barrel holds heat longer

WARNING: Due to the extreme heat capabilities of this iron, extra care should be taken when using.

IMPORTANT:

This iron has been coated with a special oil to temper the barrel and protect it during shipping. When heating for the first time, preheat iron 4 to 5 minutes. You will notice some smoke and a slight odor. This is normal and will quickly disappear.

TO USE:

1.Insert iron into heater stove and heat for 1 to 3 minutes, depending upon the strength of the curl you desire and the type and texture of hair it is used on.

CAUTION: After initial heating to remove oil, do not allow iron to heat for more that 3 minutes. The extreme heat may damage hair. If iron is heated for more than 3 minutes,do not use; remove it and let it cool. (Time may vary due to barrel size and number of irons heated at one time. Test iron on a small section of hair before using.)

2.For styling, section hair into strands of not more than 1 inch deep and 2 inches wide.

3.Keep the hair strand smooth by brushing or combing through the section while holding the ends taut with the other hand.

4.Taking one section at a time, place the ends of hair under the barrel with the clamp open. Then close the clamp making sure that the ends extend just a tiny bit beyond the clamp.

5.Keep the section of hair taut as you wind it around the hot barrel by turning the handle. Wind the curl toward scalp as far as you wish to go without touching scalp with the hot barrel.

6.When you are ready to release curl, unwind about half a turn (for longer hair, unwind a bit more) and open the clamp.

7.Now, gently withdraw the barrel from the center of curl.

8.Allow curl to cool, and try not to disturb curls as you proceed in the same manner around whole head.

STYLING TIP: For bouncy, flip-upcurls, the clamp should beunder and the barrelover the section of hair at the start of curl. For curlunder,page-boystyles, the clamp should beover and the barrelunder the hair section at the start of curl.
