS,

IS AVAILABLE THROUGH CANNON AUTHORIZED SERVICE

AGENCIES. (PLEASE REFER TO THE LIST OF AUTHORISED

SERVICE AGENTS IN THIS MANUAL).

CONSUMERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SERVICE PERSON’S

TRAVEL OUTSIDE NORMAL SERVICE AREAS (APPROXIMATELY

SEVENTY 70K RADIUS FROM THE NEAREST CANNON DEALER’S

LOCATION), LOCAL CARTAGE, AND NORMAL MAINTENANCE AS

DESCRIBED IN THIS MANUAL.

ANY PRODUCT SUBJECTED TO MISUSE, ABUSE, NEGLIGENCE,

ACCIDENT OR ALTERATION WILL HAVE IT’S WARRANTY VOIDED.

THE DEFACEMENT OF SERIAL PLATE WILL HAVE IT’S

WARRANTY VOIDED.

IF INSTALLATION IS NOT CARRIED OUT IN ACCORDANCE WITH

THE MANUFACTURER’S INSTRUCTIONS, THIS WARRANTY WILL

BE VOIDED.

THE CUSTOMER MUST KEEP THEIR “TAX INVOICE” AS PROOF

OF PURCHASE OF THIS PRODUCT AND THE COMPLIANCE

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS.

WARNINGS.

PLEASE READ THIS MANUAL BEFORE USING THIS HEATER.

1.TURN OFF THE MAIN GAS SUPPLY.

2.EXTINGUISH ANY OPEN FLAME.

3.OPEN WINDOWS.

4.DO NOT TOUCH ELECTRICAL SWITCHES.

5.DO NOT USE YOUR TELEPHONE.

6.CALL YOUR GAS SUPPLIER IMMEDIATELY FROM YOUR NEIGHBOUR’S PHONE.

1.IMPROPER INSTALLATION, ADJUSTMENT, ALTERATION, SERVICE OR MAINTENANCE CAN CAUSE INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. REFER TO OTHER SECTIONS OF THIS MANUAL FOR CORRECT PROCEDURES, OR CONSULT WITH PLACE OF PURCHASE, A LICENSED PLUMBER, A GAS SUPPLIER OR SERVICE AGENT LISTED IN THIS MANUAL.

2.DUE TO HIGH TEMPERATURES, THE ROOM HEATER SHOULD BE LOCATED OUT OF TRAFFIC AND AWAY FROM:

FURNITURE.

COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS.

GASOLINE AND OTHER FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS.

DO NOT PLACE CLOTHING OR OTHER FLAMMABLE MATERIAL ON OR NEAR THE HEATER.

3.KEEP CURTAINS *, CLOTHING, FURNITURE AND OTHER FLAMMABLE MATERIALS AT LEAST 900mm FROM THE FRONT AND SIDES OF THE HEATER.

*AT THE OWNER’S DISCRETION CURTAIN CLEARANCES CAN BE LESS THAN 900mm AS LONG AS THEY ARE RESTRAINED FROM THE FRONT, TOP AND SIDES OF THE HEATER.

THE MANUFACTURER TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY IF CURTAIN CLEARANCE IS LESS THAN 900mm AND NOT RESTRAINED.

4.CHILDREN AND ADULTS SHOULD BE ALERTED TO THE HAZARDS OF HIGH SURFACE TEMPERATURE AND SHOULD TAKE CARE TO AVOID BURNS OR CLOTHING IGNITION.

THIS HEATER IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE BY YOUNG CHILDREN OR INFIRM PERSONS WITHOUT SUPERVISION.

YOUNG CHILDREN SHOULD BE CAREFULLY SUPERVISED WHEN THEY ARE IN THE SAME ROOM AS THE HEATER.

YOUNG CHILDREN SHOULD BE SUPERVISED TO ENSURE THAT THEY DO NOT PLAY WITH THE HEATER.

5. NEVER ATTEMPT TO BURN PAPER OR OTHER MATERIAL IN THE HEATER.

6. DO NOT SPRAY AEROSOLS IN THE VICINITY OF THIS APPLIANCE WHILE IT IS IN OPERATION.

DO NOT PLACE ARTICLES ON OR AGAINST THIS APPLIANCE.

DO NOT USE OR STORE FLAMMABLE MATERIALS NEAR THIS

APPLIANCE.

7. IF REMOVED THE GLASS WINDOW MUST BE PUT BACK ONTO THE UNIT PRIOR TO OPERATING THE HEATER.

8. INSTALLATION AND REPAIRS SHOULD BE PERFORMED BY A LICENSED SERVICE PERSON ONLY, REFER TO BACK OF MANUAL FOR SERVICE NUMBERS.

9. FOR INSTALLATION INTO A COMBUSTIBLE FIREPLACE CONSTRUCTED FROM TIMBER OR PLASTERBOARD, THE FLUE WILL NEED TO BE SUPPORTED TO MAINTAIN CLEARANCES FROM COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS.

 

NOTE: WHEN INSTALLING INTO A MOCK FIREPLACE A MOCK

 

FIREPLACE INSTALLATION KIT MUST BE USED.

 

10. THE HEATER MUST BE INSTALLED WITH IT’S INTEGRAL FLUE

 

CORRECTLY INSTALLED FOR THIS HEATER TO OPERATE

 

PROPERLY, IF NOT CORRECTLY INSTALLED AND MAINTAINED

 

VENTING SYSTEM CAN RESULT IN CARBON MONOXIDE (CO)

 

POISONING AND POSSIBLE DEATH.

 

11. THE APPLIANCE SHOULD BE INSPECTED PRIOR TO USE,

 

WITH REGULAR INSPECTIONS (ANNUALLY) TO BE MADE BY A

 

LICENSED SERVICE PERSON. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT

 

CIRCULATING AIR PASSAGEWAYS OF THE APPLIANCE BE

 

KEPT CLEAN, DIRT AND LINT FREE, FOR A SAFE AND

 

EFFICIENT OPERATION OF THE HEATER.

 

12. ON THE FIRST LIGHTING YOUR HEATER A SMELL MAY OCCUR

 

DUE TO IT’S NEW CONDITION. THIS IS NORMAL AND WILL

 

DISAPPEAR AFTER A FEW HOURS OF USE AT MAXIMUM

 

CONTROL POSITION.

 

IMPORTANT.

 

WHEN THIS HEATER IS OPERATING, THE MESH GUARD IS HOT.

 

THE MESH GUARD FITTED TO THE HEATER CONFORMS TO

 

AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS.

 

FOR PERMENANT PROTECTION OF YOUNG CHILDREN OR THE

 

INFIRM A SECONDARY GUARD SHOULD BE PLACED AROUND

 

THE HEATER.

 

A SECONDARY GUARD IS NOT PROVIDED WITH THIS HEATER

 

AND MAY BE PURCHASED BY THE OWNER.

3.TO TURN HEATER ON PRESS SWITCH TO POWER ON POSITION. THERE IS A 30 SECOND DELAY BEFORE THE BURNER IGNITES. THIS DELAY IS TO ALLOW THE IGNITION SEQUENCE TO TAKE EFFECT. AT THIS SETTING THE BURNER IS ONLOW.

THE BURNER WILL IGNITE ON BOTH HIGH ANDLOW SETTINGS. REFERFIG 3.

TURN THE HEATER BACK ON AGAIN.

THIS WILL ALLOW THE SWITCH WHICH CONTROLS THE IGNITION

TIME TO RESET.

DO NOT USE THIS HEATER IF THE GLASS IS CRACKED OR WITH

THE GLASS REMOVED.

DO NOT USE HEATER WITH BROKEN OR MISSING LOGS.

THE HEATER FLAME SHOULD BE STABLE, NO LIFTING FROM THE BURNER AND THE LOGS SHOULD GLOW AFTER APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES OPERATION ON HIGH SETTING.

THE HEATER IS A FUEL EFFECT UNIT AND IS DESIGNED TO OPERATE WITH LUMINOUS FLAMES AND MAY EXHIBIT SLIGHT CARBON DEPOSIT ON THE LOGS. IF ANY EXCESS CARBON BUILD UP ON LOGS OR THE BURNER FLAME IS UNSTABLE, CONTACT SAMPFORD AND STAFF IN YOUR STATE.

CLEANING

ALL CLEANING SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT WHEN THE HEATER IS

 

COLD. NORMALLY THE HEATER SHOULD ONLY NEED WIPING WITH

 

A LINT FREE DAMP CLOTH. ANY STUBBORN STAINS CAN BE

 

REMOVED WITH A NON-ABRASIVESPRAY ON CLEANER. IF AN

 

ABRASIVE CLEANER IS USED THE PAINT FINISH WILL BE DAMAGED.

 

INTERNALLY THE HEATER SHOULD ONLY BE CLEANED BY A

 

LICENSED SERVICE PERSON LISTED IN THIS MANUAL.

 

IF YOUR HEATER REQUIRES ATTENTION CONTACT YOUR SUPPLIER

 

OR LICENSED SERVICE PERSON LISTED IN THIS MANUAL.
