Console Commands

Client

Use Client to determine all or local LANE (LAN emulation) and IP/ATM (IP over ATM) clients on the switch.

Number of the local client.

In the Output Parameter table below, (</d>) appears next to parameters that are available only through theshow client /d (detailed) command.

[Type]

Type of client.

[IP Address]

IP address of client.

[Server Type]

Specifies what server type the client is on.

[Server Conn]

Type of connection the client has with the server.

[Status]

Current status of the client.

[Client State] (</d>)

Status of where the client is in the process of making a connection.

[Client Address] (</d>)

ATM address of the client.

[LAN Name] (</d>)

ELAN name for this client.

[LECS Addr Source]

ILMI, well-knownaddress, or LECS address.

[LECS Address] (</d>)

ATM address of the LECS.

[LES Address] (</d>)

ATM address of the LANE server.

[LAN Type] (</d>)

Type of ELAN.

[MTU] (</d>)

Maximum transfer unit assigned for this client.

[IP NetMask] (</d>)

IP netmask assigned to the client.

restart [ClientNumber] <clientnumber>

Administrator

Removes a client from the switch.

Restarts a client from the switch. If a client fails to successfully join a VLAN, you can restart the client to retry. The switch software, on a periodic basis, automatically tries to restart clients that have not successfully joined. Enter show client to confirm that the client(s) have restarted.

show

[ClientNumber] <clientnumber> Displays the details of a client on the switch. You can obtain

client (/d)

more details of all the clients on the switch by adding

/d to

 

 

 

the end of the command. For example, show client /d.
