This Online Manual will introduce to the user how this product is installed. All useful information will be described in later chapters. Please keep this manual carefully for future upgrades or system configuration changes. This Online Manual is saved in PDF format, we recommend using Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 for online viewing, it is included inBonus CD disc or you can get free download fromAdobe web site.

Although this Online Manual is optimized for screen viewing, it is still capable for hardcopy printing, you can print it by A4 paper size and set 2 pages per A4 sheet on your printer. To do so, choose File > Page Setup and follow the instruction of your printer driver.

Overview

Thank you for choosing AOpen AK77-400 /AK77-400N /AK77-400Max. TheAK77-400 /AK77-400N /AK77-400Max is AMD® Socket 462 motherboard(M/B) based on the ATX form factor featuring theVIA Apollo KT400A chipset. As high performance chipset built in the M/B, theAK77-400 /AK77-400N /AK77-400Max comes with AMD® Socket 462 series Athlon™ & Duron™ and AthlonXP™ processor (with CPU Overheat Protectioncircuit to Athlon™XP CPU only) and 200/266/333MHzEV6 system bus. In the AGP performance, it has one AGP slot and supports AGP 8X/4X/2X mode and pipelinedspilt-transactionlong burst transfer up to 2.1GB/sec. With highbandwidth 266/533MB/s 8-bit V-Link Host Controller,DDR400(PC3200),DDR333(PC2700) andDDR266(PC2100) DDR RAM can be applied to

the AK77-400 /AK77-400N /AK77-400Max and DDR400 maximum memory size can be up to 2GB

and DDR333/266 up to 3GB. The on-boardIDE controller supports Ultra DMA 66/100/133 mode andthe transfer rate up to 133MB/s. With aPromise Serial

ATA (PDC20375) controller onboard, it aims to provide you an even faster transfer rate of 150 Mbytes/second. Beside, theAK77-400 /AK77-400N /AK77-400Max has anAC97 CODEC RealTek ALC650 chipset

onboard for provides high performance and magic surround stereo sound to let people enjoy working with it. More than that, this motherboard supportsUSB 2.0 function with a fancy speed of up to 480Mbps, andIEEE 1394 controller to provides data transfer rate up to 400Mbps. Now, enjoy all features from AOpenAK77-400 /AK77-400N /AK77-400Max.
